Salem Police Dept.  - 04/29/18  On April 29, 2018 at approximately 6:00 pm, the Salem Police Department received a call of a shooting. Officers responded to the 900 block of Vineyard Ave NE and located an adult female who had been shot. Due to her injuries the female was transported by medics to the Salem Hospital. Officers secured the scene and detectives were called in. At this time no suspects are in custody. This is an ongoing investigation and updates will be released when more information becomes available.

Sheriff's Office  - 04/29/18  On April 29, 2018 at 9:30am the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office arrested JOSHUA SEAN PURDUE in the area of NE 60th Avenue and NE Prescott Street in Portland.  PURDUE was taken into custody without incident, and will be lodged at the Multnomah County Detention Center on a Probation Violation detainer.  Additional charges may be filed pending the completion of the investigation into PURDUE's escape from custody on April 28, 2018.  No additional information related to this arrest will be released at this time. Inmate Walks Away From Work Crew

Multnomah Co. Sheriff's Office  - 04/28/18  On April 28, 2018 at 3:20pm a Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Work Crew was working near SW 12th Avenue and SW Morrison Street in downtown Portland.  At that time, the work crew deputy supervising the group notified dispatch that inmate JOSHUA SEAN PURDUE had walked away. Law Enforcement personnel from the Portland Police Bureau and Multnomah County Sheriff's Office were called to the scene to begin searching for PURDUE while the remainder of the inmates were secured. PURDUE remains at large at this time.  PURDUE is described as a white male, 34 years of age, 5’10” tall and weighs 180 pounds.  He has brown hair and blue eyes. Oregon State Police Investigating Multiple Deer that were shot with Arrows

Oregon State Police  - 04/28/18  On April 27, 2018 Central Point Fish and Wildlife Troopers were called to the Shady Cove area to investigate a live deer that had been shot with an arrow which was still stuck in the deer. The troopers and ODFW responded in an effort to investigate and possibly tranquilize the deer to be able to remove the arrow.  Information learned was that the deer was able to feed and walk around.  They were unable to locate the deer.  A trooper responded later that evening and found not one, but two deer that had arrows protruding from them.  The injuries to the deer did not appear to be life threatening.  Additional information was received that there might actually be a third deer with an arrow stuck in it.  A reward is being offered by the Oregon Hunters Association through the Turn-in-Poachers (TIP) program for any information leading to an arrest in this or any other wildlife case. Oregon State Police - 04/28/18 5:14 PM Missing La Grande Man Found Safe

Oregon State Police  - 04/28/18  On Saturday, April 28, 2018, at approximately 10:15 AM, OSP was notified that the missing CMV driver, Jacob Aaron CARTWRIGHT had returned home and was en-route to Grande Ronde Hospital in La Grande for medical evaluation.  An OSP Senior Trooper from the La Grande Area Command responded to the hospital and positively identified CARTWRIGHT. CARTWRIGHT informed the Trooper that he had encountered snow and mud on the roadway and his vehicle combination began to slide toward a steep embankment.  CARTWRIGHT was unsure of the name of the location where this occurred but provided information that a road that he had traveled onto began with a “G.”  Forest Service Road 51, which is also known as Grande Ronde River Road, is located approximately 1.5 miles east of the area of the last known GPS location the night that CARTWRIGHT went missing.  Forest Service Road 51 travels south of State Route 244 near milepost 35.  With this new information, an OSP aircraft

Oregon City Police Dept.  - 04/28/18  The Oregon City Police Department is looking for the public's assitance in identifying an ID theft suspect.  On March 31st, 2018 at around 6:23 a.m. an unknown male suspect attempted to purchase tools using a stolen credit card from the Home Depot located at 2002 Washington St. in Oregon City, Oregon. The suspect is a white male adult, who at the time was wearing black pants and a black and gray stripped long sleeve shirt.  The suspect is also associated with a blue or dark colored Ford Econoline van. Anyone who might have information about the suspect are encouraged to call the Oregon City Tip Line at 503-496-1616.

Critical Injury Crash on Highland Ave; One Airlifted to Hospital

Redmond Police Dept.  - 04/28/18  Redmond, OR – On April 27, 2018, at approximately 1:53 PM, Redmond Police Officers, and fire personnel from Redmond Fire & Rescue were dispatched to a reported head-on two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck on SW Highland Ave near SW 31st Street.  While Officers were responding, additional information received by Deschutes County 911 Dispatch indicated one of the drivers was not breathing and unconscious. Redmond Police Officers arrived on scene to find the driver of a small passenger vehicle with ineffective breathing and was still unconscious.  The driver was being tended to by several people who had stopped at the scene.  Officers quickly and correctly determined the driver need to be removed from the vehicle to perform life-saving measures.  Officers and off-duty out of the area medically trained individuals rendered aid until relieved by Redmond Fire & Rescue medic who arrived later.  Life Flight was dispatched to the scene and l

Babysitter receives prison sentence for burning 10 month old baby boy

Multnomah Co. District Attorney's Office  - 04/27/18  Today, Multnomah County District Attorney Rod Underhill announced a prison sentence for a 22 year old man convicted of the assault and criminal mistreatment of a 10 month old baby boy. On April 27, 2018, Sean Anthony Middleton appeared before Multnomah County Circuit Court Judge Eric L. Dahlin and pleaded guilty to one count of felony criminal mistreatment in the first degree and two counts of assault in the third degree. The defendant was immediately sentenced to 18 months in prison for the criminal mistreatment conviction and received a 14 month concurrent prison sentence on one of the assault charges. On the other assault charge, the defendant received 60 months of formal probation. As part of the sentencing, upon the defendant’s release from prison, he will remain on 36 months of post-prison supervision. Single Vehicle Crash in the Umatilla National Forest results in the death of a Stanfield man

Oregon State Police  - 04/27/18  On Thursday, April 26, 2018 at approximately 10:32am Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on the Texas Bar Road in the Umatilla National Forest, near MP 4. Preliminary investigation showed the 2009 Ford F150 operated by Randy JONES, age 53, of Stanfield was  westbound on the Texas Bar Road when the vehicle left the roadway and traveled approximately 360-400 feet down a steep embankment before coming to rest on its top, in the North Fork John Day River.  JONES received fatal injuries due to the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. JONES was properly restrained in the vehicle and was not ejected.  Grant County water rescue secured the vehicle and confirmed his presence before vehicle was moved.  Speed is being considered as a possible contributing factor.  The deputy medical examiner on scene believed the crash occurred the morning of the 26th. Suspect in Custody After Early Morning Stabbing in Deschutes River Woods

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office  - 04/27/18  On April 27, 2018 at about 1:11am, deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to an address in the 19300 block of Kiowa Road, south of Bend, regarding a stabbing that had just occurred.  The 39 year old female caller told Deschutes County 911 dispatchers she and possibly one other person at the location had been stabbed.  The suspect, 43 year old Marcus S. Steel of Bend, was the female caller’s ex-boyfriend and she reported he had left the scene on foot. Deputies, Oregon State Police troopers, and City of Bend police officers responded to the area and set up a perimeter around the area.  An Emergency Phone Network broadcast, or EPN, was sent out to residences in the area alerting them to the police activity and asking residents to secure their homes and report any sightings to 911.  Steel was not immediately located during the search. Portland Police Bureau  - 04/27/18  On Thursday, April 26, 2018, at approximately 9:05 a.m., members of the Portland Police Bureau Detective Division's Detective Coordination Team (DCT) arrested 40-year-old Raji Afife Azar. Azar was lodged in the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Aggravated Theft in the First Degree, Theft in the First Degree (ten counts), Laundering a Monetary Instrument, and Computer Crime Felony (15 counts). This investigation began in early 2018 when Fred Meyer's Organized Retail Theft Unit Investigators learned Azar was the leader of a fencing operation that involved the theft and sale of merchandise from multiple stores in the Portland metropolitan area. During the investigation, the Fred Meyer's Organized Retail Theft Unit worked with the Northwest Organized Retail Crime Alliance and learned Azar had solicited multiple people to steal from various business throughout the area. Washington Co. Sheriff's Office  - 04/27/18  April 27, 2018 – Additional information is being released regarding yesterday’s plane crash outside of Hillsboro that injured two people. Both occupants were taken to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center as trauma entry patients. The pilot, 88-year-old Gennaro Avolio of Hood River, OR, was transported by Life Flight helicopter. He is listed in serious condition. The passenger, 73-year-old Gary Hagstrom of Canby, OR, was transported by Metro West Ambulance. He is listed in critical condition. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) are continuing their investigation. Bend man arrested after attempting to flee from a traffic stop

Bend Police Dept.  - 04/27/18  On April 26th 2018 around 9:19 PM, an officer with the Bend Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after the officer observed several traffic violations. The traffic stop occurred in the area of NW Revere Avenue and NW Wall Street. After contacting the driver of the vehicle, identified as Ryan Jones, the officer returned to his patrol vehicle and learned that Jones had a warrant for his arrest. The officer then observed Jones exit his vehicle and start walking away from the scene. The officer advised Jones that he was under arrest at which point Jones started to run from the scene. After a short foot pursuit, Jones was taken into custody in the courtyard of Wall Street Suites located at 1430 NW Wall Street. While taking Jones into custody, Jones resisted arrest and assaulted two officers. Cottage Grove pair arrested with Methamphetamine and Guns

Lincoln Co. Sheriff's Office  - 04/27/18  On 4/25/2018 at approximately 1:20 AM, Deputy Parsons and Senior Deputy Carter with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office initiated a traffic stop on a Honda Accord for a minor traffic violation near Highway 101 and NE 25th St., Newport. The vehicle stopped in the parking lot of Walmart where deputies contacted 23 year old Marcus Anthony West and 21 year old Destiny Rose Honer, both of Cottage Grove. Deputy Carter observed what appeared to be unusual behavior on the part of Destiny Honer while she was being contacted.  Further investigation revealed Honer had been attempting to conceal two shotguns between the driver and front passenger seats.   During the investigation deputies located 5.47 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, ammunition, the two shotguns, and a several hundred dollars in cash. Two Men Seriously Injured After Plane Crashes Outside Hillsboro

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office  - 04/26/18  April 26, 2018 – Two men were seriously injured after their plane crashed into an orchard outside of Hillsboro. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration are investigating. On April 26, 2018, at 4:18 p.m., Washington County dispatch received information from the Hillsboro Airport regarding an approaching aircraft experiencing engine trouble. At 4:20 p.m., dispatch received reports of a plane crash in the 1000 block of Southwest 331st Avenue outside of Hillsboro. Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies, along with deputies serving the City of Cornelius, responded and located a single-engine Yakovlev Yak-52 aircraft that had crashed into an orchard. Oregon State Police  - 04/26/18  The Oregon State Police is assisting the Union County Search and Rescue team and Sheriff’s Office in locating 22 year old Jacob Aaron CARTWRIGHT, from La Grande.  CARTWRIGHT’s last contact was on April 24th at approximately 5:30PM, when he was in the area of Pendleton.  CARTWRIGHT was operating a green 2005 Kenworth commercial motor vehicle (CMV) with the company name “Little Tree Transportation” on it with a white semi-trailer.  The license on the CMV is an Oregon plate YAIN63.  At the time, CARTWRIGHT was en route to make a delivery in Nyssa, Oregon by 7:30AM on April 25th. GPS information for the CMV on April 26th at approximately 12:00PM, in the area of Hwy 244 near MacIntyre Road, which is just west of Hilgard State Park.  This area has been searched by OSP aircraft and continues to be searched by ground rescue personnel.  This area is very remote, heavily wooded with rough terrain and very expansive. Eleven People Displaced Due to Fire in Beaverton Apartment Complex

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue  - 04/26/18  Just before 11a.m. this morning, callers to 9-1-1 reported smoke and flames coming from a patio and siding of a two-story apartment building located in the Sterling Pointe complex in the 14400 block of SW Teal Blvd. in Beaverton. First-arriving firefighters observed flames shooting through the roof. Some firefighters began to fight the fire from outside the building while others searched the units closest to the fire to ensure that all of the people and pets were safely evacuated. Prior to firefighters’ arrival, a grounds employee was able to get two dogs out of an apartment adjacent to the fire unit. Two people were evaluated by medical personnel at the scene but were released and uninjured. No firefighters were injured either. Hillsboro Police Dept.  - 04/26/18  Hillsboro Police Department’s K9 Dozer will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Dozer’s vest is sponsored by an anonymous sponsor and will be embroidered with the sentiment “In memory of Chicken, Miss Kitty and K9 Billy”. Delivery is expected within eight to ten weeks. Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a 501c (3) charity located in East Taunton, MA whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. Oregon State Police Investigating Shooting in Merlin

Oregon State Police  - 04/26/18  On April 25th, at approximately 9:17pm, OSP Troopers from the Grants Pass Area Command were dispatched to a report of a shooting in the 9700 Block of Monument Drive in Merlin.  Upon arrival Troopers discovered a male subject, later identified as Joshua Nathan MOORE, age 28, suffering from a single gunshot wound. Detectives from the Oregon State Police Major Crimes Section in Central Point were contacted and responded to the scene. As a result of the investigation, a person who was determined to be the shooter was identified and initially detained. This person is continuing to cooperate with the investigation. This is an ongoing investigation and no arrests or charges have been made at this time. MOORE was transported by air ambulance to Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford and is still in ICU in serious condition.

Dogs Kill Sheep; Deputies Seek Owner

Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office  - 04/26/18  SAMS VALLEY, Ore. – Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies are trying to identify the owners of two aggressive dogs in Sams Valley.  The dogs reportedly killed a sheep and then charged at its owner. On Thursday, April 26, 2018, at about 1:00 a.m., dispatch received a 911 call from the 11000-block of Duggan Road reporting dogs were killing livestock.  Deputies arrived to find a deceased sheep on the complainant’s property. The livestock owner reported the dogs charged her when confronted, then fled.  Deputies were unable to locate the dogs in the area.  The case remains under investigation. The dogs are described as a large tan Shepherd-type dog, and a large black Labrador-type dog.  Both dogs had light-colored bandana collars. James Frackowiak arrested on multiple counts of Aggravated Theft, Securities Fraud for allegedly defrauding elderly couple; additional 'Frack Income Fund' victims sought

Sheriff's Office  - 04/26/18  Please reference CCSO Case #  17-009525 From a Clackamas County Sheriff's Office investigation,  James Robert Frackowiak , 43, of Canby, was arrested on multiple charges of Aggravated Theft and Securities Fraud. Frackowiak is accused of a scheme involving the sale of allegedly fraudulent investments in a "Frack Income Fund" that cost an elderly Clackamas County couple hundreds of thousands of dollars. Detective are seeking possible additional victims. The case began nearly one year ago, in April 2017. The elderly couple's granddaughter approached the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office with concerns that her grandparents were being defrauded by Mr. Frackowiak through personal loans and life-insurance policy purchases and sales. Deputies Searching for Theft Suspects in Stolen Vehicle

Sheriff's Office  - 04/25/18  April 25, 2018 – The Sheriff’s Office and Portland Police Bureau are seeking information regarding the suspects in multiple thefts from vehicles and fraudulent credit card transactions around Beaverton and Portland. On April 16, 2018, Portland Police Bureau officers took a report of a vehicle stolen overnight from the 7400 block of Southwest 37th Avenue in Portland. The vehicle was described as a blue 2005 Toyota Sienna minivan with the Oregon plates 253HTX. Credit cards left inside the vehicle were later used to make fraudulent transactions at multiple businesses in Portland. On April 19, 2018, Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to two theft from vehicle calls that occurred within blocks of each other overnight in Aloha. Deputies learned that a handgun was stolen from inside a vehicle in the 400 block of Southwest 195th Avenue. A second vehicle was entered in the 200 block of Southwest 192nd Place. Credit card

Sexual Harassment on the River Trail

Bend Police Dept.  - 04/25/18  On April 21st, officers with the Bend Police Department responded to the Deschutes River Canyon Trail at 9:15pm for the report of a female that was physically groped. The reported offense occurred on the east side of the river, in the secluded area near the southern foot bridge. When officers arrived, they contacted a 45 year old female Bend resident. The female had been running with her dogs on the trail prior to being assaulted. The female noticed a male approaching her and she attended to her dogs to accommodate both of them to be on the trail. As the female was tending to one of her dogs, the male walked past her and grabbed her waist and buttock areas. The female was able to get away from the male, but one of her dogs ran off during the attack. An extensive search for the male was completed by the Bend Police Department to include searching with a police canine team consisting of Officer Uballez and “Kim” and the deployment of a drone. FBI & Springfield Police Ask for Public's Help Finding Armed Bank Robber

FBI - Oregon  - 04/25/18  The FBI and Springfield Police Department are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating the person responsible for an armed bank robbery last week. The person robbed the Pacific Cascade Federal Credit Union at 1190 Mohawk Boulevard at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, April 17th. The suspect entered the credit union, approached the teller desk, demanded cash, got cash and left the bank. It is possible that the suspect used a getaway car. During the robbery, the suspect presented a gun that was in a holster under a hooded jacket. Investigators believe the suspect is a white woman in her late 40's to early 50's, but investigators have not ruled out the possibility that the robber may be a man. The suspect wore black plastic square-framed glasses and appeared to have long blonde hair.  The suspect was wearing blue denim jeans, a black t-shirt and oversized hooded royal blue rain-jacket.  The suspect also wore a camouflage boonie-style cap. Newport Fire Department  - 04/25/18  A 10:43 PM on April 24, 2018, Newport Fire Department was dispatched to a fire at a commercial structure located at 730 NE 3rd Street. First in fire department units arrived to discover Unit A of the structure involved in smoke and fire. The space was unoccupied at the time of the fire. Fire crews quickly deployed hose lines to extinguish the structure. Newport Fire Department received mutual aid assistance from Toledo Fire Department and Depoe Bay Department. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Drunk Driver Arrested on Tuesday Evening After Crashing Into Multiple Cars in Southeast Portland

Portland Police Bureau  - 04/25/18  On Tuesday April 24, 2018, at 5:45 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of a hit and run crash in the area of Southeast 82nd Avenue and Foster Road where the suspect driver was being detained by witnesses. Officers arrived at the scene and learned that the suspect crashed into several cars along 82nd Avenue. There were no injuries as a result of these incidents. The driver, 36-year-old Dustin Rowe, was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver (Hit and Run), Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII), and Reckless Driving. Siletz Valley School Staff Member Arrested for Sex Abuse Charges

Lincoln Co. Sheriff's Office  - 04/25/18  On January 9, 2018, the Lincoln county sheriff’s office was notified of possible inappropriate contact between a staff member and a minor student at the Siletz Valley School in Siletz, OR. During the investigation the staff member was identified as Joseph Patrick Bailor. The investigation revealed inappropriate contact between Joseph Bailor and the female student occurred in a public location inside the Siletz Valley School during normal school hours. Detectives interviewed multiple witnesses and reviewed digital video evidence which resulted in the case being referred to the Lincoln County District Attorney’s Office for consideration of charges of Sexual Abuse in the Third Degree. On April 11, 2018 a misdemeanor warrant was issued for Joseph Bailor regarding this investigation. Suspects in Stolen Vehicle Crash through Yards of Several Residences in NE Bend

Sheriff's Office  - 04/24/18            On April 23, 2018, at approximately 8:33 pm, deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a report of a vehicle that had just been stolen from the Shell Tumalo Country Store. The owner of the vehicle told dispatchers his silver 2001 Subaru Impreza had just been stolen while left running in front of the store. A few minutes later, a deputy spotted the stolen Subaru on the area of 3rd Street and Empire Avenue in Bend.  He followed the Subaru eastbound on Empire Ave., then north onto Layton Avenue, and then east onto Boulderfield Avenue.  The stolen vehicle then quickly sped away from the deputy eastbound.  The deputy activated his emergency lights and siren in an attempt to stop the stolen vehicle.  The stolen vehicle failed to yield and continued to accelerate away.  Due to the deputy being in a residential area, he reached a top speed of approximately 30 MPH while the suspect vehicle quickly
