Beaverton Man Arrested for Homicide

At 4:18 PM on October 27, 2022, Beaverton police officers were dispatched to 12790 SW Tupelo Ln. on the report of an assault involving a sword. Upon arrival, Beaverton police officers located 73-year-old Audrey Schaff suffering from multiple stab wounds. Schaff was later pronounced dead at the scene. 


Preliminary investigation indicated that Schaff was murdered. Schaff’s biological son, 41-year-old Jason Lee Nye, who lives with his mother at the Tupelo address and who was at the home when police arrived, was taken into custody for the death of his mother. 


Investigators located two bladed weapons which they believe were used in the murder. One is described as a knife and the other a sword style weapon.


Nye was lodged in the Washington County Jail for Murder in the 2nd Degree. He will a be arraigned today in a Washington County Circuit Court.
