JOSEPHINE COUNTY MAN PLEADS GUILTY FOR THREATENING MASS SHOOTING AT YOUTUBE HEADQUARTERS

NB I-5 LANES CLOSED AFTER CRASH IN WILSONVILLE

ODOT: PDX, Mt. Hood All northbound lanes of Interstate 5 are closed near Elligsen Road in Wilsonville after a trucked crossed over from the southbound lanes, causing numerous crashes and mutiple injuries. Crews are setting up a detour and working to clear the vehicles stuck in the closed lanes but we don't expect to reopen the northbound lanes until Thursday afternoon.   Travelers should expect lengthy delays in the area. 

MADGE Nets 30 Pounds of Meth in Separate Cases

Medford Police On Sunday, February 16th, MADGE Detectives were conducting follow-up on a large scale drug trafficking organization, believed to be bringing methamphetamine into the Rogue Valley. Detectives identified a possible vehicle involved, which was a 2015 Nissan Rogue, registered out of California. The vehicle pulled into the Chevron gas station, 2500 Hwy 66, in Ashland. Detectives made contact with the occupants, Christian Olivarria-Aguirre, 36, and Jacqueline Castillo, 35. A consent search of the vehicle yielded 20 pounds of methamphetamine. Both were arrested and remain lodged on $500,000 bail. In another investigation on February 18th, 2020, involving a different drug trafficking organization out of California, MADGE detectives observed a 2020 GMC SUV driving northbound on I-5, which committed traffic violations. Today, Kevin Dizney, a patrol sergeant with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, was placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an administrative inquiry into alleged agency policy violations. Anytime the Sheriff’s Office receives information alleging a policy violation, we will completely investigate the allegation to determine if an agency policy violation(s) has occurred and if any personnel action is necessary.

PPB Serves Search Warrant on Suspected Drug House-7 Arrested

Portland Police Bureau On Tuesday, February 18, 2020, the Portland Police Bureau's Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) served a search warrant on a residence in the 1800 block of Southeast 92nd Avenue. During the past few months the East Precinct Neighborhood Response Team had received numerous complaints about drug activity connected to this residence. An investigation ensued, culminating in today's search warrant. The East Precinct Street Crimes Unit assisted with the warrant service today. Officers arrested seven individuals at the location all but one were lodged at the Multnomah County Detention Center: Koch, Rick --66 year old-Criminally cited due to medical condition for a warrant and new charge of Frequenting a Place a Controlled Substance is Used Turner, Lorie J -- 57 years old--Possession of a Controlled Substance, Frequenting a Place a Controlled Substance is Used and Warrants Paxton, Wade M --48 years old- Frequenting a Place a Controlled Substance is Used

HUMAN REMAINS LOCATED SOUTH OF BEND; INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office On February 17, 2020, at approximately 3:51pm, deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) were dispatched to a report of human remains that had been located on U.S. Forest Service land approximately one half mile south of the Deschutes River Woods area.  An individual hiking in the area made the discovery and reported the information to Deschutes County 911. Deputies and DCSO detectives arrived at the location and confirmed the discovery of human skeletal remains.  Deputies and detectives have worked since then, assisted by the Deschutes County District Attorney’s Office, Bend Police Department, Deschutes County Medical Examiner, and the Oregon State Police Crime Lab, to document, collect evidence, and recover the remains.   A State Forensic Anthropologist will conduct an examination of the skeletal remains in an attempt to determine identity and cause of death. SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE

Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office On Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at approximately 7:15 AM, a stranger in a blue SUV offered a ride to a student waiting for the school bus.  The student did not know the male driver of the blue SUV and declined the offer for a ride to school.  The male driver was described as a white male in his 40’s, no facial hair and medium length brown hair.  The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle, which is described as a dark blue Nissan Pathfinder with large chrome wheels (photo below).  The Sheriff’s Office is asking citizens to stay vigilant for suspicious activity such as this and report strange vehicles matching the description of this vehicle.  The Sheriff’s Office non-emergent number is 541-474-5123 or call 911 for emergencies. 

FATAL CRASH ON HWY 101 - CURRY COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Monday, February 17, 2020 at approximately 3:00 P.M., Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to a vehicle crash on Hwy 101 near milepost 323. Preliminary investigation revealed that a red Ford Ranger pickup, operated by Jerry Vanhoosen (70) of Kerman, CA. had been northbound on Hwy 101 when it left the roadway, impacted a tree, and came to rest in a ravine.   Vanhoosen was pronounced deceased.  Vanhoosen had been reported missing to the Brookings Police Department on February 11 and it is believed the last known contact with Vanhoosen was on February 8. Brookings Police Department had been actively looking for Vanhoosen with assistance from the Curry County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue.

WINCHESTER BAY TEEN ARRESTED AFTER DISCHARGING WEAPON INSIDE HOME

Sheriff's Office WINCHESTER BAY, Ore . - On Thursday, February 13, 2020, at approximately 9:17 pm, deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 73000-block of Highway 101 in Winchester Bay for a report of a 17 year-old male who was shooting a gun inside a home following a disturbance. Deputies, along with multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the residence. The teen was taken into custody at 9:56 pm, without further incident.  Deputies learned that the teen became upset with his mother over his cell phone and then proceeded to assault her, before being stopped by his father.  Following the assault, the teen retrieved an AR-15 rifle and began to fire it multiple times inside the home causing a significant amount of damage. At one point, he pointed the firearm at his father, but did not fire it.  No one was injured during the incident. CALIFORNIA MAN ARRESTED IN ROSEBURG ON MULTIPLE CHARGES RELATED TO HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Roseburg Police Dept. At approximately 0357 hours on February 13th, 2020 Roseburg Police Officers observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the vicinity of the Roseburg Municipal Airport.  Officers contacted a male, Maurice Pierre Hurth, 41 years old of Suisun City, CA and 3 minor females, in the rental vehicle.  During the contact it was discovered that Hurth had multiple warrants for his arrest out of San Francisco, Fairfield, and Solano, California.  After a brief resistance, Hurth was arrested on those warrants. During further investigation it was discovered the three minor females were recently reported missing from a youth group home in the Seattle, Washington area.  They were all taken into protective custody and were later transferred to the Douglas County Juvenile Shelter. Uber Driver Charged In Sexual Assault

Medford Police Dept. On February 9th, at 2:41 a.m., officers were dispatched to a possible sexual assault that had just occurred. The victim and family reported the 21 year old victim was kidnapped and sexually assaulted by her Uber driver who was no longer on scene. The case was ultimately turned over to Medford Police Detectives. On February 11th, 2020, the Uber driver, Antonio Gonzalez-Salinas, 51 years old was arrested and lodged in jail for the following charges: Kidnapping 1st Degree Sex Abuse 1st Degree Attempted Rape 1st Degree Harassment Bail: $360,000 The investigation revealed the following: The 21 year old female victim was out with a group of friends in downtown Medford on Saturday night / early Sunday morning. The victim became intoxicated and her friends called for an Uber to take her to another friend’s house in East Medford. The Uber driver arrived at 1:29 a.m., in a black Lexus, with license plate “VOLRIS.” At about 1:45 a.m., the friends learned
