DETECTIVES SEEK ADDITIONAL VICTIMS OF MAN CHARGED WITH CHILD ABUSE

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office

In September of 2021, Washington County Sheriff’s Office detectives assigned to the Violent Crimes Unit began investigating a case of child sex abuse after getting a report of an adult man having sexual contact with a 13-year-old girl. Detectives identified 50-year-old Rodrigo Maya Juarez as the suspect. As the investigation continued, detectives learned there were multiple underage victims.

Juarez, who lives in Beaverton, was arrested on September 21, 2021. On September 27, a grand jury indicted him for the following charges:

  • Sexual abuse in the first degree (seven counts)
  • Sexual abuse in the third degree (six counts)

Juarez remains in jail on $250,000 bail. Additional charges are possible in the future. Detectives believe there are additional victims in this case and are asking other victims to report any abuse to law enforcement.

Anyone with information about this case or any other potential victims, please contact Detective Charles Anderson at 503-846-2704.

Members of the Violent Crimes Unit are called upon to investigate serious violent crimes such as homicides, suspicious deaths, adult sexual assaults, kidnappings, robberies, extortion, serious assaults, elder abuse, and missing persons.
