MULTIPLE GUNS RECOVERED IN AN ARMED ROBBERY

On Monday, May 15, 2023, at 8:40 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies assigned to the City of Cornelius responded to an armed robbery near the 200 block of Northwest 338 Ave in Hillsboro, Oregon. When deputies arrived, they located a victim who described being hit over the head with a handgun and quickly learned identifying information about three potential suspects along with the vehicle they were driving.  

A short time later, a deputy saw a vehicle matching the suspect’s vehicle description pulling into a business complex. As the deputy attempted to contact the vehicle’s occupants, three occupants got out and began to flee on foot.  

One male, identified as 18-year-old Bryce Kim, fled on foot, and a foot chase ensued. During the chase, Kim tossed a loaded Glock handgun in the roadway. Kim was captured a few blocks away without incident. The other two males were still near the involved vehicle. The second male was identified as 23-year-old Emillo Martinez. Martinez was found to be in possession of a loaded concealed Glock handgun. The third male involved was identified as 20-year-old Gustin Stephens and was the driver of the involved vehicle. Stephens also admitted he had a loaded Glock handgun inside of the vehicle, that was concealed under the driver’s seat. 

Deputies arrested Kim, of Hillsboro, on the following charges:  

-Robbery in the first degree  

-Unlawful use of a firearm  

-Unlawful possession of a firearm.  

-Assault in the second degree 

 

Deputies arrested Stephens, of Hillsboro, on the following charges: 

-Conspiracy to commit robbery in the first degree   

-Conspiracy to commit assault in the second degree 

-Unlawful possession of a firearm 

-Driving while suspended – misdemeanor 

 

Deputies arrested Martinez, of Beaverton, on the following charges:  

-Unlawful possession of a firearm  

-Unlawful possession of cocaine
