GRESHAM POLICE INVESTIGATE MURDER OF 17-YEAR-OLD

Gresham, Ore.-At approximately 7:40 p.m. on Aug. 24, Gresham Police responded to multiple “shots fired” calls in the area of NE 9th St. and NE Hood Ave. When officers arrived, they quickly located evidence of a shooting but did not find a victim.  A short time later, 911 callers reported a vehicle stopped near SE Division St. and SE 182nd Ave. and it appeared someone inside was injured. 

Medical personnel and officers arrived, finding 17-year-old Seneca Xavier Alexander, of Portland, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  He was immediately transported to the hospital, but pronounced dead soon after.  The medical examiner’s office determined Seneca died as a result of being shot and has ruled the death a homicide.

Gresham Police detectives and members of the East Multnomah County Major Crimes Team (MCT) are leading this investigation. They are processing evidence and investigating leads, trying to determine what led to this incident and who shot Seneca.
