Suspect pleads guilty to 200-months in prison

Oregon City Police Dept. This afternoon, 62-year-old, Wayne Arthur Silsbee appeared in a Clackamas County Circuit Court room to enter a plea for multiple sex crimes that occurred between September of 1995 and April of 1996. This afternoon, Silsbee pled guilty to two counts of Sodomy I, two counts of Sex Abuse I, and one count of Unlawful Sexual Penetration I.  Silsbee was sentenced to 200-months in prison.  Previous Press Release from Portland FBI, May 11, 2019: Man on the run for 23 years turns himself in to Oregon City Police Wayne Arthur Silsbee, age 62, walked into the Oregon City Police Department and turned himself in on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 4:30pm. On-line Sex Offense Investigation

Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety Grants Pass Detectives had been investigating Christopher Nettifee over the last few weeks regarding complaints that Christopher was contacting juvenile females on-line. The subsequent investigation revealed that Christopher was sending graphic  photographs of himself to a juvenile female. Christopher was also requesting nude photographs from the juvenile female in return. Christopher was arrested and lodged at the Josephine County Jail on the above listed charges. Southern Oregon Marijuana Trafficker Charged in Murder-For-Hire Plot

U.S. Attorney's Office - District of Oregon   MEDFORD, Ore.—A federal criminal complaint was unsealed today charging a Southern Oregon man and frequent marijuana trafficker with attempting to pay for the murder of an associate. John Tobe Larson, 68, of Josephine County, Oregon, is charged with using interstate commerce facilities in the commission of murder-for-hire in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1958. According to the complaint, beginning in May 2019, the Oregon State Police Southwest Region Marijuana Team (OSP-SWRMJ) learned that Larson was involved in the interstate distribution of marijuana from Southern Oregon throughout the U.S. and smuggling cash back into Oregon via a private plane Larson pilots. As a result, OSP-SWRMJ and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) began investigating Larson. By May of 2019, investigators had learned that Larson was allegedly looking for someone to murder an associate who owed him approximately $75,000 in unpaid debt. In early June, i

UPDATE: Suspect Identified After Threats with Chain and Knife

Portland Police Bureau The suspect is Christopher M. Hall, 38. He was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Attempted Aggravated Murder, Kidnap in the First Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Resist Arrest, Menacing, Theft in the Third Degree, and Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree.  Investigators learned during the arrest that, after Hall dropped the knife and tried to run again, a passerby saw what was happening, grabbed Hall, and assisted officers in making the arrest.  While we do not recommend community members become involved in making arrests for safety reasons, we appreciate the assistance and are grateful that no one was seriously injured or killed during this incident.

Male dies from fall at Smith Rock State Park

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office On August 24, 2019, at 0940 hours, Deschutes County 911 Dispatch received a call that Chaitanya Sathe, 35 year old male from Hillsboro OR had fallen approximately 100 feet near the access to Lower Gorge at Smith Rock State Park. Redmond Fire, 4 Deschutes County Sheriff's Office Deputies and 12 Deschutes County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Volunteers responded to the scene. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene.  During the investigation, it was determined the male was making his way down a climber's path toward the northeast Lower Gorge inside Smith Rock State Park, when he apparently tripped and fell approximately 100 feet.   The Deschutes County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Volunteers completed the recovery.

Man Arrested After Threats with Chain and Knife

Portland Police Bureau An adult male suspect is in custody after threatening both police and citizens with weapons in the Northwest District Neighborhood.  Central Precinct officers responded to a report of a man trying to break into the back door of a church in the 100 Block of Northwest 19th Avenue. As officers responded, they were informed that the suspect had a chain and was chasing people with it.  Officers arrived, located the suspect and they saw he was carrying a heavy chain with a padlock (photo). He ran from officers, but then turned around and swung the chain at them. He continued running and additional officers arrived. They caught up with the suspect near West Burnside Street and Northwest 18th Avenue. The suspect produced a knife (photo), grabbed a female passerby, and threatened her with the knife. MENACING ARREST

Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety On 8/22/2019 at approximately 8:06 am, Officers received a report of a female in a silver Toyota 4 door pointing a handgun at other drivers near SE M Street and SE 6th Street.  Several officers checked the area and the suspect vehicle was not located. Approximately an hour later, dispatch received a second call involving the same vehicle  near NE 7th Street and NE B Street.  The female was again menacing subjects with a handgun and fled the scene in the silver Toyota.    Officers again responded and began searching for the suspect vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a high risk vehicle stop on Ringuette Street near Union Ave.  36 year old Felicia Christine Rhodes was stopped and taken into custody on the listed charges.  She was found in possession .40 caliber handgun. Man Arrested for Attempted Murder After Ramming Motorcycle Riders

Sheriff's Office On August 22, 2019, at 7:55 p.m., deputies were dispatched to reports of a serious crash near the intersection of SW Blanton Street and SW 175th Avenue in Aloha.  When deputies arrived, they found a 1991 Kawasaki motorcycle in the bushes alongside the road. The motorcycle’s male rider and female passenger were lying in the street with severe injuries. Deputies attended to the two injured individuals until Metro West Ambulance transported them to a local hospital. Deputies learned the other vehicle involved in the crash had fled the scene. Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a silver Chevrolet sedan.   The inter-agency  Washington Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team  (CART) responded to assist in the traffic crash investigation. CART members determined that the force of the impact threw the motorcycle approximately 100 feet.    Investigators determined the driver of the vehicle to be 25-year-old Stephen Matthew Lister. Drowning Victim Located on Lost Creek Lake

Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office TRAIL, Ore. – On June 9, 2019, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) and other agencies responded to Lost Creek Lake for a reported drowning of two individuals. Deputies located the first victim, Irving Fuentes, 25, unresponsive in the water. He was transported to Providence Hospital where we was pronounced deceased. The search for the second drowning victim, Juan Carlos Fuentes, 29, has been ongoing since the incident took place in June. Police, Fire, and Search and Rescue (SAR) personnel have worked diligently to recover Fuentes for his family. Gene and Cindy Ralston, a retired couple from Idaho, were called upon for the search. The Ralston’s are experts in Side Scan Sonar and spend their retirement working to help families and searchers in situations like the one at Lost Creek Lake. James Kee Taik Park Convicted of Multiple Charges in Child Sex Abuse Case

District Attorney's Office HILLSBORO, Ore.- On August 21, 2019, Washington County Judge Charles Bailey found James Kee Taik Park, age 54, guilty of first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy and five counts of first-degree sex abuse. The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Jason Weiner. In May of 2016, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office began investigating Mr. Park after a family member alerted authorities to possible abuse. A young child known to Mr. Park made disclosures of abuse to a babysitter and a family member, prompting the investigation. During this same time frame, a second child, also known to Mr. Park, reported similar abuse. The children were then taken to CARES Northwest where forensic interviews were conducted. They told investigators that Mr. Park sexually abused them. The older child disclosed this happened to her multiple times. Mr. Park declined to be interviewed by law enforcement.
