SUSPECT CHARGED WITH MURDER AFTER STABBING VICTIM DIES OF INJURIES

Gresham, Ore.— The victim of a stabbing that occurred in Gresham died yesterday at Legacy Emanuel Hospital. On Nov. 22, Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a man had been stabbed just before 3:45 p.m., on NE Hogan Rd. and NE 19 St. Officers arrived and found the victim, Justin Corniel-Tapec, 33, of Gresham, who was transported to the hospital. Corniel-Tapec remained in critical condition until yesterday, when he died as a result of his injuries. 

Detectives with the East Multnomah County Major Crimes Team investigated the incident and identified the suspect as Luke Gentry, 21. Gentry was arrested on Nov. 25 and lodged at the Multnomah County Detention Center on suspicion of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. A grand jury has since indicted Gentry for Murder in the Second Degree.
