DEPUTIES SEARCHING FOR STABBING SUSPECT - OREGON DUNES NATIONAL RECREATION AREA

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office has identified 40 year old Robert Gavin Bowers as a person of interest in yesterday’s stabbing assault in the South Jetty area south of Florence. Bowers is likely homeless and most commonly travels by foot.  Bowers could be armed and should not be approached. 

The Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public to refrain from picking up hitchhikers and to report suspicious activity to law enforcement.

Anyone with information regarding Bowers’ whereabouts is asked to call 911.
