UPDATE -Death Investigation - Interstate 5 near exit 123 - Douglas County

Oregon State Police Oregon State Police is requesting that anyone who may have seen an altercation between the victim vehicle, a beige 1992 Honda Accord, the suspect vehicle, a late model silver four door sedan (possibly a Ford) with no license plates, and possibly a third vehicle with no description. The three vehicles were observed traveling westbound on Harvard Ave. just east of I-5 and then turning onto the southbound onramp to I-5 from Harvard Ave. Oregon State Police is asking anyone that may have observed this altercation with the three vehicles or with any information regarding this incident to contact Oregon State Police at OSP. Sheriff's Office Arrests Stayton Man for Murder

Linn County Sheriff's Office   Linn County Sheriff Jim Yon reports that on March 16, 2019 at approximately 9:50 p.m., the Linn County Sheriff’s Office received a call from METCOM 911 regarding an assault in the 41600 block of Stayton Scio Road near Stayton.  The caller hung up the phone before any additional information could be obtained. As deputies arrived at the location, they saw a person running into the residence and a person laying in the driveway.  Robert Nelson, 74,  contacted deputies outside the residence.  Robert informed deputies that his grandson, Joshua Elbert Nelson, 22,  was the person who ran inside the residence.  His son, Timothy Dean Nelson, 50,  was laying on the ground.  All three Nelsons live at this residence.  Deputies checked Timothy Nelson’s welfare and found he had died as a result of homicidal violence.  Deputies attempted to communicate with Joshua Nelson, but he would not respond to their requests.  The Linn County Regional SWAT Team was called to

St. Patrick's Day Helicopter Crash in Newberg Leaves Two Lucky Occupants

Newberg-Dundee Police Dept. On March 17, 2019 at 4:12pm, Newberg-Dundee Police Department responded to a helicopter crash in a field on the southwest corner of Hwy 219 and NE Bell Rd in the city limits of Newberg. Upon arrival, both occupants of the aircraft had exited on their own, miraculously without injury.  The helicopter sustained major damage.  The pilot, Robert Taylor (46 years, from Washington), was accompanied by his brother, Aaron Taylor (43 years, from Beaverton).  While in flight from Beaverton to McMinnville, the aircraft lost power and an emergency landing was conducted.  The pilot’s quick thinking and extensive flying background can be credited for their survival of this crash.  Additionally, no property on the ground was damaged. Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue responded and found the scene free of fire or fuel leaks.  The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board was contacted.  The aircraft was released back to the pilot at

Oregon State Police  - 03/17/19  On Sunday, March 17, 2019 at approximately 12:00 P.M. Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to the report of a shooting that had occurred on Interstate 5 southbound near milepost 124.  Witnesses reported a subject in a late model silver four door sedan, possibly a Ford, with no license plates shot a male subject in another vehicle while traveling southbound at that location. The victim was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg for treatment of a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The suspect vehicle continued on Interstate 5 southbound from milepost 123. A witness described the driver of the silver car as a male in his 30's wearing a red baseball cap. Oregon State Police is asking anyone who sees a vehicle and subject matching that description to call 911 and do not attempt to contact as we consider the suspect armed and dangerous. Police Investigate Fatal Collision

Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore.— Last night at approximately 11:41 p.m., police responded to a collision involving a motorcycle on Hogan Dr. just north of Division St. The motorcycle was travelling northbound on Hogan Dr. when it collided with a vehicle that had been travelling southbound and was turning into a business parking lot. The motorcyclist was deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was cooperative with investigators. Police are still investigating the circumstances of the crash. Salem Police SWAT Responds to Barricaded Suspect

Salem Police Dept.  - 03/16/19  On March 16th 2019 at approximately 6:30PM a Salem Police Officer attempted to make contact with a person, whom they knew to be Jessie Guajardo, 30 years old from Salem.  Guajardo was known to have felony warrants out for his arrest.  When the officer attempted to make contact with Guajardo, he fled on foot to elude capture.  The officer exited their patrol vehicle and pursued Guajardo on foot.  During the foot chase, the officer lost sight of Guajardo.  While the officer was trying to locate the suspect, Guajardo made his way back to the original location where the officer first attempted contact with him and stole the officer's patrol vehicle.  Patrol Officers were able to quickly locate the stolen police vehicle, which Guajardo had abandoned near 23rd Street SE and Simpson Street SE.  During the course of their investigation, officers were able to determine Guajardo was in a home in the 2200 block of Simpson Street SE.  Attempts by patrol office

Arrest made in Encouraging Child Sex Abuse

Bend Police Dept. On March 13, Bend Police Detectives in assistance with Sunriver Police Department  became aware of a person inside Sunriver, Oregon downloading images depicting child pornography. The investigation revealed the images were downloaded at the residence in the 17000 block of Wickiup Lane.  Further investigation identified a local school bus driver, Karl Trinrud, as a possible suspect. On March 15, Bend Police Detectives and Sunriver Police Officers executed a warrant at Trinrud’s residence.  Trinrud had been in contact with the Bend Police Detectives and was identified as the suspect who had downloaded the images in question. Administration with the Bend-La Pine Schools was notified of Trinrud’s involvement in the case and his arrest today.  Trinrud was transported to the Deschutes County Adult Jail where he was lodged on three counts of Encouraging Child Sex Abuse in the First Degree.  Bend Police are continuing the investigation and additional charges cou

Redmond Police Arrest Two on Drug Sales Charges

Redmond Police Dept.  - 03/17/19  Redmond, OR- On Friday, March 15th, a Redmond Police Officer contacted Krystaal Bulkley, 37-yrs of age, at her residence located at 1561 SW Canyon Drive, Redmond. Bulkley was taken into custody on Identity Theft and Forgery charges related to on-going investigations. Upon Bulkely's arrest, she was found to be in possession of heroin. As Bulkley was being taken into custody, her boyfriend, Charles Mansfield, a 29-year old Redmond resident, ran from the driveway into the house. It was then learned Mansfield had outstanding felony warrants out of the Oregon State Parole Board. Officers on scene developed information regarding a loaded shotgun in the house. Mansfield is known to law enforcement for eluding capture and violence towards the law enforcement. Efforts to negotiate with Mansfield regarding his surrender were unsuccessful. MISSING PERSON- JUSTIN GRANT BIBOW

MYRTLE CREEK, Ore.  - The Sheriff's Office is seeking information from the public regarding a missing Myrtle Creek man.  29 year-old Justin Grant Bibow last had contact with family and friends on Sunday, March 10, 2019. He was reported missing to the Sheriff's Office on Tuesday, March 12th at 3:40 PM.  Deputies have been investigating the report and have entered Bibow into a nationwide database as missing. Attempts to locate Bibow have been unsuccessful. Deputies have learned that prior to being reported as a missing person, a Salem Police Officer (Oregon) conducted a computerized records check on Bibow on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 2:27 AM. Bibow could possibly still be in the Salem, Oregon area.  Bibow is described as 5'10'' 320 lbs with hazel eyes and brown hair.
