OREGON STATE POLICE ALERTING THE PUBLIC OF AN ARMED AND DANGEROUS SUSPECT LAST SEEN IN SE OREGON

Oregon State Police On September 14, 2022 at approximately 10:19 AM, the Oregon State Police were advised Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office was in pursuit of an armed and dangerous suspect that had committed multiple violent felonies from Salt Lake City, Utah to Elko, Nevada.  The vehicle entered Oregon on Hwy 140 and was last seen northbound from Plush, OR.  The vehicle and suspect have not been located. The vehicle is described as burnt orange/silver 2001 Dodge Dakota 4-door. The plate is Nevada-436 NTR. The suspect is described as a white male adult, approximately 6 feet tall with a thin build, and beard. His clothing has been described as black jacket, brown pants with a baseball cap. The pants were also described as tan camouflage.  The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous, having committed prior home invasions and car-jackings. ARMED SUBJECT SHOOTS ARROWS AT PEOPLE AND PROPERTY IN MOBILE-HOME PARK

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office On 09/13/22 at approximately 11:28pm, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a disorderly person armed with a bow and arrows at a mobile home park in the 82000blk of Davisson Rd. south of Creswell.  The caller further stated that the male had put on an army helmet at one point.  The Sheriff’s Office received additional calls from other residents stating that the male was on the roof of a residence, shooting arrows at people.  One caller reported that the male yelled that he was going to shoot the property manager. The involved male was identified as 29 year old Jose Deleon.    Deputies arrived on scene and observed Deleon on the roof, now appearing to be unarmed.  He refused to communicate with deputies.  At one point, he jumped down onto the ground and ran from deputies.  He ran for several hundred feet before jumping into a blackberry thicket and eventually giving up.  Deleon was taken into custody at which time deputies discovered that he h

MARIJUANA SEARCH WARRANT

Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office On September 13, 2022, the Josephine Marijuana Enforcement Team (JMET) executed a search warrant in the 6000 block of Lower Grave Creek Road in Wolf Creek regarding an illegal marijuana grow site.  The search warrant was executed with the assistance of Rogue Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) and Josephine County Code Enforcement. During the execution of the warrant more than 9,000 growing marijuana plants and approximately 1,000 pounds of processed marijuana was seized and destroyed. Multiple firearms and other marijuana items were also seized.  The property also had multiple electrical, water and solid waste code violations. These violations could result in the civil forfeiture of the property.  David Norman Miller was taken into custody and lodged at the Josephine County Jail for Unlawful Manufacturing of Marijuana, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Unlawful Delivery of Marijuana and Unlawful Appropriation of Water.

Rural Metro Fire - Josephine County 9/12/22, 22:03 hrs. (NORTH GRANTS PASS) -- An Oregon Department of Transportation crew working on Interstate 5 Northbound at milepost 59 narrowly escaped injury last night, after a crash that was initially reported to 911 by nearby residents as an "explosion".  Rescue teams from Rural Metro Fire, Grants Pass Fire Rescue and AMR-Josephine County converged on the scene to find the driver of a mangled pickup truck, that had rear-ended the ODOT truck, requiring extrication.  Once removed, the driver was transported to the hospital with what appeared to be non life-threatening injuries.  Oregon State Police is investigating the cause of the crash.  This crash highlights a stark reality of the hazards faced by all crews working on the roadside, and what can lead to a worst case scenario when such a crash occurs.  Fatalities are highly possible.  Motorists in Oregon are reminded to observe ORS 811.147 that requires moving over or slowing considera

MAN ARRESTED AFTER SHOOTING AT LOCAL CLUB

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office On Saturday, August 20, 2022, in the early morning hours, deputies responded to a report of gunfire at the Sunset Strip Gentlemen’s Club located at 10205 SW Park Way in Portland. Deputies learned a physical altercation occurred between 33-year-old Joshua Michael Best and an employee. When Best was asked to leave, he threatened to shoot them. The staff member involved in the altercation sustained minor injuries.  Once in the parking lot, Best got into a vehicle to leave. As he passed the club, Best fired a handgun, hitting the building and another patron’s car. No one was shot during the incident. One employee suffered superficial injuries from bullet shrapnel.  The altercation with employees and the shooting were captured on surveillance video from the club. FATAL CRASH ON HWY 97-DESCHUTES COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 2:18 AM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on Hwy 97 near milepost 113.  Preliminary investigation revealed a northbound white Ford Expedition, operated by Ted Anderson (64) of Bend, left the roadway and rolled. Anderson was ejected from the Expedition.  Anderson sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.  Hwy 97 was closed for approximately 3 hours.  OSP was assisted by Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and ODOT. 

FATAL CRASH ON HWY 38-DOUGLAS COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Monday, September 12, 2022 at approximately 5:00 PM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on Hwy 38 near milepost 35.  Preliminary investigation revealed an eastbound blue Ford Explorer, operated by Agustin Ruiz Ambriz (59) of Springfield, failed to negotiate a curve, crossed over the westbound lane and struck a concrete irrigation canal on the westbound shoulder.   Ruiz Ambriz sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.  OSP was assisted by Elkton Fire Department, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Drain Ambulance and ODOT. 

ARMED BARRICADED SUBJECT / DEATH INVESTIGATION

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office On 09/12/22 at 3:52pm, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office received the report of a male assaulting a female at a residence on S. Ash St. near S. 2 nd  St. just south of Springfield.  The 911 caller stated that his step-father was assaulting his mother at the residence.  Deputies arrived on scene and entered the residence.  They evacuated 7 children, ages ranging from 1 – 11 years old, from within residence. A daycare business is operated at the residence.  Deputies quickly learned that the involved male had barricaded himself with an adult female hostage in the basement.  At 4:19pm, deputies heard the male state that he had a firearm and that he was going to kill her.  The Lane County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team and Crisis Negotiation Team responded to the scene.  The Crisis Negotiation Team consists of trained crisis negotiators from the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, Springfield Police Department, and Junction City Police Department.  The Springf

Marion Co. Sheriff's Office Efforts by fire personnel have been ongoing throughout the day with resources from numerous regional agencies assisting. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has remained in close contact with the Salem Fire Department who is leading firefighting efforts. After consulting with fire officials Saturday afternoon, existing Level 3 and Level 2 zones remain unchanged. Residents in evacuated areas need to be prepared for existing evacuations to remain in place overnight. We understand the hardship created by the continued evacuations and appreciate the outpouring of support shown by our community partners. FIRE UNITS PROTECT HOME FROM NEARBY RV FIRE

Douglas Co. Fire Dist. No.2 At 23:39 p.m. late Friday night Douglas County Fire District No. 2 units responded to what was  initially reported as a structure fire on Follett Street in the Newton Creek area of Roseburg. First  arriving units found a working RV fire in front of a residence. Fire crews made an aggressive fire attack while also preventing the fire from extending into the home. Police units that arrived on scene assisted with helping the property owner out of her house and to a safe distance nextdoor at her neighbor’s house.  Fire crews prevented the RV fire from causing major damage to the property owner’s home. The house sustained minor damages to the paint and one broken window. The owner’s sedan, which was parked next to the RV was also lost to fire damage. After an investigation of the fire, it was undetermined what exactly caused the fire. The fire origin was suspected near the RV’s refrigerator, but due to the extent of the fire damage correctly determining the exact

Arrest Made in Skyliners Road Shooting

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office   On 09/06/2022 at approximately 2305 hours, the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a gunshot wound on NW Skyliners Road near Forest Service Road 4606.  The Sheriff’s Office located a 17 year old male with non-life threatening injuries from the gunshot wound. He was transported to St. Charles Medical Center by Bend Fire. Officers from the Bend Police Department and the Oregon State Police also responded to the area to assist.  During the course of the investigation, it was learned the shooting occurred at a rave party off of the 4606 road.  By the time Deputies arrived in the area of the party, most people had fled.  Those still on scene advised there had been a fight between two males, one of whom had a gun. During the fight the gun went off striking the 17 year old male. Detectives from the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office processed the scene, and made contact with the male victim at the hospital. While at the hospital a second inj

Firefighters Engaging A Fire Southwest of Camas Valley

Coos FPA Firefighters from CFPA and DFPA are responding to a report of a fire Southwest of Camas Valley in the Twelvemile Creek drainage this afternoon. The fire is burning in an active logging operation in a remote access area and is roughly 10 acres. Fire crews are being assisted by several helicopters as well as landowner resources. Cause of the fire is under investigation. Lane Co. Sheriff's Office *UPDATE* 09/08/22 76 year old Walter Albert Biddle has been identified as the missing hiker that was found deceased in the area of FS Rd. #19 near milepost 5 yesterday.  Evidence suggests that Biddle drove off of the roadway for an unknown reason and crashed into the North Fork of the Willamette River near Westfir.     On September 6, 2022 at approximately 7:15pm, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office received the report of an overdue subject from the Eugene area.  A caller reported that their 75 year old family member had left to run errands and go for a short hike.  The caller believed that he had possibly gone for a hike somewhere east of Cottage Grove.  Lane County Sheriff Search and Rescue personnel including multiple volunteers responded and searched into the night.  At approximately 8:05am this morning, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the Cedar Creek Fire Incident Management Team that a crew had located a vehicle in the water off of

DETECTIVE SEEKS PUBLIC HELP TO LOCATE PERSON WHO EXPOSED HIMSELF AND GROPED A MOUNT VIEW MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office On Wednesday, September 7, 2022, a School Resource Office (SRO) from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified by Mountain View Middle School staff that a student was groped on their way to school. The SRO contacted the student and learned that while walking to school in the morning, around 9:00 am, they were in Champion Park and observed a male watching them while the male’s genitals were exposed. The student told the SRO they began walking faster towards the school, and the male began following them. The student said the male caught up to them as they walked and groped them on the buttocks.  A short time later, the male entered the school office and spoke to the staff. When the male spoke to the school staff, the staff was unaware of the incident that occurred earlier in the morning with the student. GRESHAM MAN FACES FEDERAL CHARGES AFTER OVERDOSE DEATH OF PORTLAND TEENAGER

U.S. Attorney's Office - District of Oregon PORTLAND, Ore.—A Gresham, Oregon, man is facing federal charges for selling fentanyl that resulted in the overdose death of a 17-year-old Portland teenager. Duane Robert Hill, 38, has been charged by criminal complaint with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl and possessing with intent to distribute fentanyl. According to court documents, an investigation leading to Hill began on June 16, 2022, when the Oregon-Idaho High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Interdiction Task Force (HIT), including members of the Portland Police Bureau’s (PPB) Narcotics and Organized Crime Division (NOC) and special agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), responded to the overdose death of a 17-year-old teenager in Portland. Investigators found one full and one-half blue “M-30” pill on the victim’s desk along with small amounts of an unknown crystal substance and a white powder residue. We would like to thank the Eugene Police Department, Eugene FBI office, and community members that called in tips for their assistance in this case. The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the community’s assistance in regards to a missing person from the Florence area. 34 year old Kristin Williams is believed to have left her residence on South Slough Rd on September 3rd or 4th with her 1 ½ year old daughter Skye Williams and has not been seen or heard from since.  Kristin is described as a white female, 5’5”, heavy build with blonde hair and blue eyes. Teen Dies In Fatal Crash

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office On September 6, 2022 at approximately 12:56pm, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office received the report of a single vehicle crash in the in the area of S. Willamette St. and Fox Hollow Rd. south of Eugene.  While enroute, deputies were advised that a family member of the involved driver had located the crash site after being unable to reach them by phone. Medics arrived and determined that the driver and sole occupant of the involved vehicle had died. Initial investigation revealed that a red Volvo SUV was southbound on S. Willamette St. when it left the roadway for an unknown reason and crashed.  The driver was confirmed as a 17 year old female from the Eugene area.  Her identity is being withheld at this time.

Intoxicated Driver Collides With Police Vehicle Working DUII Enhanced

Lincoln City Police   On Saturday, September 3, 2022 at around 1:07 AM, a Lincoln City Police Officer assigned to Labor Day Weekend Enhanced DUII Enforcement Operation was looking for impaired drivers.  While the Officer was driving southbound on NW Jetty Ave, a white Ford Fiesta was westbound on NW 30th St. The driver of the Fiesta failed to stop at the stop sign at NW Jetty Ave and collided with the Lincoln City Police patrol vehicle in the intersection. The impact of the collision pushed both vehicles into a hotel parking lot and both vehicles sustained extensive damage.  Following the crash, the driver of the Ford Fiesta, later identified as 24-year-old Cora Long of Siletz, Oregon, exhibited signs of intoxication. Oregon State Police responded to investigate the crash and the impairment of the Ford Fiesta driver. Pharmacy Robbery in Grants Pass

Grants Pass Police Department   Grants Pass, Ore. - On September 4 th , 2022, at approximately 1:00 pm, Grants Pass Police responded to a robbery at the Albertsons Pharmacy in the Allen Creek Shopping Center. The suspect presented a note to the pharmacy purporting to have a firearm. The suspect fled the store prior to police arrival and left in an unknown direction. No weapons were presented during the robbery, and no one was physically injured.    The suspect was described as an approximate 6’00” tall white male adult in his 40s to 50s with a thin build. The male wore a green fishing-style hat, sunglasses, a black colored facemask, and blue jeans. The Grants Pass Police Department is seeking the community’s help in identifying the pictured male. Officers respond to bear attack in West Medford

Medford Police Dept.   On 9/5/22 at approximately 8:41 p.m., officers responded to the 900 block of N. Ross Lane for the report of a woman who was attacked by a bear.  Upon arrival, officers learned the woman was in her backyard when a bear, estimated to be 150-200 pounds, rushed her and attacked her.  The woman sustained non-life threatening injuries to her left arm and left leg.  The woman’s dog intervened and was also attacked, but together, the woman and her dog were able to chase the bear off.  After the bear fled, it ran in front of a vehicle on N. Ross Lane and was struck and likely injured, but it fled from there.  Oregon State Police Troopers from the Fish and Game Division responded to assist officers with an extensive search of the area for the bear, but it was not located.  In addition, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife was notified of the incident. Several additional calls came in throughout the night with sightings in that area.  Please call MPD with any sighting

WILLAMETTE RIVER DROWNING

Benton Co. Sheriff's Office CORVALLIS, Ore.  – On September 2, 2022, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Benton County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) Marine Deputies located the deceased body of a male from the Willamette River near downtown Corvallis. BCSO Detectives responded and during the course of the investigation were able to identify the remains to be those of 45-year-old Jeffrey Alan Pearce, of Corvallis. Benton County Deputies worked with the Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office and Pearce’s cause of death was determined to be from drowning. Pearce was not wearing a life jacket. At this time, Deputies believe he had been in the river for several hours and do not believe the death was related to a criminal act.
