OREGON STATE POLICE INVESTIGATING CONSTRUCTION FLAGGER THAT WAS STRUCK - CLACKAMAS COUNTY

 Oregon State Police On Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at approximately 10:45 A.M., Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a vehicle incident on Hwy 26 near milepost 32. Preliminary investigation revealed that Portland General Electric (PGE) employees were repairing damaged power lines on the north side of Hwy 26.  A PGE truck, operated by Joshua Rinard (41) of Sandy, was being repositioned when it backed into, Brenda Stader (50) of Portland, who was working as a flagger to assist with traffic control.  PGE was utilizing flaggers contracted through Northwest Traffic Control. Stader sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. OSP was assisted by the Sandy Fire Department and ODOT.

LOCAL WORLD WAR II VETERAN TURNS 100 YEARS OLD

 Roseburg Police Dept. We had the great honor today of wishing a happy birthday to a special Roseburg resident. We were told that John Couch is turning 100 years old tomorrow, January 14th. Mr. Couch is a World War II veteran and is currently living at Bridgewood Rivers Assisted Living in Roseburg. We had a vehicle processional with representatives from the Roseburg Police Department, Roseburg Fire Department, Oregon Army National Guard's Charlie Company, and several of Couch's friends. Happy Birthday Mr. Couch! Congratulations, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your service to our great Country!

POLICE SEEK INFORMATION IN HOTEL PARKING LOT SHOOTING, TWO INJURED

 Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore. - The East County Major Crimes Team is investigating a shooting that happened late Tuesday night, resulting in two female adults being transported to the hospital.  Just after 7:18 p.m., multiple 911 callers reported hearing multiple gunshots in the parking lot of the Extended Stay located at 17777 NE Sacramento St.    Arriving officers located the two victims at the scene. The investigation is continuing and there have been no arrests made in this case yet.   Detectives want to talk with anyone who saw or heard anything regarding this incident and are asking witnesses to call GPD Detective Aaron Turnage at 503.618.3136. No other information is available at this time.

HUMAN SEX TRAFFICKING INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN INDICTMENT

  Multnomah Co. District Attorney's Office PORTLAND, Ore. – Today, Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt announced the arrest of 63-year-old John Ivezic as part of an ongoing human sex trafficking investigation. Ivezic is charged with one count of sexual abuse in the second degree, one count of sodomy in the third degree, one count of sexual abuse in the third degree and one count of purchasing sex with a minor. During this investigation, the Portland Police Bureau’s Human Trafficking Unit learned the identity of a person trafficking a young teenager. For privacy reasons, the teenager’s exact age is not being released. In February 2020, the trafficker received a 10 year prison sentence.  During the investigation, law enforcement identified Ivezic as someone who allegedly purchased sexual contact with the young teenager. THE OREGON STATE POLICE TO UTILIZE OREGON NATIONAL GUARD AT STATE CAPITOL

 Oregon State Police Oregon State Police Superintendent Terri Davie requested and was granted the activation of members of the Oregon National Guard to assist with potential upcoming civil unrest/protests by Governor Kate Brown. “The Oregon State Police will continue to take a neutral role in ensuring Oregonians exercise their First Amendment rights,” said Oregon State Police Superintendent Davie. “For the past seven months, your Troopers have responded throughout Oregon to various protests, unlawful assemblies and riots.  Our goals have always been to protect people, protect people’s rights and to protect property. RADE ARREST / SEIZURE

  Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety On 01-11-2021 at around 3:15pm, Detectives with the Rogue Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) Team, with the assistance of the Oregon State Police SW Region Marijuana Team, Oregon State Police and Grants Pass DPS Narcotic Detection K9, arrested Migueal Angel Jauregui-Hernandez. Jauregui- Hernandez is part of a drug trafficking organization (DTO) who was bringing large quantities of methamphetamine into Josephine County via California.  The investigation into this DTO has been ongoing by RADE for several months. Jauregui-Hernandez was stopped after being followed coming into Oregon from California. During the stop, GPDPS's Narcotic detection K9, Match, alerted to the vehicle having illegal controlled substances. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, detectives located 15.9 pounds of crystal methamphetamine.  Jauregui-Hernandez was taken into custody and lodged in the Jackson County Jail. Myrtle Creek Woman Missing

Myrtle Creek Police Dept A 39-year-old Myrtle Creek woman has been reported missing.  Rachel Ruth Weathers was last seen on January 5, 2021 at around 5:30 AM.  It was thought that Weathers was driving to her residence in Myrtle Creek when she went missing.   Weathers is described as 4’11” tall and around 120 pounds.  She has brown hair and eyes.  She was last seen driving her blue 4-Door 2002 Chevrolet Malibu bearing Oregon license 288HRD.  If anyone has any information on Weathers and her whereabouts or has seen Weathers or her vehicle since January 5, please contact the Myrtle Creek Police Department at 541-440-4471.   Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore.— 40-year-old Andrew Beyer failed to return from his 30-minute walk this morning.  He was last seen leaving a medical facility in the 4100 block of NE Division St. in Gresham around 8:30 a.m.  His family is concerned for his safety and asks the public for their help.    Beyer is described as a 6 feet 2 inches white male and was last seen wearing a dark colored baseball hat, brown carhart jacket, and blue jeans.   Police is asking if you have seen him, please call police at 503-823-3333.

WOMAN FOUND DECEASED IN STAYTON; DETECTIVES INVESTIGATING

  Marion Co. Sheriff's Office At approximately 7:33 p.m. on Sunday, January 10, 2021, Stayton Police responded to the 300 block of W. Water St after receiving a suspicious circumstances call.  When officers arrived, they discovered a deceased woman inside of the residence with an apparent gunshot wound.  A man at the residence was detained by Stayton Police. The deceased woman has been identified as Karen Schaefer, 70, of Stayton.  The cause and manner of her death will be determined at an autopsy scheduled for Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at the Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office. Brian Schaefer, 38, of Stayton is being charged with Murder 2 with a Firearm and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. MAN ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE CHARGES FOLLOWING MOTORHOME MAYHEM

Sheriff's Office YONCALLA, Ore.  - A man was arrested Friday after crashing into a mobile home and stripping naked, sparking several calls to 9-1-1.  On January 8, 2021, at 10:54 am, 9-1-1 dispatchers began receiving reports of a motorhome which hit a travel trailer in the Eagle Valley RV Park (221 Eagle Valley Road). The driver of the motorhome began confronting other drivers and people in the area. At one point the male attempted to open the door to another trailer in the park and stole a cell phone from a bystander with force. Callers then began reporting the male stripped nude and began hitting the windshield of another vehicle.  A deputy arrived on scene at approximately 10:57 am and attempted to defuse the situation, but the male was acting erratically. The deputy's attempts to de-escalate the situation were unsuccessful. The deputy deployed his TASER, which allowed the male to be taken into custody safely and without further incident. UPDATE - DEATH INVESTIGATION - LINCOLN COUNTY

  Oregon State Police As part of the ongoing investigation into the discovery of a female child’s remains at the Van Duzer Rest Area in Lincoln County, the Oregon State Police (OSP) continues to solicit the public’s assistance in identifying the child and the circumstances around her death.  To date, we have received over 150 tips from citizens in the United States and Canada.  We are deeply appreciative of the public’s input so far, and continue to accept information which may lead to the identification of the child. The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office has estimated the child's age to be 6.5 to 10 years old.  She is approximately 3’10” to 4’6” tall, and has long hair that is dark brown or black.  Her race or ethnic origin has yet to be determined, but DNA analysis is not complete.  A sketch completed by the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office at our request has also been released.  OSP, in partnership with the Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office, the National Center for Mi

CROOKED RIVER RANCH MAN ARRESTED ON SEXUAL ABUSE CHARGES

  Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore.  – On December 28, 2020, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation related to a sexual abuse allegation. The report was an adult male committed sexual abuse against a minor child. An additional report was made that the same male had committed sexual abuse acts against another person approximately sixteen years prior. Detectives contacted the suspect, 70 year-old Delbert Wayne Hopper of Crooked River Ranch (Oregon), and conducted an interview with him on Friday, January 8, 2021. During the course of the interview, detectives developed probable cause for his arrest. Hopper was taken into custody and lodged at the Douglas County Jail on two separate charges of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree. Hopper was lodged at the Douglas County Jail on the listed charges.

  Lane Co. Sheriff's Office Update:  The boys were found in the Autzen Stadium area and are safe. Thank you to everyone who called in tips! The Lane County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help locating two juvenile males who are believed to have run away from their foster home in the Hayden Bridge area of Springfield last night. The boys, 13 year old Tyler Perkins and 9 year old Ethan Warren, were reported missing to the Sheriff's Office shortly before 7:00 a.m. this morning by their foster parent. The boys were last seen around 10:00 p.m. last night at the home.   Tyler Perkins is a 13 year old white male standing 5'8" tall and weighing 109 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He is believed to be wearing a black and white jacket and is likely carrying a duffel bag.   Ethan Warren is a 9 year old white male standing 4'3" tall and weighing 62 pounds with dark blonde hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a white pajama top and green pa

TRAFFIC CRASH LEADS TO FELONY DRUG ARREST

  Milwaukie Police Dept. On 01-08-21, around 5:45 pm., Milwaukie Police responded to a two-vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of SE Monroe Street and SE 37th Avenue. Police arrived and determined both drivers were uninjured, and both were cooperating with the initial investigation. At one point during the investigation, one of the drivers, identified as 32-year-old Michael David Douglas Mason, abruptly ran from the scene and a foot-pursuit ensued. A K9 track was done and Mr. Mason was located hiding under a wheelchair ramp of a nearby business. A witness to the crash stated before officers arrived, Mr. Mason walked away from the scene carrying a white or grey bag, then hid the bag in some nearby bushes. The witness then watched Mr. Mason walk back to the scene 2-3 minutes later, without the bag. The witness later led officers to the bushes and the bag was located.
