Man Arrested After Crashing into Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Patrol SUV

Multnomah County Sheriff's Office MULTNOMAH COUNTY, Ore. (MCSO) — A man accused of crashing into an occupied Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) patrol SUV is in custody. Neither MCSO deputy inside the patrol SUV were seriously injured. At approximately 2 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026, dispatchers with the City of Portland’s Bureau of Emergency Communications (BOEC) notified law enforcement over the radio that a car fled from Portland Police near Northeast Glisan Street and Northeast 148th Avenue. Two MCSO deputies, riding as a partner car, later saw the suspect’s vehicle. The deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver immediately took off. MCSO deputies did not pursue the car and put out the last known direction on the radio. PPB officers later found the car and deployed spike strips. Sheriff's Office arrests 24-year-old man on multiple rape charges; additional victims sought

  Clackamas County Sheriff's Office  On Thursday, January 29, 2026, detectives from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jacob Todd Koser, age 24, of Oak Grove on multiple counts of Rape in the First Degree, Strangulation, Assault in the Fourth Degree, and Menacing, along with additional counts of Providing Liquor to a Person Under 21 or to an Intoxicated Person and Unlawful Delivery of Marijuana.    During the investigation, detectives learned Koser met the adult female victim through the mobile dating application Tinder. Investigators believe he may have also used the dating application Pure.   Koser is being held in the Clackamas County Jail on a $500,000 bail. We are releasing Jacob Koser’s booking photo from this incident. Salem Detectives Investigating Two Suspicious Death Cases

Salem Police Dept. SALEM, Ore. —  Detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit and Felony Crimes Unit are investigating two separate unrelated suspicious death cases in Salem.     The first incident occurred on January 30, 2026, at approximately 1:10 p.m., when officers responded to a residence in the 4600 block of Dark Forest Place NE and found a woman deceased.     The second incident took place later that day at approximately 6:31 p.m. near Wallace Marine Park, where a woman was found deceased under suspicious circumstances.     Both investigations are ongoing. At this time, the incidents appear unrelated and there is no ongoing threat to the public.     For further inquiries, please contact the Salem Police Communications Office.

OSP AND LOCAL AGENCIES RESPOND TO REPORTS OF SHOTS FIRED FROM VEHICLE - DOUGLAS COUNTY

Oregon State Police Douglas County, Ore. (Jan. 30, 2026)  - On Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 8:18 a.m., Oregon State Police and local law enforcement agencies responded to multiple 911 calls of a person discharging a firearm from a vehicle on Interstate 5, near milepost 128, in Douglas County.   The preliminary investigation indicated the suspect, now known as Charles Simmons (53) of Winston, was reportedly discharging a firearm from within his Dodge Ram pickup while traveling northbound on the interstate. The suspect reportedly contacted pedestrians, attempted to stop other motorists, and caused a non-injury crash with another vehicle while displaying and at times discharging a firearm.  The suspect was located by law enforcement and taken into custody. DETECTIVES SEEKING ADDITIONAL VICTIMS IN SEXUAL ASSAULT INVESTIGATION

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office In December 2025, detectives with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit began an investigation when Vancouver Police Department detectives notified them of a sexual assault. The victim reported to the medical staff at a Vancouver hospital that the sexual assault took place in Washington County.   Detectives learned the male suspect messaged the victim through the social media app, Snapchat, and began inappropriate contact. The man convinced the victim to meet in-person, and so he drove to Vancouver, Washington, to pick them up. The suspect drove the victim to Cornelius, Oregon, on December 24, 2025, and sexually assaulted them. The child victim also reported that the man gave them alcohol, marijuana, and other intoxicants during the interaction. Bank Robbery Suspects Detained - Final Update

Lincoln County Sheriff's Office  At approximately 11:48 am, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a bank robbery at Columbia Bank in Depoe Bay, Oregon. Callers reported two armed adult males concealing their faces entered the bank and held staff at gun point, demanding access to the vault. Columbia Bank reported the two successfully obtained more than $50,000 in US currency before fleeing south on Highway 101 in a red sedan without license plates. The red suspect vehicle was abandoned at a vacant lot near NE Stanley and E. Collins Street in Depoe Bay. The vehicle was set on fire. The suspects were seen getting into a grey 4 door Toyota and left the area west as reported by a nearby resident. At approximately 12:51 pm, Newport Police spotted a grey Toyota Camry near Don Davis Park in Newport, Oregon. Witnesses reported seeing two men leave the grey Toyota Camry on foot. Two Juveniles Rescued After Falling Through Ice at Jefferson County Pond

Jefferson County Sheriff Office     Yesterday (1/28/26), emergency responders from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson County Fire & EMS, and assisting agencies successfully rescued two juveniles who fell through the ice at the Jefferson County fishing pond at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, off SW Culver Highway.   At approximately 5:16 p.m., Jefferson County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting that two individuals, a 15-year-old and 16-year-old, had fallen through the ice and were submerged in the pond. Initial reports indicated the juveniles were trapped beneath the ice and unable to self-rescue.   First responders arrived within minutes and located the juveniles near the north end of the pond, toward the center. Both were partially submerged, calling for help, and reporting extreme cold, exhaustion, and loss of sensation. JUDGE SENTENCES 20-YEAR-OLD SERIAL RAPIST TO 45 YEARS PRISON

Multnomah Co. District Attorney's Office Portland, OR- Multnomah County Circuit Court Judge Benjamin Souede sentenced Damani Jazz Anderson to 45 years in prison today.    Anderson pled guilty to sexually assaulting five girls and young women, four of them  at gunpoint.   After the sentencing, Senior Deputy District Attorney Robin Skarstad said: “Our community is so grateful for the strength and sacrifice of these five young survivors, who have saved others from harm at the hands of this sexual predator.” THE FACTS: Beginning in February of 2023, the defendant who was 16 years old had an on and off relationship with a 17-year old.  He was mentally, physically, and emotionally abusive to her.  At one point, she went to his room to retrieve her belongings and he pushed her down on the bed, put his knee on her back, tied her up, and raped her.  In January of 2024, when the defendant was 17, he identified his next victim, a 13-year old middle schooler....

LINN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE USES K9 TO ARREST WANTED MAN IN STOLEN VEHICLE

Linn County Sheriff's Office Linn County Sheriff Michelle Duncan reports on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at 10:39 a.m., deputies responded to a call of a stolen vehicle in the 39900 block of Lacomb Dr. outside of Lebanon.  It was reported that Travis Pressey, 47, of Sweet Home, was driving a 1990 Green Honda CRX, which he had stolen earlier in the week from the Sweet Home area.    When the caller, who knew the owner of the Honda, confronted Pressey, he allegedly pointed a gun at the caller.  Pressey then took off in the stolen Honda headed toward Lacomb.  Deputies quickly arrived and started searching the Lacomb area for Pressey and the stolen Honda.  The Honda was located in a driveway and Pressey attempted to leave in the vehicle, but it was out of gas.  Pressey then fled on foot into a wooded area.  K9 Juice was deployed and tracked Pressey down.  K9 Juice bit Pressey in the arm while apprehending him.  Pressey was taken into custody and...

Sheriff's Office On January 29th at about 10 a.m., Lane County Sheriff’s detectives contacted a suspect in an ongoing investigation in the area of Commons Drive and Kinsrow Avenue.   The suspect, Seth Nishimatsu Smith, 30, of Eugene, was arrested and lodged at the Lane County Jail on 10 counts of Encouraging Child Sex Abuse in the 1st Degree and 10 counts of Encouraging Child Sex Abuse in the 2nd Degree.   This arrest stemmed from an investigation by the Lane County Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, focusing on child exploitation.   The Lane County Sheriff’s Office received assistance during this investigation from the Lane County District Attorney’s Office and Springfield Police Department.   This arrest is part of an ongoing effort by local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to combat child exploitation and protect vulnerable members of our community. Deputies Arrest Felon Following High-Speed Elude, Drug Seizure, and Firearm Discovery

Marion County Sheriff's Office  A Marion County Sheriff’s Office investigation has resulted in the arrest of a convicted felon following a series of dangerous incidents involving a high-speed elude, illegal narcotics, and an altered firearm. On January 12, 2026, at approximately 10:39 a.m., a Marion County Traffic Team deputy observed a teal BMW traveling northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 271 without license plates or temporary registration, and with the driver not wearing a seatbelt. When the deputy attempted a traffic stop, the vehicle accelerated to speeds exceeding 103 mph, making aggressive and unsafe lane changes while eluding law enforcement. The driver was later identified as Dakota Wayne Kamna, 33, through investigative follow-up. Less than two weeks later, on January 22, 2026, deputies conducted a separate traffic stop in northeast Salem. During that stop, a passenger fled on foot. OSP K-9 TEAM SEIZES ILLEGAL DRUGS FOLLOWING TRAFFIC STOP – DOUGLAS COUNTY

Oregon State Police DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. (28 JAN 2024)  – A recent Oregon State Police traffic stop near Roseburg led to the seizure of a large quantity of cocaine and cash.   On Sunday, January 25, 2026, at about 3:00 p.m., an Oregon State Trooper stopped a vehicle on Interstate 5 southbound near milepost 153 for a traffic violation. During the contact, the trooper discovered the vehicle had been rented by an unknown third party who was not present. Neither of the vehicle’s occupants had a valid driver’s license.   The trooper became suspicious of possible criminal activity during the course of the stop and requested an OSP drug-detection K-9 team. The K-9 was deployed and alerted to the exterior of the vehicle. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, 11 pounds of cocaine and $24,000 in U.S. currency were discovered.   The case was referred to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

LANE COUNTY SHERIFF’S K9 APPREHENDS WANTED MAN NEAR COTTAGE GROVE

Sheriff's Office On January 26th at 5 p.m., Lane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence in the 31800 block of Cottage Grove Lorane Road, to look for Robert David Clark, 44, of Cottage Grove. Clark had warrants for his arrest out of Umatilla County for Trespass in the 1st Degree and Theft in the 3rd Degree, and out of Morrow County for Trespass in the 1st Degree, Trespass in the 2nd Degree, and Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle.   Deputies contacted Clark at the front door of the residence. Instead of cooperating, he ran out the back door. A sergeant responded with K9 Hektor and began searching the area. Clark was eventually located by K9 Hektor hiding in the shed of a nearby property.   Clark refused to exit, and attempted to hold the door closed despite admonishments that a K9 would be deployed. POLICE PURSUIT LEADS TO ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT AND GUN SEIZURE

SALEM, Ore. — On January 27, 2026, Jonathon Sanchez, 30, of Salem, was arrested following a pursuit that stemmed from an armed robbery incident that occurred on January 26, 2026.     At approximately 1:20 a.m. on January 26, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at an apartment located in the 4100 block of Market Street NE. Two suspects,  armed with handguns, forced their way into an apartment and threatened the residents. The suspects demanded and took property  before fleeing the scene.     Later that evening, at approximately 11:51 p.m., officers located the Sanchez's vehicle leaving the Winco parking lot near Lancaster Drive and Rickey Street SE.
