Suspect with Prior Manslaughter Conviction Arrested with Loaded Firearm after Eluding Police

Portland Police Bureau On Friday, April 10, 2020 at 12:37 a.m., a Portland Police Officer assigned to the Traffic Division observed a vehicle driving 96 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone. The officer stopped the vehicle on I-205 near Northeast Killingsworth Street. The vehicle then sped off as the officer approached the window. The Portland Police Bureau's Air Support Unit maintained visual of the vehicle until it stopped in the area of Southeast 82nd Avenue and Southeast Kelly Street. East precinct officers arrived at the location and took the suspect into custody. The suspect was identified as 31-year-old Dennis Milton Perryman. Officers located a loaded handgun and several magazines in the vehicle. Upon review of criminal history, officers learned that Perryman had been convicted of Manslaughter in the First Degree in 2008. Detectives seeking witnesses to late night shooting

Oregon City Police Dept. Last night, just after 11:15 pm, we received a report of a shooting in the Berryhill Shopping Center parking lot, located at 19001 S. Beavercreek Rd.  Initial reports were of a male subject dressed in camouflage firing a gun walking through the parking lot.  We arrived and located 22-year-old, Grant Michael Joseph Aby, matching the suspect description in the parking lot.  Mr. Aby was taken into custody and was in possession of a handgun.  We did not find anyone injured at the scene.  Detectives are investigating this shooting and are asking anyone who witnessed the shooting or has information about the shooting to call the Oregon City Tip line at 503-496-1616.  Reference OCPD case #20-007930.

Deputies Arrest Individual for Burglary in Tangent

Linn County Sheriff's Office Linn County Sheriff Jim Yon reports yesterday, April 14, his deputies arrested a male at a residence on Highway 99E in Tangent. The Linn County 911 Center received a call at 5:17 p.m., stating a male had broken into the homeowner’s residence.  Deputies arrived minutes later and observed the male on the sidewalk near the location.  The male was cooperative and was quickly detained.  When asking for his name, he told them two different false names including “Joe Dirt”.  He was later identified as Marshall Rogers, 35, of Sweet Home. The deputies learned that the homeowner walked by his vacant residence saw the “For Sale” sign removed and in a shed on the property.  The homeowner went to the residence to see what was going on and Rogers came out of the house claiming it was his residence.  Rogers promptly left and walked out to the sidewalk where deputies found him. Douglas Co. Government (Douglas County, Ore.)  Since 1955, today has been ‘Tax Day’ for Americans.  But, things are a little different this year.  Due to the impact of the coronavirus on the nation, the IRS has given taxpayers an additional three months to file and pay their federal income taxes for 2019, with a new deadline and ‘Tax Day’ being July 15, 2020. The  postponement was announced  mid-March by Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.  Those who choose to take advantage of the extra time will not face any penalties or incur any interest. Taxpayers do not need to file any additional forms to qualify for these automatic deadline extensions. The IRS is urging taxpayers who are getting refunds to file as soon as possible. Most tax refunds are being issued within 21 days, the agency said. Coos Bay Police Investigate Shooting

Coos Bay Police Department On April 15, 2020 at approximately 1212 hours, officers from the Coos Bay Police Department along with the assistance of the North Bend Police Department, Oregon State Police, Coquille Tribal Police, and Confederated Tribal Police, responded to the area of John Topits park off of Ackerman Street in Coos Bay for an incident involving a man who had been shot.  When officers arrived, they were able to contact all parties involved and at this time the details to the incident are still under investigation and the injured party was transported to Bay Area Hospital with what appears to be non-life threatening injures.  The Coos Bay Police Department would like to ensure the public that all parties associated to this incident have been contacted and are accounted for; the park remains safe and open to the public. REPORT OF GUNFIRE IN CANYONVILLE

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office CANYONVILLE, Ore.  - Deputies are currently on scene of several reports of gunfire from a residence in the 400-block of SW Fourth Place in Canyonville. There are multiple law enforcement officers from several jurisdictions assisting the Sheriff's Office.  Residence in the area are being asked to lock themselves inside their homes. This is an active scene and the public and media are being asked to avoid the area for the safety of the community and law enforcement.  No further information will be released at this time. 

JUNCTION CITY POLICE NEED HELP LOCATING WANTED PERSON

Junction City Police On April 12th at about 7:34 PM an alert citizen reported a suspicious male subject in the area of 2nd and Greenwood Street.  The citizen stated the subject was acting very strange and had offered to buy the clothing some nearby children were wearing.  The subject was barefoot and requested the citizen retrieve the ignition key and a cell phone from his semi-truck that was parked nearby.  It was later determined the truck had been stolen from Seattle, Washington just two days earlier on April 10th while the driver was getting fuel.   Officers found the suspect while searching the complainant’s yard, but the suspect escaped when he fled from officers, and was never located. Further investigation determined that the cell phone retrieved by the complainant had been stolen from a second victim sometime prior to the truck theft.  Junction City dispatchers and police officers were able to positively identify the suspect in this case after conducting extensive rese

Officer-involved Shooting in 100 Block of Westbrook

Eugene Police Department Case # 20-06297 Shortly before noon on April 13, EPD Patrol responded to a townhouse in the 100 block of Westbrook Way to speak with a suspect who had refused to leave a family member’s townhouse since April 12. The EPD Crisis Negotiation Team and EPD  SWAT responded to the scene. After the suspect fired rounds from the townhouse, EPD called Central Lane 911 to request a Community Emergency Notification (CENS) be sent to residents within approximately a quarter-mile radius notifying them to shelter in place. The suspect came out the door with the rifle shortly before 12 a.m. on April 14 and shots were fired. Officers rendered emergency medical aid prior to Eugene Springfield Fire EMS care and transport to a local hospital. Douglas Co. Government (Douglas County, Ore.)  As of 12:00 pm, April 14, 2020, there are three new cases of COVID-19 in Douglas County. The number of positive cases is now at twenty total in the county.   Of the twenty, four have recovered.  There have been zero deaths and 534 negative tests for COVID-19 in the county. Douglas Public Health Network continues their epidemiologic investigations, identifying individuals who may have had close contact with individuals that have tested positive for COVID-19 and advising quarantine. Four of the individuals who tested positive earlier have now recovered. DPHN defines recovery as an end to all symptoms after a positive test for COVID-19. The next drive through COVID-19 clinic, led by DPHN is scheduled for today, Tuesday, April 14, in Roseburg.  At this time, you can only get a COVID-19 test through your healthcare provider. Government (Douglas County, Ore.)   There is a lot of buzz in the air these days about a slow down across the Country of COVID-19 reported cases.  While you may see lulls or declines in case reporting in the daily reports, the virus is not slowing down. The fact that we had 5 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, coupled with the fact that the United States just surpassed the 1.9 million case mark, should make it clear, we are not ready for residents to go back to “business as usual.”  The Douglas County COVID-19 Response Team, under the direction of the Douglas County Board of Commissioners, continue to encourage you to stay the course and follow the “Stay Home, Save Lives” orders set forth by the state. Altercation Leads to Stabbing, Winston Man Arrested

Sheriff's Office On April 12, 2020, at about 5:00 a.m., deputies responded to a disturbance occurring in the 5000 block of Rice Creek Road in Winston.  A male subject reported he had an altercation with Sabre Eddings, age 65 of Winston.  During the incident, the male was stabbed on the forearm by Eddings. Eddings had locked himself in his trailer prior to deputies arriving.  He refused to come out of the trailer and threatened to blow up the trailer with propane if deputies approached. The Sheriff's Office Crisis Negotiations Team responded to the scene and began talking to Eddings.  After several hours, Eddings came out of his trailer and was taken into custody without further incident.  He was lodged in the county jail on Second Degree Assault, Menacing and Unlawful Use of a Weapon charges.

Theft Investigation leads to the arrest of Corvallis man, Yachats, Or.

Lincoln Co. Sheriff's Office On 04/12/2020 at about 2:42 PM, Lincoln County Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to the report of Suspicious Activity/Theft at a residence off of the Yachats Ocean Road located in Yachats, Oregon. The report indicated that an unknown adult male was trespassing at the private residence, stealing exterior furniture in the process. Deputies located Patrick C. Hummel, 42 year old Corvallis resident, hiding in a wooded area adjacent to the residence, Hummel resisted arrest as he was taken into custody on multiple charges. Hummel was evaluated by medical responders after which he was transported to the Lincoln County Jail on the following charges: Criminal Trespass in the 2nd Degree, Theft in the 3rd Degree, Resisting Arrest, Escape in the 3rd Degree, and Interfering with a Police Officer.  In addition, Hummel had an active Felony Warrant issued for his arrest out of Benton County, Oregon.

Residential Structure Fire - 2462 W. Jay Avenue - 4-13-20

Roseburg Fire Dept. At 11:25 p.m. on April 12, 2020, Roseburg Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 2462 W. Jay Avenue.  An individual residing at the home reported the fire to dispatch and noted that other residents were still inside the structure.  Dispatch then received notice that all residents were able to evacuate the structure. Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy fire and smoke coming from the front and rear portions of the structure.  Firefighters made an interior attack to extinguish the fire, conducted a primary and secondary search, and completed overhaul.  Five adult residents and two dogs were displaced due to the fire.  Umpqua Valley Ambulance transported two adults from the residence to Mercy Medical Center. April 11 officer-involved shooting in Clackamas County

Sheriff's Office On Saturday, April 11, 2020, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to a report of a domestic disturbance involving a gun at a single-family residence located near SE Briggs St. and SE Evergreen St. in unincorporated Clackamas County. Deputies were advised there were three adults in the home: the adult male subject, the subject's wife, and her adult son. The male subject had been causing a disturbance that led to a  911  call just before 9:50 p.m. Dispatch advised our deputies that the male subject was reported to be displaying a gun, the son had armed himself with a pistol, and all three were inside the house together. As deputies arrived at the scene, they believed they heard a gunshot come from inside the house. Deputies established phone contact with the family inside. While outside the residence, deputies could hear the situation escalate inside. As a result, several deputies entered the home. They were
