Portland Police Officer Arrested for Off-Duty Incident

Portland Police Bureau

A Portland Police Officer has been arrested by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) for an incident that occurred off duty.

On Monday, December 1, 2025, PPB was notified that deputies with CCSO responded to a location in Clackamas County on Saturday, November 29, 2025, for an off-duty incident involving Officer Jimmy Pryce. On Monday, December 8, 2025, PPB's Professional Standards Division was informed that CCSO arrested Officer Pryce. The 27-year veteran assigned to North Precinct was transported to the Clackamas County Jail and lodged on the following charges: Strangulation, Assault in the Fourth Degree, and Harassment. Pryce will be placed on administrative leave.

"We take this extremely seriously," Chief Bob Day said. "While the involved officer, like any individual, is entitled to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty, the charges do not reflect the values or expectations of the Portland Police Bureau. This incident occurred off duty and is being handled by another agency, and we are cooperating and conducting our own internal review. Our commitment to accountability and public trust remains unwavering."

In addition to CCSO's criminal investigation, PPB's Internal Affairs Division opened an investigation. Thorough investigations of allegations of criminal misconduct by Bureau members are essential to the maintenance of Bureau integrity, effectiveness, efficiency, and accountability.

PPB will not comment further on this matter. Inquiries into the criminal allegations should be directed to CCSO.
