OREGON CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT INVESTIGATING HOMICIDE

Tonight, at about 7:40 p.m. the Portland Police Bureau arrested 29-year-old Mason Estabrook in the 400 block of NE Davis St. in Portland.  Mason was turned over to Oregon City Police Detectives and will be lodged at the Clackamas County Jail on charges of Murder II, Assault I, Burglary 1, and Unlawful Use of A Weapon.  The Oregon City Police Detectives, along with members of the Clackamas County Major Crimes Team are continuing their investigation.  We would like to thank the Portland Police Bureau, the Clackamas County Major Crimes Team, and the public for providing information leading to the quick apprehension of Mason Estabrook.

On February 22nd, 2023, at about 4:45 p.m. the Oregon City Police Department responded to a death investigation in the 900 block of Josephine St. in Oregon City. 

Upon arriving, patrol officers located a 71-year-old deceased male inside the residence.  Oregon City Detectives, along with the Clackamas County Major Crimes Team and Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office, responded to assist with the investigation.  Investigators determined the death was the result of a homicide. 

The suspect has been identified as 29-year-old Mason David Estabrook of Portland, Oregon.  Mason is described as a 6-foot 3-inch white male adult, thin build, with short blonde hair. Mason was last seen wearing blue jeans, black tennis shoes, and a red and black coat. Mason is known to travel on foot and use public transportation. Mason should be considered armed and dangerous. If you see Mason, do not contact him, and immediately call 911.
