OREGON STATE POLICE REQUEST PUBLIC'S ASSISTANCE WITH THEFTS FROM STATE PARKS - LINCOLN COUNTY

  Oregon State Police On December 30, 2020 the Oregon State Police received reports of thefts at Fogarty Creek State Park , Otter Crest Scenic Viewpoint, Boiler Bay Scenic Viewpoint, and the Devils Punchbowl State Natural Area .  Oregon State Park Rangers had discovered the thefts of interpretive sign displays (photographs attached).  The approximately 2’ x 3” signs and their metal bases were removed from the parks.   The thefts are believed to have occurred between December 24, 2020 and December 30, 2020.  The Oregon State Police is investigating the thefts and requests anyone with information to contact the Oregon State Police Northern Command Center 1-800-442-0776 and leave information for Detective Brian Eskridge.

  ODOT: Valley, No. Coast:  A multi vehicle crash involving a semi truck has closed the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 about two miles south of Wilsonville. Travelers should avoid the area, use an alternative route or expect delays.

ADULT IN CUSTODY WALKS AWAY FROM MARION COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE WORK CREW

  Marion Co. Sheriff's Office Deputies are asking for the public’s help in locating an Adult in Custody, AIC, who walked away from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Work Crew. Blake Dale Johnson, 22, was working as part of a work crew project at Hillview Park, 502 Ewald Ave SE. in Salem. At around 10 a.m. on January 4th, 2021 he walked away from the work crew and his whereabouts are currently unknown. Mr. Johnson was in custody serving a sanction for a parole violation as well as a jail sentence for the crimes of Assault IV, Criminal Mischief II, and Contempt of Court. His scheduled release date was 03/23/21. Mr. Johnson is a white adult male with blue eyes and brown hair. He is 5’11” tall and weighs 190 lbs. The Marion County Transition Center prepares AIC’s for re-entry into the community prior to release from custody.   Deputies are asking anyone with information about Mr. Johnson to call the Marion County Sheriff’s Office at 503-588-5032

  Portland Police Bureau A person arrested today for attempted murder of a police officer has escaped custody from the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) Detective Division, and PPB is asking for public assistance locating him. On Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 1:30p.m., East Precinct officers located and arrested a suspect in the attempted murder of Portland Police Officer Jennifer Pierce on December 24, 2020 near Southeast 39th Avenue and Southeast Powell Boulevard. David Dahlen, 24, of Portland, was captured after a short foot pursuit in the area of Southeast 101st Avenue and Southeast Insley Street. Because the incident was an officer involved shooting, PPB Homicide Detectives were investigating. Dahlen was transported to the Detective Division in the Justice Center at 1111 Southwest 2nd Avenue for an interview. Jackson County Sheriff's Office  On December 30, 2020, the Jackson County Grand Jury convened to consider whether the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputy was justified in his use of lethal force against Anthony James Hales and whether there was sufficient evidence to return an indictment on the criminal charges against Anthony James Hales (DOB:   12/3/1995).  The incident occurred on   December 2, 2020, in the 2500 block of Agate Meadows in White City at approximately 7:59 pm. The Grand Jury was asked to consider two separate issues.  First, whether the actions of the involved deputy were justified as lawful use of force.  Oregon law provides a police officer may use deadly physical force against another person if the officer reasonably believes a person is about to use deadly physical force against the officer or another person, or it the officer’s life or personal safety is endangered in the particular circumstances. SEARCH FOR ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS IN HOLLYWOOD NEIGHBORHOOD

  Portland Police Bureau Officers from the Special Emergency Reaction Team are searching for multiple armed suspects in the blocks around the Hollywood Neighborhood. On Friday, January 1, 2021 at 1:46p.m., North Precinct officers were dispatched to a report of a robbery involving multiple suspects armed with guns at a marijuana dispensary business in the 2800 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard. Information was broadcast on multiple police radio nets describing the suspects and the vehicle in which they were seen leaving the scene. At 2:00p.m., an East Precinct officer located a vehicle matching the suspect description in the area of Northeast 99th Avenue and Northeast Prescott Street. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver did not pull over. Due to the serious nature of the crime, the officer initiated a pursuit. The vehicle drove onto Interstate-84 westbound and increased speed to an estimated 100 miles per hour. The suspect vehicle exited at Northeast 43rd Avenue.

  Eugene Police Department A call came in to Central Lane 911 at 7:08 this morning, January 1, 2021, regarding shots fired at a residence in the 800 block of Washington. Eugene Police officers were dispatched and when they arrived, they found there was an active dispute inside the residence. They sent messages to a few nearby apartments to have them evacuate for safety, due to the shots fired information.  The EPD Crisis Negotiation Team was been called out, and Eugene Springfield Fire EMS also responded to stage in case there were any injuries. Donald James Schenk, age 49, was safely taken into custody at 8:14 a.m. without incident. He will be taken to the Lane County Jail on charges of Unlawful Discharge of a Weapon and Reckless Endangering. No one was injured during the incident.  Case 2100017

  Clackamas Co. Sheriff's Office Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a shooting incident with multiple victims at a vacation-rental property shortly after midnight on Dec. 31. One victim was transported to the hospital with a chest wound, and three others had left the scene to seek treatment at area hospitals. Authorities are seeking  tips . At 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020, deputies were dispatched to a report of a shooting with injuries at 9221 SE Idleman Rd., a vacation-rental property in unincorporated Clackamas County. Deputies were able to get the 20-30 partygoers out of the house. Upon entry, they found one victim with a gunshot wound to his chest who was being attended to by partygoers. The deputies quickly stepped in and began life-saving measures. Deputies assessed the victim and applied a chest seal to his wound.   Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety In May of 2016, the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety (GPDPS) received a report involving crimes under Oregon law of Coercion, Computer Crime, and Use of a Child in Display of Sexual Conduct. The female victim, a resident of Grants Pass, had been contacted by an unknown male subject on KIK social media who claimed to have hacked her Apple iCloud account.  The suspect had obtained sexually explicit photos of the victim, taken when she was 15 years old.  The suspect threatened to send the photos to the victim’s friends and family if she did not send him more sexually explicit images and videos of herself.  After the female refused, the male suspect sent sexually explicit images of the victim (as a juvenile) to her family and friends via Facebook Messenger under an assumed name.  The investigation was assigned to a detective with the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety, who was able to trace the offender’s IP address to Calgary, Canada.  He t

  Portland Police Bureau UPDATE ShaRee Rhone was found safe last night and is back home with family. The Portland Police Bureau appreciates the public's assistance in helping find her. Portland Police Missing Persons detectives and concerned family members are asking for help from the public to look for a missing woman who has not been seen in over a week. On Tuesday, December 30, 2020 at 11:07p.m., North Precinct officers responded to a missing person call. Family and friends of ShaRee Rhone had not seen her since December 21st. The Portland Police Missing Persons Unit has taken the case and has not been able to locate her. They are hoping that the public will keep an eye out and report any information. While she does not have any known medical issues, she has struggled since the death of her daughter who was the victim of a homicide in July. She was last seen at her home in the 4500 block of Northeast Cleveland Avenue. Rhone (photo) is a black female, 64 years old, 5'5"

  Marion Co. Sheriff's Office Deputies are asking for the public’s help in locating an Adult in Custody, AIC, who walked away from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Transition Center. Jose Daniel Martinez, 26, walked away from the facility around 9:04 p.m., on Tuesday, December 29th, 2020. Martinez was in custody for a Parole Violation, his scheduled release date was March 9th, 2021. Martinez is a Hispanic adult male with brown eyes and black hair. He is 5’7” tall and weighs 220 lbs. The Marion County Transition Center prepares AIC’s for re-entry into the community prior to release from custody. AICs are allowed to leave the facility for pre-approved treatment or medical appointments.   Deputies are asking anyone with information about Martinez to call the Marion County Sheriff’s Office at 503-588-5032.

  Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore. – Gresham Police is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 76-year-old man. Joe Roper was last seen on December 23rd, 2020 at his home located in the 3800 block of SE 14th St in Gresham. Roper shows signs of early dementia. He has light brownish gray hair, blue eyes, a mustache and is missing his teeth. Roper is approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 155 pounds.  Anyone who knows of Roper whereabouts is asked to call 911.
