𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲: “We will have a Last Call for fallen firefighter Collin Hagan this afternoon to honor his memory and sacrifice,” Incident Commander Alan Lawson shared with fire personnel at this morning’s briefing.  Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and crew mates during this time of grieving.

𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫: The 𝐑𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐠 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 for gusty outflow winds and possible lightning remains in effect today. Expect brief heavy rainfall.  Temperatures in the mid 80s with relative humidity 20-25%. For smoke information visit: AirNow.gov.

𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞: Yesterday there was moderate fire behavior. This fire behavior decreased when temperatures cooled due to cloud cover and some precipitation. Burnout operations were successful in bringing fire safely toward established firelines, this resulted in an increase in total acres. On the south and west flanks firefighters are working to clear vegetation away from Forest Roads 2154 and 2134 as contingency firelines and are monitoring and patrolling fireline along Forest Roads 2136 and 267.

𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐒𝐰𝐚𝐦𝐩 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞: With minimal fire activity yesterday, firefighters strengthened the line along the east flank of the fire. Efforts to establish a fireline down to the Middle Fork of the Willamette River may include installing a sprinkler system to connect an existing dozer line to the riverbank on the north flank near Forest Road 2153. Mop up operations continue on the south and western portions of the fire.

𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐨 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞: Minimal fire activity yesterday remained interior to firelines. Resource advisors, firefighters, and heavy equipment operators continue to complete fire suppression repair to mitigate post-fire damages to cultural resources, protects road systems from excessive erosion, and mitigate hazard trees along roads to provide for firefighter and public safety.

𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬: 25 hand crews, 18 engines, 8 dozers, 13 water tenders, 6 Type 1 helicopters. Total personnel 956.

𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬: For firefighter and public safety, follow the Big Swamp, Windigo, and Potter Fires.

𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲: As fire activity diminishes, hazards from fire effects and suppression activities remain. Crews and equipment continue to use roads for both suppression and post-fire suppression repair. Activities like brushing and chipping along roadsides and falling trees remain hazards on the landscape. You can help keep firefighters and the public safe by adhering to the closure orders until they are officially lifted.
