FORMER RESTAURANT BUILDING HEAVILY DAMAGED BY FIRE

Hillsboro Fire and Rescue Multiple calls to 911 this evening beginning at 10:00 pm, reporting 10-foot tall flames and heavy black smoke coming from the back and roof of a business at 725 SW Oak Street in Hillsboro. Engine 1 arrived to find the single-story commercial building with active fire. A second alarm was activated to bring additional resources to the scene to help fight the fire. Due to the severity of the fire and concerns about the structural integrity of the building, firefighters did not make entry into the building and fought the fire from the exterior. Firefighters reported that a significant portion of the building was impacted by the fire. No injuries were reported. All eastbound lanes of SW Oak Street were closed between SW Armco Avenue and SW Dennis Avenue while one lane of westbound TV Highway was blocked for firefighting equipment and apparatus.  A fire investigator is working to determine the cause of the fire.  Hillsboro Fire & Rescue thanks its partn...

FLEEING SHOPLIFTER CAUSES CRASH AFTER ELUDING POLICE

Grants Pass Police Department On October 22, 2022, the Grants Pass Police Department received a report of a shoplifter who had fled after stealing over $1,000 in merchandise.  The suspect, later identified as Jerry Glover, was seen by store security leaving the area in a large U-Haul truck. Officers located the U-Haul stopped in a parking lot near Mill Street.  In an effort to prevent Glover from fleeing, officers attempted a driving maneuver designed for that purpose.  However, Glover struck a Grants Pass Police Department patrol car and pushed it out of the way.  Glover caused damage to the front of the police car while making concerted efforts to avoid arrest.  Fortunately, the police officer inside the marked police car was not injured. Animal Abuse Discovered in Rural Rogue River Residence, 32 Animals Rescued

Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office ROGUE RIVER, Ore. - Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies and Jackson County Animal Services Animal Control officers responded to a residence yesterday afternoon for a report of a sick dog in the front yard. Upon arrival, deputies and Animal Control officers discovered a diseased, neglected dog in the yard and two deceased dogs nearby in the same condition.    Due to the severity of the dogs’ condition, a search warrant was sought and granted for the property on the 6600 block of East Evans Creek Road in Rural Rogue River. Upon entry into the house, JCSO deputies and Animal Control officers discovered 10 more dogs suffering from the same condition. The dogs were diseased, malnourished, and close to death. Hill Man Arrested for Multiple Juvenile Sex Crimes, Special Victims Unit Detectives Looking for Other Underage Victims

Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office   GOLD HILL, Ore. - Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Special Victims Unit (SVU) detectives arrested a Gold Hill man today for multiple sex crimes involving three juvenile victims. The suspect, Ethan Lavelle Williams, 23, of Gold Hill, was charged with four counts of second-degree sexual abuse, third-degree rape, luring a minor, and first-degree online sexual corruption of a child. He is lodged in the Jackson County Jail.   JCSO SVU detectives believe there may be other victims. Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call SVU Detective Wenzel at (541) 770-8928.   This case is under investigation with SVU detectives working additional leads. Further information will come from the Jackson County District Attorney’s office. 

Search Warrant Served on Illegal Butane Hash Oil Lab

Lane County Sheriff's Office On 10-17-2022 Detectives from the Lane County Sheriff’s Office and Oregon State Police were contacted by OLCC inspectors regarding an illegal butane hash oil (BHO) extraction lab on property in the 83700blk of Raintree St. near Pleasant Hill.  OLCC had responded to the location for a site inspection of a permitted growing operation and noted the BHO lab, as well as marijuana and products outside of the permitted site.   Detectives from LCSO and OSP responded to the location and contacted the owner/permittee.  Investigators applied for and were granted a search warrant executed by detectives and DEA personnel.   Two labs were located on the property.  One inside the residential garage and another was under a covered section outside the garage.  The indoor lab was active and butane vapor was actively venting from a vessel inside the garage.    This odorless vapor is highly volatile and creates a substantial dan...

Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office On October 19, 2022, the Josephine Marijuana Enforcement Team (JMET) received information from a local trucking company that two individuals were attempting to ship approximately 600 pounds of marijuana to Illinois. After the trucking company realized what the two individuals were attempting to do, the driver unloaded his truck and advised the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office where the pallet of marijuana and the two responsible for the shipment could be found.  JMET responded to the location and contacted Moaied Maali and Arfat Najjar.  Upon investigation, detectives located and seized the 600 pounds of marijuana and $25,000 in cash that was later seized by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). Moaied Maali and Arfat Najjar were arrested and lodged in the Josephine County Jail for Unlawful Delivery of Marijuana and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. MULTI-VEHICLE CRASH INTERSTATE 5 WITH EXTENDED CLOSURE- LINN COUNTY

Oregon State Police On October 19, 2022, around 8:00 A.M., Oregon State Police Troopers responded to a multi-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 5 between milepost 228 and 211.  Interstate 5 southbound is completely blocked with a detour in place. Interstate 5 northbound is open but moving slowly. The freeway is expected to be closed most of the day. Preliminary estimates of involved vehicles are 15 to 20 Commercial Motor Vehicles and 45 passenger vehicles with one confirmed fatality.  The Oregon Department of Transportation has temporarily dropped the cable barrier to detour vehicles caught in the gridlock on Interstate 5.  School buses from Eugene have also arrived on the scene to assist in relocating 30-40 stranded motorists to Pioneer Villa at exit 216.  DEQ and HAZMAT are responding to approximately 6 of the CMVs that are leaking fluids onto the roadway.  Several public safety agencies are assisting. Sherwood Police Dept. On Monday, October 10 th , 2022, at approximately 7:04AM Sherwood Officers were dispatched to a prowler call at the Sunfield Lakes Apartment Complex. The caller reported seeing a male looking inside multiple ground floor apartment windows and appeared to know the layout of the complex. Officers arrived on scene and identified the male as Armando Servin-Talavero of Hillsboro.  Further investigation later showed that Mr. Servin-Talavero was seen outside a window with his genitals exposed while masturbating.  On Tuesday, October 18 th , 2022 Sherwood Detectives arrested Mr. Servin-Talavero for ORS 163.465 Public Indecency. FATAL CRASH ON I-84-MALHEUR COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Saturday, October 15, 2022 at approximately 11:13 PM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 84 near milepost 378.  Preliminary investigation revealed a westbound black Freightliner towing a flatbed trailer, operated by Akbar Tanai (32) of San Antonio, TX, was rear-ended by a blue Jeep Liberty, operated by Eric Torres Santana (29) of Caldwell, ID, as they traveled in the slow lane. After the initial collision the Freightliner pulled to the right shoulder and the Jeep came to rest within the fast lane. A black Honda Fit, operated by Tracy Haws (48) of Nampa, ID, was traveling in the westbound fast lane and subsequently struck the Jeep Liberty.  Eric Torres Santana and his passenger, Noel Alejandro Santana Dominguez (20) of Caldwell, ID, were ejected from the Jeep. Oregon State Police On October 3, 2022, Fish and Wildlife Troopers received information from ODFW that a collared wolf, OR88, may be deceased at a location near Little Lookout Mountain, approximately nine miles northeast of Durkee, OR. Fish and Wildlife Troopers and ODFW personnel responded to the area and located a deceased wolf on the Bureau of Land Management Property.  The wolf had injuries consistent with having been shot by a firearm.  The adult wolf, known as OR88 was a black female wolf that was part of the Lookout Mountain Pack.  Troopers believe the wolf was shot at this location on October 2, 2022.    The Oregon Wildlife Coalition and conservation partners are offering to pay an $11,500 reward that leads OSP F&W Troopers to an arrest and/or citation stemming from this incident.  Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact OSP through the Turn in Poachers (TIP) hotline at 1-800-452-7888 or dial *OSP (mobile). ...

Sheriff's Office On October 14, 2022, at about 7:30 pm a Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office deputy contacted a vehicle parked at Maud Williamson State Park.  The vehicle was remaining in the park after the park was closed.  The deputy contacted two individuals in the vehicle, who both stated they had no identification.  The female provided a valid name.  An adult male in the vehicle provided multiple different names and personal identifying information to the deputy, none of which could be confirmed as legitimate.    The on-duty sergeant browsed open-source social media using different variations of the names provided by the male subject and located an individual with a name like the name being provided.  A records check of that name showed multiple active arrest warrants out of Yamhill County, including a warrant for being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.  The deputy on scene was able to verify the subject at the park was in fact the ...

Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office On October 17, 2022, the Josephine Marijuana Enforcement Team (JMET) executed a search warrant in the 1600 block of Cedar Flat Road in Josephine County regarding an illegal marijuana grow site. The search warrant was executed with the assistance of Rogue Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) and Josephine County Code Enforcement. During the execution of the warrant more than 1,800 growing marijuana plants and approximately 100 pounds of processed marijuana was seized and destroyed.  The property also had multiple electrical, water and solid waste code violations. These violations could result in the civil forfeiture of the property.  Radoslav Bogdanov was arrested for Unlawful Manufacturing of Marijuana, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Unlawful Delivery of Marijuana and Unlawful Appropriation of Water. GRESHAM POLICE SEEKING INFORMATION ON UNSOLVED 2021 HOMICIDE

Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore.—  At around 8:45 PM on Sunday, November 28, 2021, Gresham Police responded to a call about an unresponsive male in Pat Pfeifer Park near NE 172 nd  Avenue and NE Glisan Street. Officers arrived and found the victim, 24-year-old Jose Juan Santos-Elias of Portland, dead from a gunshot wound. Several residents and people who were around the park were interviewed, however investigators believe Mr. Santos was there for a short time before he was found by the people who called 911. Police are reaching out to the public again in hopes that someone who was in the park or someone who knows something will come forward and have the courage tell police what they know about what happened that night .  Police are asking that anyone who may have witnessed this incident to call our tip line at 503.618.2719 or toll-free at 1.888.989.3505.

COMMERCIAL STRUCTURE FIRE AND SPRINKLER ACTIVATION - 970 NW VETERANS WAY

Roseburg Fire Dept. At 5:17 p.m. on October 14, 2022, Roseburg Fire Department personnel responded to a reported commercial structure fire at 970 NW Veterans Way, known as Eagles Landing.  The reporting party notified Douglas County Dispatch that a stove was on fire and that one unit of a commercial duplex was filling with smoke.   Firefighters arrived on scene to find a commercial duplex with smoke showing from the front and back door of one unit.  The sprinkler system had activated with water flowing from the structure.  Water was found to be flowing throughout the residence and out the front door of the commercial structure.  The commercial structure had an automatic fire sprinkler system installed. The sprinkler system had activated when exposed to the fire, effectively extinguishing it and preventing the fire from spreading. The fire was contained to the kitchen area of the unit where the fire originated. Marion Co. Sheriff's Office Today marks the one-year anniversary of the last known sighting of Ezra Mayhugh, an 18-year-old from the Salem area. Mayhugh was last seen after being dropped off by a friend in downtown Salem on October 15, 2021. Ezra Mayhugh was 17 at the time he was first reported missing by his family. Ezra reportedly left work after telling a friend that he had been catfished online and had to leave.  Mayhugh is approximately 5’11” tall, 130lbs, and has blonde hair with brown eyes. Investigative leads suggest it is possible he may have traveled to either Washington or California. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has worked closely with the family in the past year and has nearly exhausted all investigative leads. Grants Pass Police Department Grants Pass, Ore.:  On October 14, 2022, Grants Pass Police Detectives arrested Andrew Joseph Cooper, 39, of Central Point, for Online Sexual Corruption of a Child I. Cooper allegedly committed these crimes involving a 15-year-old female juvenile within the City of Grants Pass over the past two days. Cooper was arrested by detectives and lodged in the Josephine County Jail. Oregon State Police On October 7, 2022, OSP dispatch received a report of an Elk carcass found in the area of “Big Bend” Illahe, Oregon.    Troopers arrived on the scene of a 6x5 bull elk that was shot and left to waste.  An investigation determined the Elk was killed sometime between October 5, 2022, 5:45 P.M. and October 6, 2022, 8:00 A.M. Grants Pass Police Department Grants Pass, Ore. - On October 13, 2022, Grants Pass Police Detectives arrested Robert James Charlan, 32, of Grants Pass, for Sexual Abuse II. Charlan allegedly committed these crimes involving a 15-year-old female juvenile within the City of Grants Pass in August of 2022. Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) In the late night hours of Monday, October 10th, 2022, detectives with the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) arrested 24 year old Cory Strait of Corvallis, Oregon.  Over the course of an ongoing investigation, detectives generated reason to believe Strait would be in the Roseburg area and in possession of a large amount of cocaine for sale.     Detectives located Strait and 2 others in a vehicle pulling into a gas station at Kelly's Corner, in the 5,100 block of Hwy 99S in the Green District, just before midnight.  A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 6 ounces of suspected cocaine.     Strait was arrested and lodged at the Douglas County Jail on suspicion of Possession, Manufacture, and Delivery of Cocaine.  He was also found to have cite & release warrants out for his arrest from Linn County for Probation Violation, and Benton County for Failure to Appear.    The DINT team is a ...
