Illegal Marijuana Task Force Arrests 19-Year-Old Man for Selling Black Market Marijuana to Middle Schoolers via Social Media

Jackson County Sheriff's Office JCSO Case 25-2889 MEDFORD, Ore. - Illegal Marijuana Enforcement Team (IMET) detectives along with Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies arrested a 19-year-old man Saturday, May 31, for selling cannabis to middle school aged juveniles. The suspect, Jake Eugene Cunningham, 19, of Medford, is charged with one count each of unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful delivery of marijuana.  IMET detectives observed Cunningham selling marijuana to juveniles in the Rogue Valley Mall parking lot on May 31 at 3:11 PM. IMET detectives began their investigation after receiving information that Cunningham was selling cannabis and black market “Dab” vape pens to juveniles as young as 11 years old. Cunningham set up drug deals with juveniles through Instagram and Snapchat. A Portland Man Has Been Charged With Distributing Fentanyl And Possessing A Firearm Following A Fatal Overdose Investigation

Multnomah County Sheriff's Office On June 2, 2025, Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a suspected fatal overdose near Wood Village. Deputies seized a substance suspected to be fentanyl from the scene and quickly developed leads of the alleged fentanyl supply source, later identified as 43-year-old Daryl Antonio Edward Turner.  A few days later, on June 5, Multnomah County's Dangerous Drug Team (DDT) contacted Turner in Portland and seized a firearm, counterfeit pills suspected to contain fentanyl and a large amount of cash. When questioned by the DDT, Turner admitted that he possessed fentanyl for further distribution, acknowledged the dangers of fentanyl and was aware the substance could kill people. Turner is charged with distribution of fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Grants Pass Fire Grants Pass, OR - 6/11/2025 – At approximately 10:45 AM today, emergency crews from Grants Pass Fire, along with Rural Metro Josephine, responded to a rollover motor vehicle accident in the area of Rewood Hwy & Willow Ln. Upon arrival, first responders found a single vehicle on its roof with one occupant trapped inside. Due to the position and damage to the vehicle, stabilization and extrication were required to safely remove the patient. Firefighters used hydraulic rescue tools (“Jaws of Life”) to access the occupant. The patient was treated on scene by paramedics. Detectives Arrest Suspect for Murder Following Suspicious Death Investigation in Prospect, Grand Jury Indicts on All Charges

Jackson County Sheriff's Office   PROSPECT, Ore. - Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) detectives are investigating a suspicious death that occurred Thursday, June 5 outside Prospect. JCSO Patrol deputies responded to a call for a victim with a gunshot wound at 1:27 AM at a residence in the 2000 block of Shelly Drive. JCSO deputies detained a suspect when they arrived on scene.   A Mercy Flights ambulance transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. JCSO detectives and Medical Examiners arrived and took over the investigation. The victim is JR Anthony Monteleone III, 47, of Prospect. Our condolences go out to his family and friends.    The suspect, Chad Allen McPherson, 32, of Prospect, is charged with second-degree murder, and felon in possession of a firearm. Water Rescue - Salem

Salem Fire Department Yesterday afternoon, Salem Fire crews responded to a water rescue call on the Willamette River. A person was reported floating downriver without a life jacket north of Darrow Bar. Our rescue boat launched from Wallace Marine Park and located the individual several miles downstream. The person signaled for help, was safely brought aboard, and given a life jacket. After being monitored for medical needs, they were reunited with a family member at Wheatland Ferry. This call occurred during an already busy shift, which was filled with other significant incidents. It's a reminder of how quickly things can turn dangerous on the water—and how crucial it is to always wear a life jacket. More From Southern Oregon Scanner

Medford Police This morning at approximately 6:30 a.m., Medford Police officers were dispatched to the parking lot of Wilson Elementary School, where a deceased male was discovered. Detectives responded to the scene and have confirmed this is a homicide investigation. Surveillance footage obtained shows the incident occurred several hours earlier. Investigators are working to collect additional surveillance footage to identify the suspect(s) and any associated vehicle. At this time, there is no known threat to the public or school community. Off Duty Deputy Arrested for DUII, False Kidnapping Report Under Investigation

Klamath County Sheriff’s Office Date: June 7, 2025 In the early morning hours of June 6, 2025, at approximately 1:32 AM, Deputy Jacob Brandt of the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office called 9-1-1 from the Pilot Travel Center located at 3817 Hwy 97 in Klamath Falls, OR. Deputy Brandt reported he had been kidnapped at gunpoint by three Hispanic males and claimed he had been sent into the store by the suspects to retrieve snacks. Officers from the Klamath Falls Police Department, Oregon State Police, and Klamath County Sheriff’s Office responded immediately and conducted a search of the area. No suspects matching the description were located. Surveillance footage from the business was reviewed, and discrepancies in the report led to further investigation. Deputy Brandt was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and subsequently arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII). Jackson County Sheriff's Office PHOENIX, Ore. - Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies and detectives arrested a murder suspect this morning during a traffic stop on Highway 62 near Vilas Road in Medford. JCSO deputies arrested the man in connection to a suspicious death turned murder investigation that occurred in Phoenix earlier this week. The victim is Julie Renee Hastings, 60, of Phoenix. Our condolences go out to her family and friends. The suspect, William Irvin Hastings, 60, of Eagle Point, is charged with second-degree murder and first-degree abuse of a corpse. Jackson County Sheriff's Office CENTRAL POINT, Ore. – A motorcycle and an electric dirt bike collided last night killing the juvenile dirt bike rider. Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon ECSO 911 Dispatch received a call Thursday at 8:56 PM for a crash that occurred near the intersection of Ross Lane and Old Stage Road in rural Central Point. Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies, Oregon State Police, and Jacksonville Police responded along with a Mercy Flights ambulance. Next-of-kin has been notified. Klamath County, OR – June 5, 2025 At approximately 4:03 AM on June 5, 2025, deputies from the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a shooting in the 1700 block of Gary Street in Klamath Falls. Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Kane L. Harrell of Klamath Falls. Harrell was transported to a local medical facility for treatment. His condition is not being released at this time. Following an immediate investigation, 34-year-old Taylor R. Jackson of Klamath Falls was identified as the suspect. Jackson was taken into custody without further incident and lodged at the Klamath County Jail. Workplace accident at Woodburn Distribution Center results in fatality

Woodburn Police   WOODBURN, OR – Yesterday at approximately 11:39 a.m., the Woodburn Police Department was dispatched to the Winco Distribution Center (400 S. Woodland Ave, Woodburn) following a report of a workplace accident involving a forklift operator.   Preliminary investigation indicates that the incident occurred when a semi-truck was moved while a forklift operator was still inside the container.  As a result, the forklift fell from the container. Tragically, the forklift operator, Christopher Ryan De Jesus (39) from Independence, was pronounced deceased at the scene.   The semi-truck driver remained on site and is fully cooperating with law enforcement. Polk County Man Sentenced To 12.6 Years In Prison For Online Sexual Corruption of a Child

Lincoln County District Attorney's Office On May 29, 2025, Lincoln County Circuit Court Senior Judge Thomas Branford sentenced Danny Hicks (59-year-old Polk County resident) for eleven counts of felony sex crimes that were discovered during several undercover law enforcement child luring investigations. During these investigations, officers used online social media platforms to pose as 5 different underage children to investigate online crimes involving children. A Lincoln County jury listened to evidence presented during a three-day trial and on May 16, 2025, found Danny Hicks guilty of five counts of Online Sexual Corruption of a Child in the Second Degree, five counts of Luring a Minor, and one count of Purchasing Sex with a Minor. The jury also found the conduct included five separate incidents or criminal episodes which occurred over the course of three months. This case was prosecuted by District Attorney Jenna Wallace. Three Arrested Following a Menace in NE Salem

Marian County Sheriff's Office Just after 1:00 p.m. on May 29, 2025, deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of an armed individual near the 3000 block of 47th Avenue NE in Salem. While en route, deputies received updated information that a victim had been threatened with firearms. Upon arrival, deputies learned that the suspects had fled the area in a gray Nissan SUV. Deputies learned two victims had been menaced, three individuals, all armed with handguns, had menaced them before leaving the scene. The suspect vehicle was located near 25th Street NE and Claxter Road NE in Salem. A traffic stop was initiated, during which one of the vehicle’s occupants fled on foot. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Salem Police Department worked together to establish a perimeter and conducted a successful K9 track, ultimately locating and detaining the fleeing individual.
