POLICE INVESTIGATING FATAL HIT-AND-RUN

Gresham Police Dept CASE NUMBER:  23-49425 Gresham, Ore.—A hit-and-run traffic crash resulted in Gresham’s 13th traffic fatality this year. Shortly before 6:30 p.m., Gresham police officers and medical personnel responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian on E Burnside Rd. at 181 Ave. As officers were responding, callers reported that the vehicle fled the scene westbound on Burnside. Police and medical personnel arrived and determined that the pedestrian died from their injuries. Witnesses directed officers to the location of the suspect vehicle which had become disabled and was abandoned by the suspect on Burnside near 172 Ave. Officers searched the area but did not locate the suspect. The East Metro Vehicular Crimes Team (VCT) responded to the scene and is investigating the crash. FIREFIGHTERS PROTECT LOCAL BUSINESS FROM RV FIRE

Eugene Springfield Fire Eugene, OR.  Eugene Springfield Fire responded to reports of an RV fire next to a local business in West Eugene Monday night. Arriving firefighters found a fully involved motorhome threatening a building at Redwood Northwest located at 4977 W 11th Ave.  Firefighters from the Bailey Hill station requested an additional engine to support fire operations and overhaul.  The occupants escaped the fire uninjured.  The cause is under investigation, but is suspected to be related to a propane heater.                  Click Here To Download Our App

GRESHAM POLICE SEARCHING FOR MISSING ENDANGERED 15-YEAR-OLD

Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore.— Gresham Police is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing endangered 15-year-old girl. Zalisha Chapman, who sometimes uses the name “Lynx,” left her temporary residence in Historic Downtown Gresham. Zalisha’s family is worried about her welfare and believe she is staying in homeless camps in the downtown Gresham area with older people who may try to take advantage of her. Zalisha is described by her family as a White female who is 5-feet and 8-inches tall and weighs 100 pounds. She was last seen with pink hair but the color may be fading. Zalisha may be trying to find her way back to family in Eugene, Ore. THREE ARRESTED AFTER ALTERCATION DURING THEFT OF RECREATIONAL VEHICLE

Deschutes County Sheriff's Office On December 9 th , 2023, at 6:52 am the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to St. Charles Bend for a report of a female with a gunshot wound. The female was identified as Rosey Naihe Olson. Shortly after contacting the subjects that assisted the female by transporting her to St. Charles Bend, it was determined the event had taken place in and amongst the transient camps off China Hat Road near mile post 2. Early on in the investigation the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, detectives, and patrol deputies responded to the area of the transient camps where the event was reported to have taken place, to ensure no other subjects were injured or in need of emergency medical attention. Investigators located and secured the crime scenes associated with the event. WANTED SUBJECT TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AFTER FLEEING DEPUTIES AND SEVERELY INJURING PASSENGER IN CRASH

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office Two Lane County Sheriff’s Deputies contacted the occupants of a 2003 Chevrolet pickup yesterday morning shortly prior to 8:30am at the Hayden Bridge Boat ramp.  The deputies recognized one of the subjects from prior law enforcement contact as 34-year-old Jared Lee Moe.  During their contact, Moe suddenly sped away in the truck on Hayden Bridge Dr. with the other person in the passenger seat.  Before deputies could catch up, Moe crashed the truck through two mailboxes and into a tree.  The passenger was severely injured and unable to exit the vehicle.  Moe fled into the nearby neighborhood on foot.  Deputies provided aid to the passenger as other deputies and Springfield Police officers converged on the area.  The passenger was transported by medics to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries.  A handgun was later located inside of Moe’s vehicle.    A citizen who had been in the vicinity of the crash fo...

PENNSYLVANIA MAN SENTENCED TO LIFE IN FEDERAL PRISON FOR DEALING FENTANYL ANALOGUE THAT CAUSED FATAL OVERDOSES IN OREGON

U.S. Attorney's Office - District of Oregon PORTLAND, Ore.—A Pennsylvania man who completed more than 7,800 individual darknet fentanyl sales in less than two years and was linked by investigators to dozens of fatal overdoses across the United States was sentenced to life in federal prison today for distributing a fentanyl analogue on AlphaBay, a former darknet marketplace, that caused the overdoses of three people in Oregon, two of whom died. Henry Konah Koffie, 38, of Darby, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to life in federal prison and three years’ supervised release. “Henry Koffie’s overdose victims purchased fentanyl from him on the darknet for as much as $40 a gram, waited for it to arrive, consumed it, and tragically overdosed. Today, individuals seeking fentanyl need only walk to a nearby street corner and hand over a dollar or two for a similar quantity. LINN COUNTY DEPUTIES RESPOND TO A SCHOOL BOMB THREAT

Linn County Sheriff's Office Linn County Sheriff Michelle Duncan reports her deputies are working on a threat to schools in the Central Linn School District in the Halsey area.  The Linn County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a call at 11:58 a.m., that an administrative employee had received a threatening email stating there was a bomb in the school.  The schools were evacuated, and deputies are currently searching them for anything suspicious.  While deputies are searching, detectives are also actively working on leads for the source of the email.  So far there are no suspicious devices that have been found.  Deputies will check each school before children will be allowed back in.   Linn County Detectives learned several schools throughout the state received similar threatening emails.  The investigation will continue to find the source of the threat.  Linn County Sheriff’s Office will work cooperatively with other agencies in this inve...

DEPUTIES INVESTIGATING BOMB THREAT CASCADE SCHOOL DISTRICT

Marion Co. Sheriff's Office At about 10:45 a.m. this morning, December 11, 2023, Cascade School District staff notified the Marion County Sheriff’s Office that a bomb threat had been received. Deputies are onsite, as a safety precaution the district is coordinating evacuation of students. At this time, no device(s) have been located and the investigation is ongoing. The Sheriff's Office has requested assistance from the local FBI office to assist with investigating the threat. The Cascade School District is notifying parents of evacuated students and will share information on impacts to school operations. Arrests Made in Charles Point Apartment Shooting from December 3rd

Medford Police Dept.   Update – 12/11/23 at 12:00 PM As of Monday, 12/11/23 the Medford Police Department has made additional arrests in this case. Over the weekend, Medford Police detectives contacted and arrested two juvenile males who are believed to have been involved in the shooting incident on the morning of December 3 rd . Because they are juveniles, the names of those arrested will not be released. Both subjects are 17-years-old and are from Grants Pass. Both were lodged at the Jackson County Juvenile Detention Facility on the charges of Murder in the Second Degree and Conspiracy to Commit Murder.   At this time, detectives are continuing to investigate this case. However, we can release that during this incident, it is believed that a confrontation broke out at the apartment over a past disagreement. FATAL CRASH - INTERSTATE 84 - BAKER COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Friday, December 8, 2023, at approximately 6:57 a.m., the Oregon State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on I-84 east near milepost 314 in Baker County.   The preliminary investigation indicated an eastbound 2008 Toyota Tacoma, operated by Michael Workman (65) of Montpelier (ID), left the roadway and traveled approximately 450 feet on the right shoulder, before returning to the roadway.  The Tacoma traveled approximately 75 feet and then once again left the roadway on the right shoulder. The Tacoma rolled several times and traveled approximately 320 feet before it came to an uncontrolled rest, overturned on the roadside.    The operator (Workman) was declared deceased at the scene. The operator was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.   The highway was impacted for approximately 3 hours during the on-scene investigation.  The investigation is ongoing.    OSP was assisted by Baker Fire and ODOT.   ...

UPDATE: SUSPECT IN CENTENNIAL NEIGHBORHOOD HOMICIDE ARRESTED

Portland Police Bureau On November 25, 2023, Portland Police Bureau homicide detectives responded to a shooting in the Centennial Neighborhood to begin an investigation into the death of 50-year-old James Mack. Through their investigation, detectives were able to identify William M. Maingi, 27, of Gresham, as the suspect involved in the homicide. On Wednesday, December 6, 2023, a Multnomah County Grand Jury indicted Maingi for the murder of Mack. On Sunday, December 10, 2023, homicide detectives, with the assistance of East Metro SWAT, arrested Maingi. He was transferred to the Multnomah County Detention Center and booked on charges of Murder in the Second Degree and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. The victim’s family has been notified of the arrest. The case remains under investigation, and no further details are being released at this time.                 Click Here To Download Our App

FATAL CRASH - INTERSTATE 5 - JOSEPHINE COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Dec. 9, 2023, at approximately 5:54 p.m. the Oregon State Police responded to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Interstate 5 southbound near milepost 75 in Josephine County near Wolf Creek.  The preliminary investigation indicated the victim, Tami Lee (62) of Medford, was operating a Kia and is believed to have struck an animal and exited the vehicle to check on the animal. Lee was then struck in the slow lane by a Freightliner commercial motor vehicle operated by Bradley Dean Guile (65) of Elmira.  Lee was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The driver of the semi-truck remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.  The highway was impacted for approximately one hour.  OSP was assisted by Wolf Creek Fire, Rural Metro Fire, and the Oregon Dept. of Transportation.                  Click Here To Download Our App

TEEN ARRESTED AFTER PASSENGER DIES IN CRASH

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office On Friday, December 8, 2023, at 9:07 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on SW River Rd, south of SW Farmington Rd. The driver was traveling at a high speed before losing control on a curve, rolling over, before crashing through a chain link fence.   The driver, 19-year-old Jesse Granados-Villegas, sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Two juvenile passengers, who are related to the driver, were also in the car. One is currently receiving treatment for severe injuries at a local hospital, while the other tragically passed away at the scene.   Post-hospitalization, Granados-Villegas was arrested for manslaughter in the second degree, reckless driving, and DUII (marijuana). ESF worked to extricate the driver of a sedan, suspected to have serious injuries. FATAL VEHICLE VS PEDESTRIAN CRASH

Sheriff's Office ROSEBURG, Ore. -  A Roseburg woman died after she was struck by a vehicle in Winchester on Thursday.  On Thursday, December 7, 2023, shortly before 4:30 a.m., 9-1-1 dispatchers received a report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash on NE Stephens Street near Strauss Avenue.  Deputies arrived on scene to discover a female lying in the roadway who had suffered fatal injuries. The female was identified as 39-year-old Cody Ann Jackson of Roseburg.  Deputies learned that Jackson had been walking in the northbound lane when she was struck by a northbound 2007 Honda Pilot operated by 44-year-old Adam Mohlsick of Roseburg. Mohlsick was cooperative with deputies throughout the investigation.  The incident remains under investigation and criminal charges are not expected. Gresham Police Dept Update -  Gresham, Ore.—Gresham Police would like to thank the public for their assistance in searching for missing 77-year-old male, Glen Glaspey. The staff at Glaspey’s assisted living home, in southwest Gresham, say he left at 11:00 a.m. on Dec. 8. Today, the staff at Glaspey’s assisted living home reported that he had returned and is no longer missing. Gresham, Ore.— Gresham Police is asking for the public’s assistance with locating a missing 77-year-old male, Glen Glaspey. The staff at Glaspey’s assisted living home, in southwest Gresham, say he left at 11:00 a.m. and has not returned. They are concerned he may be lost because he has dementia. Glaspey is familiar with TriMet. Glaspey is described as white male who is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has scruffy gray hair and hazel eyes. Coos County Sheriff's Office   On November 26th, 2023, the Sunset Bay Golf Course owner located at 89515 Cape Arago Hwy contacted the Coos County Sheriff’s Office to report his trail camera took an image of an armed trespasser on his property.   Sgt. A. Slater conducted an investigation, leading him to apply for a search warrant to search the property at 91061 Cape Arago Hwy. The warrant was granted and subsequently executed by the Coos County Emergency Response Team (ERT) on December 8th at 6:30 a.m.   The suspect, who had previously trespassed armed, was identified as James H. Green (65) of Charleston. Mr. Green was questioned, and (4) firearms were seized from his residence, including the rifle Mr. Green was in possession of on November 26th.   James H. INVESTIGATION TAKES DOWN DRUG TRAFFICKING RING WITH INTERNATIONAL TIES

Multnomah Co. Sheriff's Office A months-long investigation by the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office Dangerous Drugs Team resulted in one of the largest illegal fentanyl seizures in state history, and the largest seizure in agency history. The Dangerous Drugs Team (DDT), a grant-funded narcotics task force (more information below), executed an early morning search warrant on December 7, 2023, culminating an investigation into a drug trafficking organization selling fentanyl in the tri-county area. During the investigation, DDT identified several suspects and their co-conspirators, as well as cars and houses believed to be involved. Search warrants were executed at locations in Portland and Oregon City. At the Portland location, law enforcement located more than 52 pounds of fentanyl powder. At the Oregon City location, more than one pound of fentanyl powder and over 8,000 fentanyl pills were discovered.  In addition to the drugs, over $30,00 in cash and multiple firearms were seized...

TIMOTHY IRWIN MEEKER SENTENCED IN CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE CASE

Washington Co. District Attorney's Office HILLSBORO, Ore- On November 3, 2023, Timothy Irwin Meeker, age 72, pleaded guilty to three counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree. On December 7, 2023, Washington County Circuit Court Judge Oscar Garcia sentenced the defendant to 100 months in prison. Senior Deputy District Attorney Andy Pulver prosecuted this case.  The defendant sexually abused two children. The first victim was abused multiple times over a span of several years. This came to light in 2018 after the defendant molested the second victim, who reported the actions to her mother. The girl was seen by medical experts at CARES Northwest but was unable to provide details due to her young age. The defendant denied any wrongdoing and investigators were unable to proceed. In 2022, the first victim disclosed the abuse to loved ones and experts at CARES Northwest. Family members confronted the defendant with the allegations, and he admitted to the abuse.
