LINN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE INVESTIGATES ASSAULT OF BABY

Linn County Sheriff Jim Yon reports on Saturday, August 28, 10:17 p.m., dispatch received the report of a 3-month-old baby with injuries at the Lebanon Community Hospital. The baby was transported to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital where further examination confirmed broken bones to include fractures to the skull and ribs. 

Deputies and detectives responded to the scene and investigated the cause of the injuries throughout the following days. Detectives conducted multiple interviews to include the father Gabriel Hess, 23, of Lebanon, who admitted to causing the injuries. 

Hess was lodged at the Linn County Jail where he faces charges of Assault I.  Anyone with further information related to the investigation is encouraged to call Linn County Sheriff’s Office at 541-967-3950.
