SURVEILLANCE VIDEO SHOWS SUSPECT VEHICLE IN ALOHA EXPOSER CASE

  Washington Co. Sheriff's Office On Friday, December 4, 2020, at 6:36 p.m, Hillsboro Police Department officers responded to the Dollar Tree store at 2165 SE Tualatin Valley Highway in Hillsboro, Oregon, to a report of an adult man exposing himself to a 10-year-old girl. The man, later identified as 32-year-old Brady Overacre of Hillsboro, left the store prior to police arriving. Hillsboro Police located Mr. Overacre at his residence and placed him into custody. Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies were able to determine that Mr. Overacre was the suspect in the indecent exposure that occurred near SW 214th Avenue and SW Alexander Street in the community of Aloha on December 2, 2020. SEARCH WARRANT / METH ARREST

  Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) On Tuesday, December 1st, 2020, at approximately 10:00 PM, members of the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Summerwood Court, Roseburg (Green District).  There has been a consistent level of high volume vehicle and foot traffic coming and going from the residence for a long period of time.  The activity at the residence has been suspected to be drug related, as well as other types of lower level criminal activity.  Residences like this cause substantial livablity problems for the surrounding neighborhood.  DINT, as well as the other local law enforcement agencies try to address these issues whenever, and wherever possible.     After developing an investigation, DINT obtained a search warrant for the residence, and with the help of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, executed the warrant at approximately 10:00 PM.  The residence contained numerous people and was secured

METH ARREST

  Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) On Wednesday evening, December 2nd, 2020, DINT arrested 45 year old Clarence Whitmore of Myrtle Creek.  DINT detectives conducted an investigation that led to suspicion of Whitmore selling methamphetamine.  At approximately 11:00 PM, DINT and officers from the Myrtle Creek Police Department contacted Whitmore at a business in the 600 block of North Myrtle Road in Myrtle Creek.     A search of Whitmore revealed approximately 19.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine.  Whitmore was taken into custody without incident.  Whitmore was charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine, and Parole Violation.     Whitmore was lodged at the Douglas County Jail. 

LINN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE INVESTIGATES HOMICIDE NEAR LACOMB

  Linn County Sheriff's Office Linn County Sheriff Jim Yon reports on Tuesday, December 1, at 10:04 p.m., Linn County dispatch received a 911 hang-up call from a residence on Old Mill Road outside Lebanon.  When dispatch called the number back, a male answered the phone and a person could be heard in the background yelling for help.  Deputies responded to the location and contacted Kris Fiala, 54, who had a knife in his hand.  Deputies detained Kris, who spit blood in a deputy’s face.  Deputies found Kris Fiala’s mother, Gladys Fiala, 85, deceased.  Kris Fiala was transported to the Linn County Jail and charged with Murder in the Second Degree and Aggravated Harassment.    This investigation is on-going.  If you have any information on this case, please contact Detective John Lovik at (541)967-3950.

Roseburg contractor fined $42,000 for continued job safety violations

BEND RESIDENT SENTENCED TO FEDERAL PRISON FOR PHONING IN A HOAX THREAT OF A BOMB IN THE DESCHUTES COUNTY COURTHOUSE

  U.S. Attorney's Office - District of Oregon EUGENE, Ore.—A Bend, Oregon resident was sentenced to federal prison today for crafting a hoax bomb and phoning in a threat to blow up the Deschutes County Courthouse on July 29, 2019, announced U.S. Attorney Billy J. Williams. Kellie Kent Cameron, 32 was sentenced to 21 months in federal prison and three years’ supervised release. As part of his sentence, Cameron was also ordered to pay $43,620.18 in restitution to the Deschutes County Circuit Court, Deschutes County District Attorney’s Office, First Interstate Bank in Bend, and Bend Fire & Rescue. “Constructing a hoax bomb and threatening to blow up a courthouse to interfere with a judicial proceeding, is beyond reprehensible” said U.S. Attorney Billy J. Williams. “Courthouses are the very symbol of justice, safety and fairness in a functioning society, and this unconscionable act not only caused fear, panic and disruption in this community, it jeopardized their sense of safety.”

WOMAN RESISTS ARREST AND ASSAULTS DEPUTY

Sheriff's Office REEDSPORT, Ore.  - A 54-year-old Florence woman is in the Douglas County Jail after resisting arrest and assaulting a deputy Sunday afternoon.  Shortly before 3:00 on Sunday, November 29, 2020, a deputy made a traffic stop on a Chrysler PT Cruiser. During the course of the traffic stop, the deputy learned the female passenger, Holly Lynne Sigmund, had a warrant for her arrest. Sigmund exited the vehicle and became confrontational. When the deputy attempted to place her into handcuffs, Sigmund began resisting arrest. She retrieved a can of pork and beans and threatened to throw it at him. The deputy attempted to use his TASER device but was ineffective at which point Sigmund threw the can at the deputy's head and missed him.  The deputy then attempted to physically take Sigmund into custody. PURSUIT WEST OF LA PINE SENDS DRIVER TO JAIL WITH DRUG AND WEAPON CHARGES

Sheriff's Office On November 29, 2020, at approximately 9:49pm, a deputy with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office was patrolling in the area of Sunrise Blvd. and Rainbow Drive, west of La Pine.  The deputy observed a gray Subaru WRX driving on Rainbow Drive at a high rate of speed for the area.  The deputy then observed the Subaru turn off its lights in an attempt to avoid detection.  The deputy alerted another deputy also in the area, who observed the Subaru pull out onto Sunrise Blvd. in front of him.  The second deputy attempted to stop the Subaru, which was still driving without any lighting.  The driver of the Subaru failed to stop and attempted to elude the deputy southbound on Sunrise Blvd. at speeds estimated near 40 MPH. TROUTDALE RESIDENT ARRESTED, CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ABUSING 4 VICTIMS; LAW ENFORCEMENT SEEKS INFORMATION FROM PUBLIC

District Attorney's Office PORTLAND, Ore. – Today Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt and the Gresham Police Department are asking the public for assistance in determining whether there are additional victims of a man currently charged with sexually abusing four male victims. On November 23, 2020, the Gresham Police Department arrested 38-year-old Adrian Lewandowski. Lewandowski is charged with 13 counts of sexual abuse in the first degree, one count of attempted sexual abuse in the first degree and one count of sexual abuse in the third degree. Due to the sensitive nature of this case, law enforcement is asking media to refrain from contacting the victims or their family members regarding this case. Noah Wilson sentenced to prison for attacking Portland Police officer

District Attorney's Office   PORTLAND, Ore. – Today, Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt announced that 43-year-old Noah Wilson received a 60 month prison sentence after being convicted of attacking an officer assigned to the Portland Police Bureau’s Sex Offender Registration Detail. The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office remained in regular contact with the officer and discussed the potential pretrial resolution with her. She is supportive of this resolution and believes a prison sentence is warranted for this unprovoked attack. By pleading guilty to one count of assault in the third degree and one count of assaulting a public safety officer, Wilson admitted that he recklessly, under circumstances manifesting indifference to the value of human life, caused serious physical injury to a person he knew to be a public safety officer while that person was working in their official capacity. SHERIFF'S OFFICE RESPONDS TO SEVERAL DEADLY CRASHES IN NOVEMBER

  Washington Co. Sheriff's Office November 2020 has been a particularly dangerous month for drivers in Washington County. Since the beginning of the month, deputies have responded to six fatal crashes. The latest incident happened this morning around 8:20 a.m. near NW Main Street & NW Cottage Street in the City of North Plains. The driver, a 22-year-old man, hit an elderly woman while she was trying to cross the street. The driver of the 2004 Dodge Caravan was stopped at the four-way intersection before the crash. The van’s windshield may not have been fully defrosted at the time, obscuring the driver’s view. The victim, identified as 79-year-old Carol Goeden, was taken to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries. The driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with investigators. GROUP CAUSES THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OF DAMAGE ALONG SOUTHEAST HAWTHORNE - POLICE MAKE ARRESTS

  Portland Police Bureau On November 26, 2020, at about 1:22 a.m., Portland Police responded to reports of people breaking windows and spraying graffiti on the New Seasons Market in the 4000 block of Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard. Multiple callers reported seeing a group of people, dressed in black clothing, moving west along Southeast Hawthorne breaking out windows as they went. Police arrived and found a group near Southeast 37th Avenue and Southeast Harrison Street matching the description and carrying evidence connecting them to the vandalism. Officers canvassed the neighborhood, spoke to witnesses, and found damage to at least ten businesses between Southeast 41st Avenue and Southeast 33rd Avenue along Southeast Hawthorne Street, in both the Sunnyside and Richmond neighborhoods. Some of the damage was sufficient to provide access to the interior of retail stores so officers contacted responsible parties and stood by while contractors or employees boarded up windows. DEPUTIES ARREST THANKSGIVING MORNING BURGLAR

Sheriff's Office On November 26, 2020, at 6:41 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call of a male breaking into a car in the 12800 block of NW Creekview Drive in the community of Cedar Mill. A resident heard his car alarm go off and saw a male inside his vehicle. While he confronted the male suspect, another family member called 911. The resident kept the suspect on scene until deputies arrived. The investigation revealed that the male suspect had not only entered several vehicles, but had also been inside the residence and the garage. While inside the home, the male used the restroom and helped himself to food that the family was going to prepare for their Thanksgiving breakfast.The suspect also loaded his pockets with various items he stole from the vehicles and the home. PEDESTRIAN STRUCK AND KILLED BY MOTOR VEHICLE

  Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office On November 25, 2020 at approximately 2:10 PM the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a pedestrian that was struck by a motor vehicle. This incident took place in the Tetherow Crossing subdivision north of Redmond. Deputies responded to the scene along with the Redmond Fire Department. The pedestrian was determined to be deceased due to her injuries. The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. DODGE TRUCK AND MULTIPLE POWER TOOLS STOLEN FROM CRESWELL PUBLIC WORKS

Sheriff's Office On November 21, 2020 at 10:45 a.m., the Lane County Sheriff's Office received a report of a burglary at the Creswell Public Works facility off Highway 99 in Creswell. The burglary was discovered by a Creswell Public Works employee when they drove by and noticed the shop bay doors were open when they should have been closed. A blue, 1992 Dodge D20 Cummins truck with Oregon license plate E228034 was stolen along with several power tools.  A photo of a similar truck is attached.  The photo is NOT of the actual truck.   The Lane County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information about this incident or the location of the stolen items or truck to call 541-682-4150 then press 1 and reference case # 20-7982.  

MYRTLE CREEK WOMAN ARRESTED FOR ARSON

Sheriff's Office ROSEBURG, Ore.  - A Myrtle Creek woman has been arrested on Arson charges stemming from a structure fire in Green on Saturday.  On Saturday, November 21, 2020, at about 1:15 am, dispatchers received a report of a structure fire in the 1000-block of Castle Ave in Green. Evidence was recovered at the scene which indicated the fire has been started as the result of arson. A suspect, 31 year-old Stephanie Marie Collins, was identified but was unable to be immediately located.  At approximately 4:00 pm on Saturday, November 21, 2020, Collins was located at a residence in the Myrtle Creek area and was taken into custody without incident.  She was lodged in the Douglas County Jail for Arson 1st Degree. 

DEPUTIES TALK BARRICADED SUSPECT OUT OF HOME WITH HELP OF ARMORED RESCUE VEHICLE

  Lane Co. Sheriff's Office On November 22, 2020 shortly after 11:00 p.m., the Lane County Sheriff's Office received a report of an assault at a home at the 22000 block of Fisk Rd. in Noti. The victim (a 73 year old male) was reportedly assaulted by a family member, 44 year old Shawn Stilwell of Noti, and suffered significant facial injuries. The victim was able to get out of the house but the victim's wife, who is on hospice, was reportedly still in the home with Shawn.   Information obtained during the investigation indicated that Shawn was agitated, possibly intoxicated, and had access to weapons.  Upon arrival, deputies found Shawn’s vehicle parked about halfway up the long driveway to the home, blocking other vehicles from passing.  Deputies attempted to loud hail from their patrol vehicles from behind Shawn’s vehicle but did not get any response from him or the victim's wife. MOTORCYCLE VERSUS VEHICLE COLLISION

  Roseburg Police Dept. On Saturday, November 21st, 2020 around 2:30 PM, emergency personnel responded to a vehicle collision on NW Edenbower at NW Broad in Roseburg.  It was reported that a motorcycle was driving southbound on Edenbower and collided with a Honda CRV that was turning from Broad Street onto Edenbower. The operator of the motorcyle was ejected and trapped partially underneath the Honda.  The male, 38 year old John Hillebrand of Dallas, Oregon was extricated from the vehicle by Roseburg Fire Department personnel, and was transported to Mercy via ambulance for treatment of life-threatening injuries.  Hillebrand was later transported to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland for further care.  On Sunday, November 22nd, Hillebrand's family advised investigating officers that Hillebrand died of his injuries. SERIOUS INJURY CRASH NEAR REDMOND

  Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office On November 22, 2020, at approximately 2:40 am, deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a reported single vehicle injury crash in the 3060 Block of SW Helmholtz Way in Redmond.  A resident in the area had called into 911 dispatch after hearing the crash and then going outside to check on the vehicle occupant.  The vehicle had also struck a power pole along the roadway shoulder, causing the top of the pole to break off and fall onto Helmholtz Way. Deputies arrived at the crash scene and found the vehicle’s driver, Alyssa R. Van Alstine, laying outside the vehicle with serious, life threatening injuries.  Deputies began providing lifesaving care to Van Alstine until Redmond Fire and Rescue arrived a short time later.  Van Alstine was quickly transported to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend to receive care for her injuries. FATAL CRASH ON SE DIVISION ST, MAJOR CRASH TEAM RESPONDING

  Portland Police Bureau A fatal crash has closed Southeast Division Street near Southeast 136th Avenue. On Sunday, November 22, 2020 at 8:07p.m., East Precinct officers were dispatched to a report of a crash on Southeast Division Street near Southeast 136th Avenue. When officers and paramedics arrived, they found occupants of two cars with severe injuries. The patients were transported to the hospital by ambulance. Officers later learned that despite lifesaving efforts of medical professionals, one of the occupants died. The Portland Police Traffic Division Major Crash Team (photo) is on scene and investigating. Southeast Division Street will remain closed at Southeast 136th Avenue for several hours. The PIO is not responding to the scene. More information will be released after investigators learn more.

Firefighters Respond to Mt. Hope Camper Fire

  Lebanon Fire District   Lebanon firefighters responded to a camper fire off Mt Hope drive today at approximately 1600. Crews arrived to a fully involved camper fire with no immediate exposures. Crews quickly brought the fire under control. Residents living near the incident advised that the camper was not in use and no injuries were reported. One truck and command vehicle responded from Lebanon and two water tenders and an engine responded from volunteer substations. A total of seven firefighters arrived on scene.

Two Takeover-Style Armed Robberies Being Investigated

  Portland Police Bureau Two takeover-style armed robberies overnight, one where gunshots were fired, are being investigated by Portland Police robbery detectives. On Sunday November 22, 2020 at 1:29a.m., North Precinct officers were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery at a convenience store in the 4500 block of Northeast 60th Avenue. Two suspects, who were armed with guns and stole cash, left the area before police were called. Then at 1:51a.m., officers got another armed robbery call, this one at a convenience store in the 7300 block of North St. Louis Avenue, and that a shot was fired. Officers responded and learned that at least one of the two suspects fired shots at two vehicles outside the store as they left the area (photos). One victim was injured by shattered glass. Cash and merchandise were stolen. Robbery detectives responded and are currently investigating the crimes. They are looking into whether the robberies are related. WRONG WAY COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLE CRASHES ON INTERSTATE 5 - LANE COUNTY

  Oregon State Police On Sunday, November 22, 2020 at approximately 1:37 A.M., Oregon State Police Troopers received reports of a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) driving northbound in the southbound lanes on Interstate 5 near milepost 163.  An officer from the Cottage Grove Police Department located and attempted to stop the CMV.  The CMV drove onto the shoulder and continued northbound in an attempt to elude the officer.  Near milepost 173 the CMV (2020 International), operated by Tylor Stafford (53) of Shelbyville, Texas, crashed into a southbound CMV (2019 Volvo) operated by Daryl Rickman (53) of Portland, Oregon.  Stafford's CMV (2020 International) then crashed into the concrete barrier and burst into flames.  Stafford attempted to run on foot however he was captured by an officer from the Cottage Grove Police Department.  Stafford was arrested for multiple charges including DUII, Reckless Driving, and Reckless Endangering.  Stafford nor Rickman were injured.  The northbound la

HILLSBORO TEEN KILLED IN CRASH

Sheriff's Office On Friday, November 20, 2020, at 2:59 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a traffic crash near SW Hillsboro Highway and SW Morilon Lane in unincorporated Hillsboro. Multiple witnesses reported crash between a green 1998 Honda Civic and cement-mixer truck. Deputies arrived on scene and found that the driver of the Honda was deceased. During the investigation, deputies determined that the Honda was traveling south on SW Hillsboro Highway when the driver lost control of the vehicle after failing to negotiate a curve. The driver of the cement truck was unable to stop and the vehicles collided. Deputies believe that the Honda was speeding prior to the crash. The driver of the Honda has been identified 16-year-old Manuel Perez-Luis, of Hillsboro. Mr. Perez-Luis’ family has been notified of his death. 90-YEAR-OLD MALE PEDESTRIAN KILLED WHILE CROSSING NW 6TH NORTH OF NW KINGWOOD AVE., FLEEING DRIVER LATER LOCATED AND ARRESTED

  Redmond Police Dept. On November 20, 2020, at approximately 6:07 p.m. the Redmond Police Department (RPD) and Redmond Fire & Rescue were dispatched to the area of NW 6th St and NW Kingwood Ave for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.  Upon arriving, officers learned 90-year-old Redmond resident Leroy Hall, who had been wearing dark clothing, had been crossing NW 6th St., not in a crosswalk, when he was hit by a maroon 2018 GMC Yukon and then hit again by a second vehicle.  The driver of the Yukon, later identified as 19-year-old Redmond resident Anthony Vasquez, fled the scene, while the second vehicle stayed on scene.  At approximately 6:16 p.m. officers located the Yukon and Mr. Vasquez in the vicinity of SW 15th St. and SW Metolius Ave.    Mr. Hall died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained.  Mr. Vasquez was subsequently arrested and lodged at the Deschutes County Jail and charged with the following crimes: Manslaughter I, Criminal Negligent Homic
