UPDATED CHARGES: SEARCH WARRANT LEADS TO ARRESTS

Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office

On March 28th, the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the US Marshalls Office and Josephine County Animal Control, executed a search warrant in the 200 Block of South Caves Avenue in Cave Junction, Oregon.

The search warrant was obtained to recover a stolen John Deere tractor located on the property.

The occupants of the residence, Joseph Larue and Danielle Brown, were contacted and detained without incident.  While executing the search warrant, Deputies located the tractor and also discovered 10 dogs in a garage, some of which were in cages.  The living conditions for the dogs did not appear to meet the requirements of “providing minimum care” and a second search warrant was applied for and granted to seize the dogs.  Josephine County Animal Control transported the dogs to the animal shelter.

Joseph Larue and Danielle Brown are the suspects of a previous animal neglect case from September 2022 involving a local business they co-owned called Pawsitive K-9 Solutions Learn and Board, LLC. Joseph was arrested for his involvement and has been out on bail with stipulations he does not possess or have contact with animals.  Danielle was able to avoid contact with law enforcement and a nationwide extradition warrant was issued for her arrest.

While Deputies were still conducting their investigation, Jason Larue, the brother of Joseph Larue, arrived on scene and became hostile. After refusing to leave the property, he was taken into custody for Interfering with a Peace Officer.
