Medford Police Dept. On 03/22/22, at approximately 1:47 a.m., Medford Police officers were dispatched to a reported stabbing outside Rumors Lounge on N. Riverside Avenue. Upon arrival, patrol officers found an unresponsive female victim suffering from an apparent stab wound. The Medford Fire Department and Mercy Flights Ambulance responded to render medical aid; however, life-saving efforts were unsuccessful. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim is not being identified at this time, pending next of kin notification.  Update- Homicide victim identified (next of kin has been notified)  Victim- Brittany L. Lovrovich (31 yoa) Medford Police Department Detectives and Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are actively investigating the case at this time. Menacing/Unlawful Use of a Weapon/Felon in Possession of Weapon

Newport Oregon Police Department On March 20, 2022, at approximately 1:18pm, the Newport Police Department received a call of a possible road rage incident in the area of Hwy 101 near N 6th Street in Newport. Information was received that one of the drivers in the incident had brandished a handgun at another driver. Officers responded and contacted the reporting victim.  The investigation revealed that the suspect driver, later identified as Dylan Deer, 26, of Corvallis, pulled a handgun and pointed it at the victim while they were driving. The victim stated they had to slam on their brakes to create separation between themselves and Deer.  The victim then called 911, provided a vehicle description to the dispatcher, and followed Deer at a safe distance, where they observed Deer pull into a business parking lot in the 1500 block of N Coast Hwy. Crash Kills Motorcyclist on Wagner Creek Road 90-degree Blind Corner

Jackson County Sheriff's Office JCSO Case 22-1485 TALENT, Ore. – A motorcyclist has died after crashing into a passenger vehicle on the 90-degree blind corner near the 6000 block of Wagner Creek Road in Talent. At 5:10 pm on Monday, Ashland Fire and Rescue responded to the scene with Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) and Talent Police Department and began rendering aid. The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. Next of kin has been notified, the motorcyclist was Matthew James Roberts, 29, of Ashland.  Jackson County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) team and JCSO Medical Examiner detectives responded to investigate the accident. Preliminary investigations indicate the 1996 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling northbound on Wagner Creek Road when it left the lane of travel for unknown reasons and crashed into the front of the 2020 Volvo passenger vehicle. K9 RICO CAPTURES ROBBERY SUSPECT AFTER PURSUIT

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office On March 20, 2022, at approximately 1:51pm, deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office were advised by dispatch that a car salesman was reporting he had just been forced out of a black 2019 Lincoln Navigator during a test drive on Powell Butte Highway near the intersection with Someday Way.  The salesman reported the male implied he had a weapon, forced him out, and then drove off on Powell Butte Highway towards Prineville.  The male was later identified as 34-year-old Daniel Lopez of Prineville. Crook County Sheriff’s Office deputies located the vehicle traveling eastbound on Highway 126.  Deschutes County deputies in the area also spotted the vehicle and initiated a pursuit of the vehicle.  The vehicle drove southbound on Powell Butte Highway and then onto Shumway Road.  The vehicle again turned northbound onto Powell Butte Highway while deputies pursued.  Deputies successfully deployed two sets of spike strips that...

FORMER DAYCARE WORKER SENTENCED TO FIVE YEARS IN PRISON

Washington Co. District Attorney's Office HILLSBORO, Ore.- On January 23, 2019, Washington County Circuit Court Judge Andrew Erwin found John Patrick Gilbreath guilty of first-degree unlawful sexual penetration. He was later sentenced to five years of probation.  Under the guidelines of his probation, Judge Erwin ordered the defendant to undergo and successfully complete a sex offender treatment program. That program included mandatory polygraph testing. During a polygraph examination, Mr. Gilbreath admitted he sexually abused six additional children at Partridge House daycare in Beaverton, Oregon where he worked. Mr. Gilbreath had concealed these additional victims throughout his sex offender treatment program, and investigators were only aware of two victims at the time of his trial. Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) On Thursday, March 17th, 2022, detectives with the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) arrested two men on drug trafficking charges.     DINT detectives contacted two men in a vehicle in the parking lot of a business in the 100 block of Gazely Bridge Road, in Canyonville.  The men were detained in relation to an ongoing investigation.  Drug detection K-9 “Trapper” sniffed the area around the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics coming from inside.   A search of the vehicle revealed almost 6 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, which is a very large amount.  40 year old Luis Pacheco-Lopez, of Medford, Oregon, and 22 year old Daniel Velarde-Medrano, of Huntington Park, California, were both lodged at the Douglas County Jail on charges of Possession and Delivery of Methamphetamine.

Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) On Monday, March 14th, 2022, detectives with the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) arrested 51 year old Joseph Barbero of Roseburg.     As part of an ongoing investigation, detectives initiated a traffic stop on Barbero on Harvard Avenue/Umpqua Street, in Roseburg.  Barbero was detained, pending application for a search warrant.  Upon execution of a search warrant on Barbero's vehicle, detectives found approximately 363 grams of suspected methamphetamine, and two firearms, along with scales, drug packaging, and other paraphernalia.     Detectives followed up later that night with a search warrant at Barbero's residence at the Lookingglass Apartments in Roseburg.  In Barbero's apartment detectives found 27 more firearms, 74 pounds of green bud marijuana, and a large amount of drug paraphernalia.  Barbero is not allowed to possess firearms as he is a convicted felon.     Barbero was lodged ...

SALEM POLICE INVESTIGATE DOWNTOWN SHOOTING

Salem Police Department On Friday, March 18, 2022, at approximately 2:15pm, Salem officers, along with other local police agencies, responded to multiple calls regarding a potential shooting near the Salem Center Mall in downtown Salem. Officers who responded to the scene located one male juvenile victim at a business near High St. NE and Chemeketa St. NE with a gunshot wound.  That victim was transported to the Salem Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.    Police officers conducted a search of the Salem Center Mall and escorted employees and customers out of the building. No additional victims were located. At this time, no suspect is in custody.  Although this is still an active investigation, we can report that after the initial shooting, there were no additional shots fired as was being reported over social media.    Streets in downtown are now opening.  However, motorists and downtown visitors should...

MADGE Bust

Medford Police On March 16th, 2022, after a couple months long investigation into drug sales in the valley, MADGE served a search warrant on Bruno Osorio-Lopez, 22 years old, who lives in the 600 block of Palm Street, Medford. It turns out their information was correct, as detectives found:  - 10 pounds of Methamphetamine  - 6 ounces of Heroin  - 1 ounce of Cocaine  - 50 Fentanyl pills  - $3,000 in cash Osorio-Lopez was lodged in jail on numerous charges, with a $500,000 bail. Law prohibits us from posting mug shots of suspects in most circumstances.  Nicely done MADGE!
