UPDATE-Deputies Investigating Suspicious Death (Lyons)

Marion Co. Sheriff's Office  - 06/25/18 Detectives have identified the man found dead Saturday as Jonathan Liesch, 27, of Lyons. Mr. Liesch was found in a pond on property he was living on in the 20000 block of Fern Ridge Road SE. Detectives are still investigating the man's death. The Sheriff's Office is looking to speak with anyone who may have spoken with or seen Mr. Liesch over the last weekend. There are currently no additional details available at this time. Today at 2:20 p.m., deputies were called to the 20000 block of Fern Ridge Road SE near Lyons after a man was found dead in a pond near his residence.  Detectives have been called to the scene to investigate as the circumstances surrounding the man’s death are suspicious.  It is very early in this investigation and no additional information will be made available until an autopsy can be performed, that time frame is not yet known.

RPD Arrest Fleeing Suspect With Help From Downtown Businesses

Redmond Police Dept.  - 06/25/18  Redmond, OR – Today, June 25, 2018, at approximately 11:24 AM Redmond Police Officers were called to Satterlee Jewelry, at 513 NW Fir Ave, after employees discovered an unknown male in a restricted area of the store.  The male left with two other people when confronted by staff. Redmond Officers located the group of three in the area W Antler Ave and NW 5th Street.  When an Officer attempted to initiate contact, one of the males fled on a bicycle.  Officers gave chase, and with significant help from three different downtown business employees, the suspect was caught and arrested in the alley-way behind Kobold Brewing, and Westside Taco Company. Other Officers also gave chase to the two other people who also ran.  They were eventually contacted as well.  A downtown business employee alerted Officers that the suspects attempted to hide property from a backpack in some landscaping nearby.  That property has recovered and is currently in our p

Burglar Caught in Concessions Stand

Sheriff's Office  - 06/25/18  GOLD HILL, Ore. – A Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputy responding to a report of noise at the Gold Hill Little League fields Saturday night caught a suspect in the act of burglarizing the concessions stand.  On June 23, 2018, at 9:37 p.m., a neighbor called to report a banging sound coming from the concessions stand area. Chase Alan Martin, 18, was inside the building when the deputy arrived.  Deputies found that Martin had caused extensive damage to the concessions stand and another small building.  The air conditioning until had been removed to gain entrance and the inside of the concessions stand was ransacked.  Damages total at least $2000.  Martin was apparently under the influence of alcohol and marijuana.  Martin was initially uncooperative with deputies, but they were able to take him into custody.  The incident occurred two days after Martin’s 18th birthday, however he was lodged at the juvenile detention center in Medford

Man Dies in Gold Hill Motorcycle Crash

Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office  - 06/25/18  GOLD HILL – A motorcycle crash claimed the life of a 58-year-old man in Gold Hill on Saturday night.  No other vehicles or persons were involved in the crash.  On June 23, 2018, at 9:08 p.m., bystanders called 911 to report a crash involving a single motorcycle.  Callers reported the motorcycle operator was injured and unresponsive.  The motorcycle operator, later identified as Gary Patrick Hansen, of the 85000-block of Lorane Highway, was pronounced dead at the scene by Rogue River Fire District medics.  Hansen also reportedly had ties to the Jackson County area. Witnesses told deputies they saw the motorcycle, a red 2017 Harley Davidson FLH, headed north on Second Avenue.  For an unknown reason, the motorcycle veered off the pavement and hit the gravel shoulder.  Deputies say the motorcycle and rider crashed in the gravel and came to rest approximately 50 yards from where they left the roadway.  Hansen was wearing a helmet, but it ca

Newport Police Dept.  - 06/25/18  On 06/21/18, at approximately 1:46 p.m., in the area of Sam Case School, a Newport Police K9 Officer witnessed Douglas Graham operating a vehicle with a suspended license. The Officer conducted a traffic stop for the violation and identified the passenger in the vehicle as Athena Watkins, both are residents of the Newport area. The K9 officer discovered that Newport Police Department had been receiving information over several months, that Graham was actively involved in the sale of illegal narcotics. The K9 officer then deployed NPD’s Narcotic Detection K9, Nero, on Graham’s vehicle.  Nero positively alerted to the presence of an illegal narcotics odor coming from Graham’s vehicle.  A subsequent search of the vehicle produced a large amount of Methamphetamine, packaging materials, digital weigh scales, various paraphernalia items and a sum of U.S. currency. Salem Police Dept.  - 06/24/18  On Sunday, June 24, 2018 at approximately 9:13 pm, Salem Police officers were called to the Walmart at 3025 Lancaster Drive NE on the report of a shooting. Officers learned that one male adult had been shot and seriously injured. The victim was transported to Salem Health by a witness prior to first responders arriving on scene. At this time no suspects are in in custody. Detectives have been called in and are responding to the scene to take over the investigation. No further information will be available until detectives have had more time to investigate the incident.   

Boat full of trash dumped in Willamette River

Clackamas Co. Sheriff's Office  - 06/24/18  On Sunday morning Marine Patrol Deputies were dispatched to an abandoned boat in the Willamette River near the Sportcraft Landing in Oregon City. Deputies arrived to find a sinking 1988 Bayliner covered in a silver tarp. The rear transom of the boat was cut our below the water line and the engine was removed. The boat was filled with household trash and construction debris. Someone had attempted to grind off all of the identifying numbers on the boat. They removed the boat from the water and are asking for any witnesses who might have seen someone launching this boat to call the tip line. Witnesses reported the boat may have been launched at the Sportcraft Landing boat launch Saturday afternoon. *Updated* Hit and Run Crash on Skyline Ranch Rd., Vehicle of Interest Sought

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office  - 06/24/18 Based on video surveillance recovered from the area around the time of this crash, the Deschutes County County Sheriff’s Office is releasing three images this afternoon of a vehicle of interest in this crash.   The vehicle was observed on video surveillance in the area and matches the description of the suspect vehicle as described by a witness.    Anyone with information as urged to call Deschutes County non-emergency dispatch at 541-693-6911.    Updated by: Sgt. William Bailey at 6:25 pm Release Date: June 24, 2018 On June 23, 2018, at approximately, 1030 hours, deputies from the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office responded to area of Skyline Ranch Road and Macapline Road for a report of a Hit and Run, vehicle versus bicyclist. .  Information gathered from witnesses on scene found a blue mid-sized pick-up truck with a white canopy had stuck a bicyclist and fled the scene.  The make and model of the vehicle is unknown but reported
