MAJOR CRIMES TEAM, DA'S OFFICE LEAD INVESTIGATION FOLLOWING SEPT. 27 OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTING

Around 2 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, following a traffic stop, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to take a suspect into custody near SE 145^th and SE King Road in Happy Valley. A struggle ensued and the suspect was shot by a deputy.

Lifesaving measures were administered; however, the suspect died at the scene. A handgun was recovered near the suspect.

Detectives are currently working to reconstruct details leading up to the traffic stop and officer-involved shooting.

This investigation is being led by the Clackamas County Major Crimes Team, in collaboration with the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office.
