GRESHAM POLICE INVESTIGATE EIGHTH HOMICIDE OF 2022

Gresham, Ore.— Just before 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Gresham Police responded to reports of a shooting at 18837 SE Yamhill St., the East Park Place Apartment complex. When officers arrived, they located a Vancouver, Wash., man outside, suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical aid was administered but ultimately Antoine Steven Archer, 23, was pronounced dead.

This morning, the Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Archer’s death Homicide by gunfire. Gresham detectives and other members of the East Multnomah County Major Crimes Team were called to the scene and are leading the investigation. Later in the evening on Wednesday, a 15-year-old male suspect was taken into custody without further incident and lodged at a juvenile detention facility for an accusation of Murder in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

Wednesday’s incident marks the eighth homicide in Gresham this year; all incidents have been gun related. No other information is available at this time.
