SHERIFF'S OFFICE ARRESTS SUSPECT FOLLOWING WILSONVILLE WORKPLACE MURDER, PURSUIT TO WOODBURN

Clackamas Co. Sheriff's Office At approximately 8:20 a.m. this morning (Friday, Nov. 15), 911 dispatch received information that a suspect had walked into Heritage Specialty Foods (28220 SW Boberg Rd., Wilsonville) and fired multiple rounds with a handgun, killing an employee. The suspect -- identified as  Camilo Santiago-Santiago , 25, of Woodburn -- then fled the scene in a red sedan, traveling southbound towards Woodburn. Santiago-Santiago had recently been fired from Heritage Specialty Foods, and the victim --  Carl Hellinger , 36, of Portland --  was a manager at Heritage Specialty Foods. A Marion County Sheriff's Office deputy on patrol spotted the suspect vehicle and initiated a pursuit. The MCSO deputy was soon joined in the pursuit by personnel from multiple law-enforcement agencies, including the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and CCSO deputies contracted to Wilsonville PD. The pursuit continued to Woodburn, coming to a stop on a dead-end street

Fatal Crash on Interstate 5 - Lane County

Oregon State Police On Friday, November 15, 2019 at approximately 4:52 P.M. Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel  responded to a pedestrian that had been struck on Interstate 5 near milepost 174, in Cottage Grove, OR.  Preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian, identified as Andrew Evans (43) from Cottage Grove, entered the road from the southbound shoulder and into the path of a CMV operated by Ignacio Moncada (46) of Winton, CA. Evans sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. Moncada was not injured. One southbound lane was closed for 2.5 hours.  Oregon State Police was assisted by the Cottage Grove Police Department,  South Lane Fire and EMS, and ODOT.

CRASH CLAIMS THE LIFE OF A WINSTON MAN

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office WINSTON, Ore.  - On Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at 12:37 PM, 911 dispatchers received a report of a two vehicle crash in the 1300-block of Willis Creek Road near Winston.  Deputies arrived on scene and discovered a 1994 Chevrolet pickup and a 2012 Dodge 3500 pickup which were involved in a head-on collision. An investigation indicates the Chevrolet pickup, operated by 58 year-old Richard Dean Chastain of Winston, was traveling southbound when the vehicle drifted into the oncoming path of the Dodge for an unknown reason. The Dodge was operated by 28 year-old Steven Snawder of Roseburg.  Snawder was transported to Mercy Medical Center for treatment and was later released. Chastain and his two dogs were pronounced deceased at the scene. Next of kin has been notified. The crash is still under investigation, however intoxicants do not appear to be a contributing factor. VEHICLE RECOVERED FROM RIVER

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office ROSEBURG, Ore.  - On Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at approximately 11:30 AM, a deputy searching for Sean and Madison Moss located vehicle debris indicative of a vehicle crash along the riverbank of the main Umpqua River in the 11500-block of Garden Valley Road. This area is commonly referred to as Crow Rapids.  Additional resources were dispatched, including the Sheriff's Office dive team. At approximately 2:00 PM, divers located a vehicle approximately 12 feet under the water in a narrow canal.  Deputies efforts, attempts to recover the vehicle proved difficult due to the terrain of the riverbed and surrounding landscape and had  to be canceled as the sun set.  On Thursday, November 14, 2018, at 7:30 AM, efforts resumed and at approximately 10:00, the vehicle was recovered to the shore. Man Jailed on Attempted Murder and Other Charges After Shooting Another Man During College Football Game

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office On November 9, 2019, at approximately 2:49 pm, deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) were dispatched to a report of a person that had been shot in the 21500 block of Bear Creek Road.  A DCSO SWAT team and a team of DCSO negotiators were also dispatched to the scene based on the call information. Deputies arrived and located an adult male with a gunshot wound to the back of his head and neck area.  A deputy placed the male victim in his patrol vehicle and quickly transported him to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend for apparent non-life threatening injuries. Additional deputies, City of Bend Police Officers, Oregon State Police Troopers, and the DCSO SWAT team arrived at the residence and established a perimeter around the residence to contain the suspect, while ensuring public safety.  At 3:26 pm, 51 year old Christopher A. Single Vehicle Fatal Crash on Hwy 97 - Klamath County

Oregon State Police On Saturday, November 9, 2019, at approximately 10:48 P.M. Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on Hwy 97 near milepost 281.  Preliminary investigation revealed that a red Honda Civic, operated by William Ogle (23) of Klamath Falls, was traveling north on Hwy 97 when for unknown reasons left the roadway and rolled several times. Ogle sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. Hwy 97 was reduced to one lane for approximately one hour following the crash. OSP was assisted by Klamath County Fire District #1 and ODOT.  

Single Vehicle Fatal Crash on Hwy 38 - Douglas County

Oregon State Police  On Saturday, November 9, 2019, at approximately 2:45 P.M. Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a single vehicle crash on Hwy 38 near milepost 25 approximately 10 miles west of Elkton. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2016 GMC Canyon Pickup, operated by John Norlin (84) of Roseburg, was traveling on Hwy 38 when for unknown reasons left the roadway and struck a tree. Norlin sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. One lane of Hwy 38 was closed for approximately four hours after the crash. OSP was assisted Scottsburg FD, ODOT, and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Martin Allen Johnson Found Guilty of 1998 Murder of 15-Year-Old Heather Fraser

Washington Co. District Attorney's Office HILLSBORO, Ore.- On November 8, 2019, a Washington County jury found Martin Allen Johnson guilty of eight counts of first-degree murder in the 1998 rape and murder of 15-year-old Heather Fraser. The jury delivered a unanimous decision after less than three hours of deliberations. Chief Deputy District Attorney Bracken McKey and Senior Deputy District Attorney Jeff MacLean prosecuted Mr. Johnson in Judge Eric Butterfield’s courtroom. Mr. Johnson was convicted of aggravated murder in 2001. In 2017, the Oregon Supreme Court upheld a decision made by the Oregon Court of Appeals to overturn the conviction, citing inadequate representation on behalf of Mr. Johnson’s defense team during the original trial. Mr. Johnson was charged with eight counts of first-degree murder in this new case due to new guidelines established by Senate Bill 1013. Male Arrested for Child Pornography Charges

Medford Police Dept. In August of 2019, Medford Police Detectives opened an investigation into a local resident involved in the sharing of child pornography. While these images are not believed to be of local children, they were being shared and downloaded nationwide via the internet. Thanks to advancements in "Child Rescue Coalition Technology," Medford detectives were able to track these images to a computer inside a home in the 900 block of Mt. Pitt Street, Medford. A search warrant for the residence was obtained and detectives executed the search warrant on Wednesday, November 6th, 2019. Detectives found the suspect, Timothy Jay Hanson, 59 years old, at the residence, along with evidence of child pornography. Computers and electronic devices were seized during the search warrant.  Hanson was arrested on 3 counts of Encouraging Child Sex Abuse 1st Degree, and 3 counts of Encouraging Child Sex Abuse 2nd Degree, bail $100,000.

OSP Fish and Wildlife Troopers Seeking Public's Assistance in Illegal Shooting of Bald Eagle Lower Cow Creek-- Douglas County

Oregon State Police Oregon State Police (OSP) Fish and Wildlife troopers are seeking the public’s assistance regarding a bald eagle being illegally shot with a firearm on Lower Cow Creek Road near West Fork Cow Creek Road.  On November 7, 2019 at about 9:00 AM, OSP Fish and Wildlife troopers responded to a reported bald eagle that was deceased in Lower Cow Creek.  Upon examination by Fish and Wildlife troopers and personnel from Umpqua Wildlife Rescue, it was determined that the bald eagle died from being shot by a firearm.  It is believed the bald eagle had been deceased for one to two days before being reported. In conjunction with The TIP program and the Oregon Hunters Association TIP reward fund, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is offering a reward up to $2,500 for information leading to a criminal conviction of the person(s) responsible for the shooting.  The bald eagle is currently protected by the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act

Missing Person Update

Roseburg Police Dept.   On November 6th, 2019 Roseburg Police Department Detectives assisted by K9 teams from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue searched the hillside between Stewart Parkway and Garden Valley.  During the search, the body of Matthew Shelton was located in a heavily wooded portion of the hillside. No foul play is suspected, and the incident is being investigated as a probable suicide.  Next of kin have been notified.

Fatal crash on Hwy 140 - Jackson County

Oregon State Police On Tuesday,  November 5, 2019 at approximately 1:45 P.M. Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a two vehicle crash on Highway 140 at the intersection of Kershaw Road. Preliminary Investigation revealed that 2000 gold Ford Explorer, operated by Enrique Hames (25) of Argentina, was northbound on Kershaw Rd. when it failed to stop at the traffic control device onto Hwy 140.  The Ford drove into the path of an eastbound 2005 Fleetwood Motorhome operated by William Silva (41) of Grants Pass. Hames was transported with serious injuries.  Silva was transported with minor injuries. There were two passengers in the Ford - Nicole Rossi (24) of Argentina was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Cristina Hernandez Selles (26) of Spain sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.  OSP was assisted by Jackson County Fire District 3, Jackson County Sheriff's Office, and ODOT Next of kin

MISSING PERSON INVESTIGATION

Roseburg Police Dept. The Roseburg Police Department is currently trying to locate 32 year old Matthew James Shelton of Roseburg. On October 11th, 2019 Shelton's mother reported him as missing, and she indicated he last had contact with his family on October 6th, 2019. As of this date Shelton still has not had any contact with family or friends, which according to family, is very unusual for him. The Roseburg Police Department is looking for public assistance in locating Shelton, or speaking with anyone who may have had contact with him after October 6th. This is a missing person investigation only, and there is currently no evidence to believe there was any foul play. The two pictures below are the most recent of Shelton. The one in the grocery store was from the last day Shelton was seen, so those were the last clothes he was seen wearing. Father Arrested for Abandoning Child in Park

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office ROSEBURG, Ore.  - On Sunday, November 3, 2019, at 3:53 pm, 911 dispatchers received a call of a five year-old child who had been left at River Forks Park. Deputies responded and learned the father had been trying to give away another child, a 10 month-old infant, which was in his vehicle before leaving with the infant and abandoning the five year-old in the park.  Several law enforcement units from various agencies as well as Search and Rescue were dispatched to assist in locating the suspect vehicle and infant. An initial responding deputy safely recovered the five year-old at the park. Detectives were called out and the Amber Alert plan was being activated.  As the incident progressed, at approximately 6:21 pm, the suspect and the infant were located at a residence in the 1200-block of NW Hicks Street in Roseburg. Search Warrant for Illegal Marijuana Extraction Operation near Dexter -- Lane County

Oregon State Police  On October 23, 2019, the Oregon State Police (OSP) Northwest Region Marijuana team executed a search warrant at a rural property in the 38000 block of Dexter Road, near Dexter. The search warrant was executed by investigators after Inspectors with the Oregon Liquor Control Commission’s (OLCC) Medical Marijuana Division discovered an illegal marijuana extraction operation at an out-of-compliance Oregon Medical Marijuana Program (OMMP) medical grow site.  The illicit extraction laboratory was discovered operating in a makeshift outdoor structure with unsanitary conditions and was not licensed to process cannabis by OLCC, OMMP, or the Oregon Department of Agriculture’s Industrial Hemp Program.  Two suspects were located at the property.  Among evidence seized were 10 firearms, one of which was stolen, approximately 216 pounds (over 100,000 mL) of cannabis extracts and two butane hash oil extraction machines valued at $120,000.00.  Also seized were items rel

Man Arrested for Sexually Abusing Teen

Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. –  Jackson County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested a 39-year-old man Tuesday on charges related to the sexual abuse of a 16-year-old girl.  Detectives are concerned the suspect may have had contact with additional teens. The investigation began on January 12, 2019.  A 16-year-old girl reported being sexually assaulted by an older man she had met online.  The two used the Whisper phone application to communicate and later met in person.   The investigation led detectives to identify the suspect as Erik Theil Rowe, 38, of Gold Hill.  On October 29, 2019, JCSO detectives executed a search warrant at Rowe’s home in the 3200-block of Galls Creek Road.  Rowe was taken into custody at that time.  Rowe is currently lodged in the Jackson County jail on a charge of third degree sexual abuse.  A judge set bail at $10,000. HEROIN ARREST

Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) On October 16th, 2019, Roseburg Parole & Probation Officers and Roseburg Police Officers arrested 32 year old Spencer Hopkins at his residence in the 2100 block of Chinaberry Avenue in Roseburg after finding a small amount of methamphetamine in his RV.  The officers also found a small safe in the RV that allegedly belonged to 43 year old Shannon Wedekind.  Officers were suspicious of the contents of the safe and it was seized. Spencer Hopkins was lodged at the Douglas County Jail on charges of Unlawful Possession of Meth, and Parole Violation. Roseburg Police K-9 "Trapper" was allowed to sniff the safe and he alerted to the presence of narcotics.  DINT detectives seized the safe and later obtained a search warrant to open the safe and search the contents for evidence of controlled substance crimes.  Detectives located approximately 89 grams of suspected heroin along with the usual drug paraphernalia.   On October 30

Theft Suspects Flee from Deputies

Sheriff's Office JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. – Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies arrested two men Wednesday morning in unrelated incidents.  Deputies say in both cases, the suspects were believed to have been involved in stealing hemp.  Both fled when confronted. The first incident began on October 30, 2019 at 3:53 a.m.  Deputies were alerted to a suspicious vehicle parked along a hemp field near the intersection of West Griffin Creek Road and Griffin Creek Road, southwest of Medford.  Deputies arrived and tried to wake a man sleeping inside the gray Dodge Durango parked partially in the roadway.  He refused to exit the vehicle or identify himself and then drove off.  Deputies believe another person associated with the vehicle may have been left behind in the area. The driver, later identified as Jon Allen Firehammer, 45, of Grants Pass, fled through several rural properties, crashing through security gates and causing other property damage.  Deputies

REMAINS OF MISSING PERSON LOCATED AND IDENTIFIED

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office MYRTLE CREEK, Ore.  - Human remains found at the end of September have been identified as those belonging to missing person, Susan Marie Cason. Cason was initially reported missing to the Roseburg Police Department on September 13, 2019.  On Sunday, September 22, 2019, a man called to report he had located human remains in the 2000-block of Dole Road.  Deputies responded along with detectives and the Douglas County Medical Examiner. In conjunction with the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office, the remains were examined at which time positive identification was made and foul-play was ruled out.  Information about the discovery of the remains was initially withheld to protect the integrity of the investigation in the event there was a criminal component. There was never a concern about a risk to the public.  The Sheriff's Office was in communication with Cason's family during the investigation. 

Jerry and Helen Ephrem Homicides Remain Unsolved After Five Years - Crime Stoppers Featured Case #14-44

Hit and Run Vehicle Versus Pedestrian Crash -- Josephine County

Oregon State Police Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into this morning’s hit and run vehicle versus pedestrian crash on Highway 46 (Caves Highway) near the intersection of Laurel Road in rural Josephine County.  On October 30, 2019 at about 1:49 a.m., OSP troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a vehicle crash on Highway 46 (Caves Highway) near the intersection of Laurel Road. Preliminary investigation revealed that a black 1999 Mercedes C28 was traveling eastbound on Highway 46 (Caves Highway) when it struck a pedestrian in the roadway.  The driver of the vehicle fled the scene prior to the arrival of first responders. The unidentified pedestrian was transported by air ambulance to Rogue Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. OSP was assisted at the scene by Illinois Valley Fire. $1,500 REWARD OFFERED TO LOCATE WANTED MAN

Sheriff's Office DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore.  - A $1,500 reward is being offered for credible information which directly leads to the arrest of 34 year-old Jason Ryan Taylor.  Taylor is known to law enforcement in both Douglas and Josephine Counties and thus far has avoided apprehension. Taylor travels between the two counties committing crimes and victimizing property owners. Additionally, he currently has active warrants out for his arrest. Both counties have partnered with the United States Marshal's Service to bring Taylor to justice. A $1,500 reward is now being offered in hopes that anyone with information will step forward.  Those who are harboring or assisting Taylor may also face criminal penalties, including arrest.  Taylor is a white male adult described as 5'09'', 150 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes. Ohio man Arrested with large amount of Marijuana -- Klamath County

Oregon State Police On October 23rd at about 3:00 pm, an Oregon State Police (OSP) trooper stopped a 2015 Chevy Pickup on Hwy 140E near milepost 15 for a traffic violation.  During the traffic stop the trooper obtained probable cause to search the vehicle.  During the search the trooper located 632.5 lbs of marijuana and 36.8 lbs of suspected BHO (Butane Honey Oil) extract.  The driver was identified as Dustin R. Schoenhofer, age 41, from Ohio.  Through the investigation investigators learned the marijuana and BHO extract was destined for Ohio.  Schoenhofer was lodged at the Klamath County Jail for Exporting Marijuana, Exporting Extract, Possession of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana, and Distribution of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana, Possession of a Controlled Substance-Extract, and Distribution of a Controlled Substance-Extract. Oregon State Police On October 22, 2019 at about 10:00 am, the East Chicago Police Department (Indiana), arrested Kyle HANDING, age 20, on warrants issued by Josephine County Circuit Court.  This is in relation to the incident on September 30, 2019 on Wilderville Lane, near Wilderville. HANDING was lodged at the Lake County, Indiana Jail on the following charges in connection to the assault: Attempted Murder I with a Firearm (2 Counts) Assault 1 with a Firearm (2 Counts) Unlawful use of a Weapon with Firearm (2 Counts) No further information is available for release. Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) On Tuesday, October 22nd, officers from the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) worked in conjunction with members of Douglas County Parole & Probation to arrest two individuals in the Roseburg area.   Parole & Probation officers contacted 23 year old Kristin Morse of Roseburg in the 3,000 block of Aviation Drive in Roseburg.  Morse was taken into custody for a Parole Violation.  A short time later, members of DINT and Parole & Probation conducted a search of Morse's residence in the 2300 block of Carolyn Court in Roseburg.  Inside they located 29 year old Travis January, who had an active warrant for his arrest for Unlawful Possession of Heroin out of Clackamas County.   A search of the residence revealed approximately 4 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of heroin, a firearm, drug packaging materials, scales, an undisclosed amount of cash, and other drug paraphernalia.   January was taken into custody a

OSP TROOPERS MAKE AN ARREST IN A POACHED BUCK CASE IN ASHLAND- ADDITIONAL INFO- JACKSON COUNTY

Oregon State Police On October 16, 2019, an OSP Trooper responded to a complaint of suspicious hunter activity within the city limits of Ashland.  A local resident in the 600 Block of Thornton Way, reported observing a male loading a deer into a pickup while parked on a city street.  The reporting party approached the male to inquire about the deer but the male then drove off.   A license plate and make of pickup was obtained.  The Trooper arrived on scene and contacted multiple neighboring residents.  The Trooper found a short blood trail leading from a bush, which was against a neighboring house, that lead to a row of hedges along the city street.  This evidence along with the reporting party’s observations, showed that the suspected deer may have been shot while bedded down next to a house and loaded into the pickup while parked on the street.  With the help of another Trooper, the suspect was located and interviewed.  Faced with the evidence and resident observations, th

Use of Force-Death Investigation Albany Police Case #19-8833/Oregon State Police Case # 19-377585

Albany Police On October 23, 2019, at 8:20 a.m., an Albany Police Community Service Officer contacted a stranded motorist on Santiam Road at Denver Street.  The Community Service Officer requested non-emergency assistance from a patrol officer.  A physical altercation ensued between the motorist and two Albany Police personnel with the motorist assaulting the Community Service Officer. An emergency response was initiated for additional patrol officers while the subject continued fighting with Albany Police.  A Taser was deployed during the incident. The subject went limp and became unconscious.  Albany Police personnel immediately began treating the subject and employed CPR and an AED.  Albany Fire Department paramedics responded and continued CPR.  The subject passed away at the scene.       Albany Police secured the scene and notified the Linn County Major Crimes Team.  The incident is being treated as a deadly force incident and the Oregon State Police are leading the multi-

Man Facing Measure 11 Sex Crimes Cuts off His GPS Ankle Monitor

Sheriff's Office On the afternoon of Tuesday, October 22, 2019, Washington County Sheriff’s detectives were notified that Josiah Rosales, 29 of Aloha, cut off his court-ordered ankle monitor. Mr. Rosales was arrested in July of 2019 for the below-listed crimes.  On September 16, 2019, Mr. Rosales posted ten percent of his $1,250,000 bail and was released from the Washington County Jail. Mr. Rosales had several conditions associated with his release, to include wearing a GPS ankle monitor at all times. This afternoon, detectives received notification that Mr. Rosales had cut off the ankle monitor. Detectives, deputies and a canine unit searched for Mr. Rosales but were unable to locate him. Mr. Rosales currently has felony warrant out for his arrest. Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety Grants Pass Department of Public Safety Detectives received information that Kenneth Sinor was having sexual relations with 15 year old females. A subsequent investigation revealed that Sinor did have a sexual relationship with a 15 year old female.  Sinor was arrested on the listed charges and lodged at the Josephine County Jail. It is believed there are additional juvenile females who have had sexual contact with Kenneth "Jay" Sinor. ARRESTED: Kenneth "Jay" Sinor 21 years old.  CHARGES: Rape 3, Sex Abuse 2 (x2), Sex Abuse 3, and Sodomy 3 (x2)

Bend Man Arrest for Delivery LSD to a Minor

Bend Police Dept. On October 11th, 2019 a Bend Police Department School Resource Officer (SRO) received information regarding a Bend-Lapine Schools student providing LSD, a Schedule I Controlled Substance, on campus to another student. Throughout this investigation, the SRO was able to determine an adult male had recently sold the LSD to the Bend-Lapine Schools student.  Using a variety of investigative techniques, Joshua Rivas was identified as the suspect and agreed to sell LSD to a Bend Detective who was posing as a local high-school aged student.  Rivas continued to communicate and agreed to deliver LSD even after knowing the intended buyer was in high school.  The SRO and Bend Detectives contacted Rivas after he arrived in the area of 61545 S Hwy 97 to deliver the LSD.  Rivas was found to be in possession of eight (8) suspected LSD tabs and was armed with a large fixed blade knife.  Rivas was taken into custody and transported to the Bend Police Department until the SRO w

Washington County WIN Investigators Seize Cash and Drugs

Sheriff's Office On Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at 7:20 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office  Westside Interagency Narcotics  (WIN) investigators executed a search warrant in the 700 block of SE 10th Avenue, in Hillsboro. At approximately 8:25 pm, investigators served a second search warrant in the 12000 block of SW Allen Blvd, in Beaverton. Both search warrants were the result of a single investigation. Investigators located and seized 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine and 1 ounce of cocaine in the Hillsboro apartment, and an additional 4 pounds of methamphetamine and approximately $6,000 in cash at the Beaverton apartment. Further investigation led to the seizure of an additional $11,000 from bank accounts. The estimated street value of drugs removed from distribution is over $16,000. Oregon State Police On October 20, 2019, an Oregon State Police (OSP) Fish & Wildlife trooper responded to a report of a buck deer being dumped along Signal Tree Road near Camas Valley.  The trooper located the carcass of a buck deer with only the head removed.  The meat was wasted and left to rot. Homicide of Donald Polk Remains Unsolved After Nine Years - Crime Stoppers Featured Case #10-44

Crime Stoppers of Oregon The Portland Police Bureau, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for your help in solving a homicide that occurred in October 2010 at Southwest 1st Avenue and Sheridan Street. On October 21, 2010, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Portland Police officers responded to a bus shelter at Southwest 1st and Sheridan to assist medical personnel with a deceased male. Officers arrived and found 50-year-old Donald Ray Polk dead of apparent stab wounds. Homicide detectives were called to the scene to begin an investigation into Polk's death. "Pokey", as he was known to his friends, is believed to have been living on the streets at the time of his death. There is no suspect information in this case.
