MARION COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE ARREST WANTED SUBJECT ON QUINABY ROAD

On November 16^th, 2022, The Marion County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team was activated to help arrest Zachariah Phillips who had a warrant for his arrest regarding the charge of attempted murder.  This occurred in the 2600 block of Quinaby Rd NE, Salem, OR at about 3:21pm, where Phillips was held up inside a residence.  It took several hours to resolve as SWAT personnel took their time and used the assistance of verbal negotiations to try and de-escalate the situation.  After several hours, the situation was defused and resolved peacefully as Phillips agreed to come out of the residence and surrender to SWAT personnel who took Phillips into custody without further incident, at about 11:39pm.  Phillips was eventually taken to the Marion County Jail where he was lodged on his warrant and Quinaby road was re-opened.      

We would like to thank our residents for their patience as we had the road blocked for a considerable amount of time, which was necessary for the safety of everyone.
