FATAL PEDESTRIAN INVOLVED TRAFFIC COLLISION

Gresham, Ore.—On Feb. 20, at approximately 2:50p.m., Gresham police officers and medical personnel responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a U-Haul truck and pedestrian, in the 16800 block of E Burnside St. The truck came to rest on the Max tracks. Max trains were stopped in both directions and motorists are asked to avoid Burnside Rd, from 172nd Ave to 162nd Ave. Westbound vehicular traffic was completely closed on Burnside but for the investigation and was re-opened just after 5:30p.m. Max trains are expected to resume shortly.

 

The adult female pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Shortly before 5:00p.m., investigators learned that the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries.
