UPDATE: MISSING ADULT LOCATED

Gresham, Ore.— Gresham Police are looking for help from the public in searching for a missing adult. On Sunday, August 15, 2021 at 6:00pm, a man was dropped off at the Safeway at SE Powell boulevard and SE 182nd avenue by family members to go for a walk on the Springwater Trail, and has not been seen since.

The man, 40-year-old Benjamin Allen, of Ridgefield, Washington, is developmentally delayed, and he often goes for walks along the Springwater Corridor by himself. He is described as 5-feet-11-inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a short-sleeved white button-up shirt, black jeans, and white tennis shoes. He often stays with a friend in southeast Portland, but they have not seen Mr. Allen since he went missing. He does have some other local friends and favorite places to visit but no one has seen him since Sunday afternoon. He has not been active on his social media accounts in the time that he’s been missing either.

Mr. Allen knows how to use the TriMet system and may have used the bus on Sunday. A TriMet passenger found Mr. Allen’s cell phone at a bus stop near SE 136th and SE Powell at around 2230 hours on Sunday night at around 10:30pm and called a family member of Mr. Allen to get the phone back to them. Police are asking that anyone that may have seen Mr. Allen since Sunday, August 18, 2021, or if anyone knows where he is, to please call our tip line at 503.618.2719 or toll-free at 1.888.989.3505.
