TRI-PLEX RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE FIRE - 377 SE ELLA STREET - 11-12-20

At 9:29 p.m. on November 12, 2020, Roseburg Fire Department personnel responded to a reported residential structure fire at 377 SE Ella Street.  Dispatched received reports that the residential structure was filling with smoke and the reporting party believed smoke was coming from the attic. 

Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke showing from the attic of a residential tri-plex.  All occupants were out of the home upon arrival.  Firefighters extinguished the attic fire and conducted extensive overhaul.  The fire displaced five adults, five cats, and one dog.   The American Red Cross responded to the scene and assisted the displaced residents.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.  Nine firefighters assisted with firefighting operations.  Other agencies assisting with the fire included Douglas County Fire District #2, Umpqua Valley Ambulance, Roseburg Police Department, Pacific Power, and Avista Utilities.
