DUII CRASH TUESDAY AFTERNOON INJURES MINOR PASSENGERS

DILLARD, Ore. - A Winston man was arrested Tuesday following a single vehicle crash which resulted in two children being injured. 

On Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at approximately 3:45 p.m., dispatchers received information of a single vehicle crash with injuries in the 12000-block of Old Highway 99 South in Dillard. 

Deputies arrived to discover a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier which had crashed into a ditch. The driver, identified as 25-year-old Darrion Thomas Allen of Winston, showed visible signs of impairment at the scene. Allen told deputies he had swerved to miss a dog in the road. 

Two children, ages four and two, were in the vehicle at the time of the crash; both of which were transported by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center for evaluation. One of the children was later released and the other was admitted due to their injuries. 

Deputies applied for a search warrant to collect evidence from the person for Darrion Allen. He was later lodged in the Douglas County Jail on the following charges: 

  • Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants
  • Assault III (Felony)
  • Assault IV
  • Reckless Driving
  • Reckless Endangering x2
