Hillsboro Police Arrest Shooting Suspect

Hillsboro Police Dept.  - 02/11/19  Detectives arrested Fidencio Diaz-Eguiza, 61, for yesterday’s shooting at 2798 Southeast Tumblestone Drive.  He was lodged in the Washington County Jail for attempted murder, second-degree assault, and unlawful use of weapon.  The 59-year-old victim, his wife, is expected to survive.

Hillsboro Police Dept.  - 02/10/19  At 4:16 p.m., officers responded to a shooting at a house in the 2700 block of Southeast Tumblestone Drive. A woman with a serious gunshot wound was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Officers seek the public’s assistance in locating a person of interest, Fidencio Diaz-Eguiza, 61. He is 5’10” tall and weighs 220 pounds.  Anyone with information is asked to call 911. The investigation is ongoing; no further details are released at this time.

Linn County Sheriff's Office Reports Arrest of Suspect in Double-Homicide

Linn County Sheriff's Office  - 02/10/19  Linn County Sheriff Jim Yon reports his deputies assisted Lebanon Police Department in the investigation of a double-homicide yesterday morning.  On February 9th at 10:53 a.m., the Linn County Dispatch Center took a 911 call reporting two people were deceased at a residence on Shannon Place in Lebanon. The Linn County Major Crimes Team consisting of the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police, Sweet Home Police Department and Albany Police Department were called to the scene.   Tammy Lee Hopper, 42, and Erik Cody Jacobs, 48 from Independence, were found to be deceased from apparent homicidal violence.  Hopper resides at the home. Investigators worked through the night processing the crime scene.  Brenton Wade Richmond, 48 of Lebanon, was identified as the suspect and arrested today in Southern California near the Mexico border.  Richmond faces charges for two counts of Aggravated Murder. One person dies in two vehicle crash on Hwy 101 near Florence - Lane County

Oregon State Police  - 02/10/19  On Saturday, February 9, 2019 at approximately 11:07 A.M. Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to a report of a two vehicle crash on Hwy 101 at milepost 193. Preliminary investigation revealed that a green 1999 Ford Explorer, operated by Jamie Jones (52) of Mapleton, was northbound on Hwy 101 when the vehicle lost control, on the snow/ice covered roadway, and entered the southbound lane of Hwy 101. The Explorer collided with a white 2015 Isuzu delivery truck, operated by Daniel Crump (25) of Reedsport, that was southbound on Hwy 101.   Crump and his passenger, Nicholas Housego (32) of Bandon,  were transported to the Florence Peace Harbor Hospital for serious injuries. Jones was transported to the Florence Peace Harbor Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Jones’ companion dog was found deceased at the scene. Hwy 101 was closed for approximately 3 hours following the crash. OSP was assisted by Siuslaw Valley Fire, Western L

Bend Police Dept.  - 02/08/19 On February 25th, 2019, a puppy was delivered to the Humane Society of Central Oregon (HSCO) with substantial facial injuries.  The puppy was immediately transferred to veterinary care where it was determined he had multiple skull fractures and an orbital fracture.  The Bend Police Department was advised of the substantial injuries due to suspicion that the puppy had received the injuries as a result of abuse. The person who delivered the puppy to HSCO, identified as Dallas Urig, initially denied ownership of the puppy and that he had located the puppy near the Pavilion the night before. Through investigation, it was determined that Dallas Urig was the owner of the puppy and he had failed to provide veterinary care that the puppy urgently needed after sustaining injuries by another dog in his household. Jackson County Sheriff's Office arrests a Rogue River woman on 2 counts of Attempted Murder in the first degree

Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office  - 02/08/19  ROGUE RIVER, Ore. – The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) has arrested a Rogue River woman on 2 counts of Attempted Murder in the first degree. Just after 10:00 a.m. JCSO received a 911 call via Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon alerting deputies of a woman who was seen in a vehicle attempting to commit suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning.  The caller had also seen a young child in the vehicle with the driver.  The vehicle had fled the scene. Personnel from JCSO were assisted by the Oregon State Police, and Rogue River Police Department in searching the area.  The vehicle was eventually located. Kyla Duncan, 49, of Rogue River, and the minor child were treated at a local hospital for the carbon monoxide.  Duncan was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on 2 counts of Attempted Murder in the first degree.  The child was released to family. The investigation is ongoing. Further details will be released as appropriate.

Two men, including an off-duty Salem Police officer, charged with multiple felonies

District Attorney's Office  - 02/07/19 Today, Multnomah County District Attorney Rod Underhill announced that 35-year-old James Entrico Cardenas and 31-year-old Seth Thomas Thayres appeared in Multnomah County Circuit Court. Cardenas is charged with two counts of aggravated theft in the first degree, four counts of burglary in the second degree and one count of unlawful possession of methamphetamine. Thayres is charged with one count of theft in the first degree and one count of unlawful possession of methamphetamine. A copy of the charging documents and four-page probable cause affidavit can be obtained using case number 19CR09145 and 19CR09146 in the Oregon eCourt Information (OECI) system. According to the probable cause affidavit, Thayres is a police officer with the City of Salem, and has been for six years. This investigation started on February 1, 2019 when law enforcement responded to a business in the 500 block of Southeast Ash Street in Portland,

Oregon State Police looking for vehicle that collided with crosswalk sign - Rockaway Beach

Oregon State Police  - 02/07/19  On January 27, 2019 at approximately 6:30 A.M. Oregon State Police responded to a crosswalk sign that had been hit in Rockaway Beach at the intersection of Hwy 101 and Washington Streets. Rockaway Beach public works values the sign at between 5 and 10 thousand dollars. Troopers were able to obtain pieces of the car and the suspect vehicle is believed to be a 2003-2006 Mitsubishi Lancer - dark silver or charcoal gray with a black grill. CODE team search warrant/ multiple arrests in Prineville

Central Oregon Drug Enforcement (CODE) - 02/07/19 After a short term investigation, the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement team, with the assistance of the Prineville Police Department and Crook County Sheriff’s Office, served a search warrant on Wednesday, February 6th, 2019 at 0930 hours at 805 SE 6th St in Prineville, Oregon. A total of seven subjects were arrested during the warrant service and Detectives seized two firearms from Rudy Parras, who is a convicted felon.  One of the firearms, a Tech 9, had the serial number obliterated.  Drugs and evidence seized supported the investigation that controlled substances were frequently being sold from the residence which included Heroin and Methamphetamine. During the execution of the search warrant, Ronda Parras allegedly swallowed Heroin just prior to contact with law enforcement officers.  Ronda Parras was subsequently transported to St. Charles Prineville, where she later fled but was apprehended a short time later by Crook Coun

Newport Police Dept.  - 02/06/19  On February 3rd,2019 the Newport Police Department responded to the 1100 Block of SW 11th Street on a report of a subject trespassing on properties and attempting  to enter residences. Officers arrived and searched the area. While in the area, an officer was flagged down by a victim, who reported the subject, later identified as Steven Philip Lent, 30, of Florence, OR, had entered the victim’s residence without consent. The victim confronted Lent, who then fled from the victim’s residence. Newport officers continued to search the area for Lent. While searching a witness called and reported they watched a male subject looking into vehicles and attempting to gain entry into vehicles near the US Coast Guard Station. The witness reported the subject gained entry into a vehicle and was driving away from the area in the vehicle. Officers located the vehicle driving northbound on Hwy 101 away from the scene. Newport Police Dept.  - 02/06/19  On February 5th, 2019 the Newport Police Department served a narcotics related search warrant at a trailer located at 3703 E Alsea Hwy, Waldport, The King Silver RV Park. Officers had been receiving information that the occupants of the trailer, Thomas Caldwell, 27, and his girlfriend, Peggy Bates, 60, had been selling large amounts of heroin and methamphetamine to others in the South County and Newport area. In addition to selling narcotics, investigators learned Caldwell and Bates were also accepting stolen property in exchange for narcotics. Newport K9 Nero was used during the service of the warrant and the subsequent search of the trailer. In the trailer officers located a Firearm, Heroin, Methamphetamine, drug packaging materials, digital scales and other evidence of drug use and sales. Sheriff's Office  - 02/06/19  UPDATE (Feb. 6, 2019) -- INVOLVED DEPUTIES CLEARED BY GRAND JURY TO RETURN TO DUTY On Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, a Clackamas County Grand Jury determined that the Jan. 19 shooting death of Mark Gago by deputies was justified. The deputies have been on administrative leave during the course of the investigation that was conducted by the Clackamas County Major Crimes Team, including investigators from  Canby Police ,  Oregon State Police , and the  Clackamas County District Attorney's Office . The deputies will be returning to duty as requirements for that transition (as stipulated by  Senate Bill 111 ) are met. Bend Police Dept.  - 02/06/19 On February 6th, 2019 at about 10:43 A.M. Bend Police Officers attempted to stop Kristen Adams who was driving a 2003 Saturn passenger car.  Police Officers were attempting to arrest Adams for a previous crime that occurred in Redmond.  When Officers activated their lights to stop Adams, she sped away.  The officer did not pursue the suspect out of safety concerns.  On February 6th at about 1047 A.M., a citizen (Paul Seronko) reported that a vehicle had crashed into his front yard on Eastview Dr.  Seronko advised the vehicle was stuck in his yard and it was occupied by one female.  Seronko provided dispatchers with the license plate number for the vehicle, which matched the vehicle driven by Adams.  Officers responded to the Eastview Dr. address. FBI - Oregon  - 02/06/19 FBI and Local Law Enforcement Partners Are Seeking Models Photographed and Potentially Victimized by Robert Arnold Koester The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Yamhill County (Oregon) Sheriff’s Office and the Carlsbad (California) Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying potential victims of a suspected serial sexual predator who took nude photos of models and is alleged to have sexually assaulted many of these models, including individuals younger than 18 years of age. Robert Arnold Koester – also known as Bert Kay, Rhake Winter, and Qitooly – age 52, has potentially been engaging in these criminal acts starting in 1994 and continuing through his initial arrest in Carlsbad, California, on November 13, 2018.  Alleged victims have been identified in multiple cities across the United States. Seeking Help from the Public to Identify Suspect

Sheriff's Office  - 02/06/19  CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Benton County Sheriff’s Office continues to seek assistance from the public in identifying a person of interest for a Criminal Mischief case from January 10, 2019. An adult male has been seen on camera building a structure in Oregon State University’s McDonald-Dunn Research Forest.  The land is located about 10 miles north of the OSU campus. According to OSU, “the Forest is extensively used for university instruction and research. Four distinct forest management themes, even-aged, two-storied and uneven-aged, plus reserved old-growth stands, allow side-by-side comparisons of the effects of implementing these themes.” The suspect is not only building a cabin-type structure, but also cutting down trees in the research forest to construct it. Deputies Investigating Plane Crash (Aurora)

Marion Co. Sheriff's Office  - 02/06/19 Today at 3:35 p.m., deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene of a plane crash at the Aurora Airport. The initial investigation is showing that a Piper Malibu Mirage was attempting to land when it struck a radio antenna sending the plane into the ground. The pilot and passenger both escaped the crash with what appears to be minor injury. Deputies will continue their investigation in coordination with the FAA. The Sheriff’s Office will release the name of the pilot once deputies have completed their investigation. That time frame is not yet know.

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office February 5th, 2019  TOKETEE FALLS, Ore. -  Douglas County Search and Rescue is searching for a missing Mt. Angel man near Toketee. At 6:00 pm on Monday, February 4, 2019, deputies were dispatched to the Glide Store to contact a man reporting he and his friend had been lost in the woods for two days. The caller, 29 year-old Anthony Fennimore of Silverton, OR, told dispatchers he and his friend had experienced vehicle problems after becoming lost and eventually walked away from the vehicle together on Friday (February 1, 2019) night. The two became separated either Saturday night or Sunday morning. On Monday, Fennimore came into contact with some citizens who gave him a ride to Glide where he made a call to dispatch. Fennimore's friend, 30 year-old Jeffery A. Vance, is still missing. Douglas County Search and Rescue has been searching and continues to try to locate Vance or the vehicle they walked away from. One person dies in three vehicle crash on Hwy 42 - Douglas County

Oregon State Police  - 02/04/19  On Monday, February 4, 2019 at 3:31 P.M. Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to a three vehicle collision on Hwy 42 milepost 76 near Winston, OR. Preliminary investigation shows that a 2001 Dodge Ram PU, operated by William Dewar (85) of Roseburg, was eastbound when it struck the back of a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado PU, operated by Patricia Unruh (66) of Winston, that was stopped waiting for traffic to clear. The impact pushed the Chevrolet Silverado into the back of a 1997 Dodge Dakota PU, operated by Allen Shoemaker (38) of Winston.  Dewar was transported to Mercy Medical Center and later to RiverBend Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries.  A passenger, Virginia Dewar (79) of Roseburg was transported to Mercy Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased from her injuries.  Neither Dewar was wearing a seatbelt.
