Salem Man Arrested on Drug and Firearm Charges
Marion County Sheriff’s Office
On December 29, 2025, around 2 a.m., a Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputy was flagged down in the parking lot of the MAPS Credit Union near Lancaster Drive NE and Winema Place NE in Salem.
The male, identified as Logan Ackerman, 19, of Salem, initially reported being assaulted. During the contact, Ackerman produced a glass pipe he said was used for methamphetamine. When deputies attempted a pat-down, Ackerman fled and resisted arrest, yelling that he had a gun.
Deputies took Ackerman into custody and located a loaded Smith & Wesson handgun concealed in his jacket pocket.
A search incident to arrest also revealed approximately 2.7 grams of cocaine and drug paraphernalia that tested presumptively positive for methamphetamine.
Ackerman was transported to the Marion County Jail and lodged on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, unlawful possession of a firearm, and resisting arrest.
