TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST

Shortly before 9 p.m. on Friday, July 22, one of our Patrol deputies stopped a gray Honda Accord on Hwy 224 near Park Ave, Estacada. The vehicle’s plates had expired over two years ago.

A search of the car revealed over 100 pills stamped M30 suspected to be fentanyl, nearly half a pound of meth, face masks, two scales, and multiple weapons -- including a gun without a serial number.

The 20-year-old driver, Kenneth Allen Nelson of Portland, was arrested on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Schedule II and Meth), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Obliterating Firearm I.D. Marks; meanwhile, 21-year-old passenger Justin Everett Cogburn of Portland was arrested on a parole violation. Both were transported to the Clackamas County Jail. The vehicle was towed and evidence seized.
