STOLEN VEHICLE IN SOUTH COUNTY LEADS TO SUSPECT ELUDING LAW ENFORCEMENT

On 10/23/2023, at approximately 0300 hours, deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office responded to and were investigating a report of a stolen vehicle in the 52000 block of Huntington Road in La Pine. Deputies developed a possible suspect and later located the vehicle, a black 1989 Chevy S10, at a residence in the 15400 block of Deer Ave, La Pine.

As deputies were attempting to contact the vehicle and take the suspect male into custody, the suspect fled from the scene in the stolen vehicle. The suspect crashed into multiple trees and other objects while fleeing from the scene. Deputies later located the stolen vehicle near Brooks Lane, but it was unoccupied, and the suspect male had fled on foot.

There continues to be increased law enforcement presence in the area of Deer Avenue while a search for the male is conducted. The suspect is described as a white male with black hair and facial hair, in his early 30’s, and was last seen wearing jeans, an unknown-colored t-shirt, a greyish-black vest and boots with no laces.
