Portland Police Bureau The investigation into the December 6, 2023 shooting of 49-year-old Michael Hart is continuing, and investigators are asking for public assistance. Hart, also known as "Nomad," was camping in a tent. Investigators would like to speak to other persons living in the area who may information about Hart or the homicide. Investigators are also interested in the pictured trailer, which was moved to an unknown location shortly after the homicide. It is believed that persons associated to the trailer may be witnesses or otherwise have information about the homicide. Missing Man Found Alive In A Dry Well

Bend Police Dept.   A Bend man who was reported missing on Dec. 25 was found alive Wednesday afternoon in a dry well inside a gated storage unit site several blocks from his home.  Officers responded to a welfare check at approximately 5:36 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 25 for 34-year-old John Michael McLerran, who had walked away from his home in the 800 block of NE Norton Avenue to get a coffee and never returned. McLerran did not take his wallet or identification with him.   At approximately 3:07 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 27, a community member called 911 to report that he’d found McLerran stuck about 6 feet below street level in a dry well in the parking lot of Norton Street Storage. Bend Police and Bend Fire & Rescue responded to the scene and were able to extract McLerran from the drain. UPDATE: GOOSE HOLLOW STABBING VICTIM IDENTIFIED, SUSPECT ARRESTED

Portland Police Bureau The victim who died after being found stabbed at the Goose Hollow Transit Station is identified as Juan Francisco Orellana-Gavarrete, 23. His family has been notified of his death and provided the attached photograph for public release. They are asking for privacy at this time. The Medical Examiner determined he died of homicide by stabbing. Preliminary investigation indicates that the fight between the victim and the suspect that preceded the stabbing happened on or near the Providence Park MAX station. The victim rode the train to the Goose Hollow station where he was reached by officers and other first responders. Homicide Detectives identified a suspect in the case, Edel Cruz-Aragon, 22, and his information was shared with law enforcement. On Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at 12:57p.m., Central Precinct officers located Cruz-Aragon at Southwest 9th Avenue and Southwest Oak Street. He attempted to walk away but the officers caught up with him and he was arrested.

GARAGE FIRE - WINSTON DILLARD FIRE DISTRICT

Winston-Dillard Fire District At 05:53 a.m. on Tuesday, crews from Winston Dillard Fire District No.5 responded to the report of a detached garage on fire. First arriving units found a working fire in an approximately 500- square-foot garage. Fire crews made an aggressive fire attack, preventing the fire from spreading to the nearby structures.   The garage and its contents were a total loss. The exact cause of the fire was undetermined after an initial fire investigation. The fire’s cause was difficult to conclude due to the extent of the fire damage in the area of origin.  The response to this incident included three fire engines, one water tender, one command unit,one ambulance, and seventeen fire personnel. Winston Dillard Fire District was assisted by Douglas County Fire District No. 2, Myrtle Creek Fire Department, Bay Cities Ambulance, and Pacific Power.               Click Here To Download Our App

VACANT DUPLEX BURNS IN SWEET HOME

Sweet Home Fire Dist. Linn County Emergency Dispatch began receiving multiple calls to 911 at 9:31 pm, reporting a fire in a vacant duplex located at 3725 Long street. Sweet Home police and fire units arrived 6 minutes later and found the structure fully involved with flames from the eves on all 4 sides, and from the windows and doors. Structures to the East and the West were threatened, but neither were damaged. A ladder truck, 3 engines, a rescue unit, an ambulance, and 3 Chief officers responded, with a total of 19 personnel all from Sweet Home Fire. The building began to collapse within minutes of arrival. Crews were able to bring the fire under control quickly, remaining on scene overhauling the structure and investigating for 2 hours. The structure was a complete loss, but was listed on the County tax assessor's website as having $0 value prior to the fire. PEDESTRIAN DIES; POLICE ASKING FOR TIPS IN HIT-AND-RUN

Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore.—A 72-year-old pedestrian who was struck by a hit-and-run vehicle has died from his injuries. Randolph James Stitt, 72, was struck by a vehicle on SE Stark St. at 192 Ave., on Nov 24. Witnesses reported that the vehicle fled northbound on 192 Ave. at a high rate of speed. Officers and medical personnel tended to the victim, who had been thrown nearly 70 feet from the impact of the crash. The victim was transported to an area trauma hospital and he succumbed to his injuries on Dec. 20. East Metro Vehicular Crimes Team members are investigating the crash. They are asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect and vehicle. The vehicle was described by witnesses as an SUV, possibly mid-size, that is light in color. Oregon State Police TILLAMOOK COUNTY, Ore. 27 Dec. 2023  – The Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife Division is seeking public assistance in locating the person(s) responsible for vandalizing an Oregon Hunters Association (OHA) walk-in-only gate in Tillamook County. The gate is located on Lost Creek off McPherson Creek Road. Troopers placed a trail camera near the Lost Creek OHA gate.
