Gresham Police Investigating Homicide

Gresham Police Dept   Gresham, Ore.— The Gresham Police Department and the East County Major Crimes Team (MCT)  are investigating a homicide that occurred in the 500 block of SE 197th Ave. Officers received a 911 call at 7:23 a.m., noting a subject down on the sidewalk, bleeding. Officers, along with Gresham Fire, responded to the location and found the subject was deceased.     An autopsy performed at the State Medical Examiner's office determined, the victim Portland resident Michael Lashone Hatcher, 35, died of gun violence. This is an active investigation, and no further details are available at this time. Fatal Crash - Interstate 5 - Douglas County

Oregon State Police On Friday, March 24, 2023, at approximately 5:58 A.M., the Oregon State Police responded to a two vehicle crash on Interstate 5 (southbound), near milepost 166, in Douglas County. The preliminary investigation indicated a Freightliner CMV and semi-trailer, operated by Joel Lockhart (29) of White City (OR), was southbound and lost control striking the center barrier where it came to rest. A Nissan Murano, operated by Karen Sweesy (46) of Monroe (WA), was southbound and came upon the disabled CMV and semi-trailer. The Nissan crashed into the left rear corner of the semi-trailer. Sweesy was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS.  A passenger in the Nissan, Shari Landerville (59) of Monroe (WA), received serious injuries and was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend. THREE VICTIMS DECEASED AFTER SHOOTING IN THE PORTSMOUTH NEIGHBORHOOD

Portland Police Bureau On Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 12:23p.m., North Precinct Officers responded to a report of a shooting at North Foss Avenue and North Foss Court. When they arrived they located three victims in a car. EMS responded as well and determined that all three were deceased at the scene. The suspect or suspects left the scene before police were dispatched and were not immediately located. No arrests have been made. Portland Police Homicide Unit has responded to the scene, along with the Enhanced Community Safety Team, Focused Intervention Team, Crisis Response Team, and Forensic Evidence Division. During the investigation, North Foss Avenue is closed between North Houghton Street and North Willis Boulevard. FATAL CRASH - HWY 138W - DOUGLAS COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Thursday, March 23, 2023, at approximately 12:36 P.M., the Oregon State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on Hwy 138W, near milepost 19, in Douglas County. The preliminary investigation indicated an International Box Truck, operated by Jose Cortez Hurtado (68) of Salem, was eastbound on Hwy 138W, when for unknown reasons, it went across the roadway and partially onto the westbound shoulder. The truck veered back across the roadway and onto the eastbound shoulder where it crashed into a tree. Hurtado was pronounced deceased at the scene by first responders.  The highway remained open during the on-scene crash investigation. Update: Suspected Bank Robber Located and Arrested

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office   Late yesterday, a community member saw the photo of the bank robber on a local news story and informed deputies that he was staying at a hotel in Forest Grove. Deputies contacted the person at the hotel and arrested him. On Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at 8:32 p.m., a community member called non-emergency dispatch and reported they saw a news story on the bank robbery and knew the man was staying at America’s Best Value Inn & Suites in Forest Grove. Officers from Forest Grove Police Department and deputies from the Sheriff’s Office and Cornelius Police Department went to the motel and contacted the man, 70-year-old Craig Haberman, outside of his hotel room and arrested him. Haberman was transported to the Washington County Jail and lodged on two outstanding warrants – one for an unrelated bank robbery. Man Arrested in Shady Cove Linked to Several Unsolved Burglaries, Leads Investigators to Keys for 20 Local Businesses, 43-Grams Fentanyl Seized

Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office   SHADY COVE, Ore. – Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Shady Cove deputies arrested a man after he attempted to break into a local RV park front office Tuesday afternoon in the 21000 block of Highway 62. An observer witnessed the man acting suspiciously in the area and alerted authorities. JCSO deputies responded, detained and identified the suspect discovering he had a total of eight outstanding warrants for his arrest and a parole violation.  While searching the suspect, deputies found 14-grams of methamphetamine on his person. A search of his vehicle uncovered 43.7-grams of fentanyl in multiple baggies packaged for sale, evidence of several additional burglaries, and burglary tools. Medford Police Department (MPD) detectives responded to assist in the investigation and along with JCSO deputies were able to link the suspect to burglaries from throughout the Rogue Valley. News Release: Woodburn Police Seek Suspect Wanted for Multiple Felonies

Woodburn Police   On Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at approximately 3:09 p.m., Woodburn Police officers observed 26-year-old Jesus Camarena enter a residence in the 1000 block of Williams Ave in Woodburn. The officers, aware Camarena had multiple felony warrants issued for his arrest, set a perimeter around the residence and requested other individuals inside to exit. Camarena was not observed exiting during this time.  Due to serious nature of the warrants, the Marion County Regional SWAT Team was requested to conduct a search of the residence. A shelter-in-place was issued at approximately 4:30 p.m. for residents in the 1000 block of Williams Ave, and a section of Highway 99E was closed in both directions between Lincoln St and Hardcastle Ave. At approximately 5:42 p.m. a warrant was signed by a Marion County Judge to search the residence for Camarena. Marion County Regional SWAT members then conducted a search but did not locate him. Camarena is described as a Hispanic male, 6’0”...

Deputies Ask for the Community's Help in Locating Bank Robber

Sheriff's Office This afternoon, deputies responded to a bank robbery and are now asking for the public’s help locating the bank robber who was recorded on surveillance cameras.  On Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at 12:09 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies serving the City of Cornelius responded to a bank robbery at the US Bank located at 1735 N Adair Street. After deputies arrived, they learned a man had presented a bank teller with a note demanding money, and the man left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. Deputies and Hillsboro Police Officers searched the area for the man but did not find him. GRESHAM POLICE ATTEMPTING TO IDENTIFY WITNESS

Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore.—Just before 5:30 p.m. on May 25, 2022, Gresham Police responded to reports of a shooting at 18837 SE Yamhill St., the East Park Place Apartment complex. When officers arrived, they located a Vancouver, Wash., man outside, suffering from a gunshot wound.
