Driver Extricated After Rollover Crash on Marvin Hill

Kellogg Rural Fire District

Today at 12:43 PM, Kellogg Rural Fire District responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash near milepost 16 on Highway 138 West, on Marvin Hill.

First arriving units found an SUV on its roof, blocking both eastbound and westbound lanes, with the driver injured and trapped inside. After stabilizing the vehicle, firefighters used specialized hydraulic extrication equipment to free the occupant.

Additional manpower was provided by the Sutherlin Fire Department, who responded with mutual aid to assist during the extrication. Umpqua Valley Ambulance transported the driver from the scene.

During the recovery, one-way traffic was opened up to help ease delays while crews continued working. ODOT assisted with traffic control and roadway cleanup, and Oregon State Police were also on scene.

Thank you to everyone affected by the delay for your patience—and for giving our volunteer firefighters the safety zone needed to complete this rescue safely.
