Oregon State Police Investigating Deceased Male Found Beside Hwy 101 - Coos County

Oregon State Police  On Monday, January 27, 2020 at approximately 9:21 A.M., Oregon State Police Troopers were dispatched to the report of a deceased person beside Hwy 101 near milepost 278 (Two Mile Lane).  Preliminary investigation revealed the deceased male, identified as William Schippert (44) of Bandon, had been struck by a vehicle hours before his body was discovered.   Investigators from the Oregon State Police, Bandon Police Department, Coos County Sheriff's Office and the Coos County District Attorney’s Office are continuing the investigation. The operator of the vehicle has been identified and is currently cooperating with the investigation. No more information is available for release at this time.

Two Working Fires, Hours Apart, Keep Lebanon Firefighters Busy

Lebanon Fire District Lebanon fire crews battled two working house fires within a 5-hour span on Friday night, stretching their available resources thin and testing the endurance of responders. The first fire came in at 5:38 p.m. at 30033 Fairview Road with reports of heavy smoke within the home. Both occupants were able to escape the structure, but by the time firefighters arrived the home was fully involved with fire venting from multiple windows. Firefighters quickly knocked the fire down but a partial collapse of the second floor rendered the building structurally unsafe for entry, so crews had to use existing openings in the structure to fully extinguish the fire. The structure and its contents were ruled a complete loss. Fire investigators returned to the scene on Saturday and spent hours examining potential areas of origin based on witness accounts. Man Posed as High School Student Online, Arrested for Child Sex Abuse

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office Over the past several months, two detectives from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit have been investigating 26-year-old Lafayette A. Castillo of Beaverton.  Detectives learned Mr. Castillo used Snapchat and Instagram to pose as a high school student so he could talk with children online.  He then met children in person and sexually assaulted them. The investigation identified multiple victims and based on Mr. Castillo’s social media activity, detectives believe he targeted additional children. Mr. Castillo was arrested on January 15 and indicted by a grand jury on January 24 for sex crimes involving two victims, ages 12 and 14.  His bail is set at $1.5 million and he is being held on the following charges: Rape the the first degree (two counts) Attempted rape in the first degree Sexual abuse in the first degree (three counts) Sexual abuse in the second degree (five counts) Sodomy in the third degree (two counts

Sheriff's Office JCSO Case 20-1563 On January 24th, 2020 at approximately 1730 hours members of the Medford Area Drug & Gang Enforcement Team with the assistance of Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies were following a suspect driving a blue Subaru Impreza travelling on Highway 140 at Brownsboro Highway. The suspect was involved in an ongoing drug investigation. The suspect vehicle was pre-emptively spiked at Highway 140 and Brownsboro. It immediately drove off at high speeds despite the successful spiking of the tire. A second successful spike occurred shortly thereafter. Another system called Star Chase was attempted to be deployed to be able to track the suspect with GPS but was unsuccessful. The suspect drove with tires deflated on rims at high speeds westbound on Brownsboro Highway. Sheriff's Office ROSEBURG, Ore . - Two burglars are behind bars this weekend after deputies linked them to a residential burglary from January 21st and served a search warrant at their home.  On January 21, 2020, deputies responded to a report of a residential burglary in the 1800-block of Linnell Avenue. Following up on the case, deputies located evidence which assisted in the investigation. As the investigation progressed, information was developed which led deputies to apply for a search warrant for a home in the 2100-block of La Canada Drive in Roseburg. On January 24, 2020, deputies were granted the warrant and served it at approximately 7:15 pm with the assistance of the Winston Police Department and Oregon State Police.  Initially, multiple individuals were contacted at the residence during the warrant execution. TWO ARRESTED FOR METH AND OTHER CHARGES AFTER PROVIDING FALSE INFORMATION IN TRAFFIC STOP

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office REEDSPORT, Ore.  - On Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at 9:30 pm, a deputy stopped a white 2000 Honda Accord on Highway 101 near milepost 219. He contacted the occupants of the vehicle and issued warnings for minor traffic violations.  Following the traffic stop, the deputy learned the occupants had provided him with a false name for a male in the vehicle. He was able to determine the true identity of the male and learned he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.  On Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 2:18 am, the deputy observed the vehicle and subjects in the 600-block of Winchester Ave. The deputy contacted them and took 46 year-old Tito Manuel B. Washington Co. Sheriff's Office Detectives from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit have continued investigating the circumstances that led up to the shooting death of Philip Cloud on September 23, 2019. As part of the ongoing investigation, detectives executed several search warrants and interviewed dozens of people. On January 8, 2020, detectives secured an arrest warrant for Tracy Lynn Cloud, age 46. Ms. Cloud was the estranged wife of the victim in this shooting. Earlier this afternoon, deputies took Ms. Cloud into custody. Ms. Cloud has been lodged in the Washington County Jail on charges of second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office wishes to thank the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force for their assistance with this investigation.

Detectives Investigating Shooting in East Salem

Marion Co. Sheriff's Office On January 21st, 2020, shortly after 11:00 pm, deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a shooting in the area of Snoopy Lane NE and Linus Court NE, in the unincorporated area of Salem.  Deputies arrived on scene to find a silver Chrysler 300 crashed into a van; one adult male in the vehicle had what is believed to be a gunshot wound to the head.  Medics transported the victim to an area hospital where he is in critical condition.  A short time later, two additional adult males arrived at Salem Hospital with gunshot wounds from the incident.  Both have been treated and released for their injuries. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit have taken over the investigation and are investigating.  If anyone has information about the shooting they are being asked to call the Sheriff’s Office non-emergency dispatch at 503-588-5032.

Search Warrant Served in White City

Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office WHITE CITY,Ore. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant in the 8000 block of Gladstone in White City on 012120 at 10:50PM. During the service of the warrant a total of 15 people were detained at the scene.  Three subjects were cited and released for drug law violations and one was arrested for warrants.  Arrested was Elizabeth Ann Hibberd, 052680. She was lodged on two warrants.     The warrants were Failure to Appear PCS Meth, $7500 bail and Failure to Appear-Violation of No Contact Order Bail $7500. Subjects cited for Possession of Controlled Substance were: Adam James Hackworth, 040379, for PCS Meth. Justin Dwayne Eidem, 101779, for PCS Meth. Tara Marie Holland, 062584 for PCS Meth. JCSO is continuing to investigate this incident.

Investigation leads to arrest for possession of child pornography

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office   For approximately the past six months, detectives with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office have been investigating Michal Wills. The detectives division received a tip from Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) regarding Michael Wills possibly possessing and distributing child pornography.  During the investigation detectives were able to confirm Wills was the person involved. On January 14, 2020 detectives contacted Wills at his residence. Wills was interviewed, and a search warrant was later served at his residence. During the search warrant detectives seized various electronic devices belonging to Wills. A search warrant to analyze the electronic devices was later granted, and a forensic examination of the electronic devices revealed Wills was in possession of images of child pornography.   Wills was contacted again on January 21, 2020 and interviewed regarding the evidence located on his electronic devices. Man charged with 27 counts in Wood Village break in and sexual assault

Multnomah Co. Sheriff's Office On Sunday, January 19, 2019, around 5:30 a.m., Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies were dispatched to a 911 call from a Wood Village residence. Deputies responded to a residence located in the 22900 Block of NE Halsey St. and contacted a woman who reported that a stranger broke into her home and sexually assaulted her. The man left the residence before deputies arrived. Deputies searched the area for the suspect with the help of a police K9. Based on the description provided by the victim, deputies located the suspect outside a nearby apartment complex approximately three hours later. Alfredo Guzman, 24, was taken into custody without incident. Detectives learned Guzman, a stranger, entered through an unlocked door. They also learned the woman’s young children were present in the home at the time the incident occurred. Victim Crushed Between Cars, Suspect Arrested for DUII

Portland Police Bureau A pedestrian is in the hospital with serious injuries after being crushed between her car and a car that hit her. On Monday, January 20, 2020 at 1:18 p.m., East Precinct Officers were dispatched to a report of a pedestrian-involved crash in the 4800 block of Southeast Steele Street. When officers arrived they found a woman who had been crushed between two cars. The victim, a 75-year-old female, was treated by paramedics and then transported to a hospital. Her injuries are serious. The Traffic Division responded to assist with the investigation. Officers determined that the victim was standing behind her parked car on the side of Steele Street. She was getting items out of the trunk of her car when the suspect ran into the victim and her car, causing traumatic injuries to the victim's legs. The officers arrested the driver of the vehicle. Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety Since January 13, 2020, the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety (GPDPS) has received multiple reports of burglaries to local businesses, with one business burglarized twice. GPDPS Police and Detective units began working with leads and evidence obtained to try to identify a suspect. The listed burglaries were similar in nature and believed to be tied to the same suspect: 1/13/20 - 429 SE 6th Street (Second Chance Thrift Store) 1/16/20 - 114 SW Booth Street (Booth Street Thrift Store) 1/19/20 - 429 SE 6th Street (Second Chance Thrift Store) 1/20/20 - 1607 Williams Hwy (Subway Sandwich) On Monday January 20, 2020, GPDPS identified the suspect from their continued investigation as 55 year-old Steven Ray Borden of Grants Pass.  Patrol Officers and Detectives immediately conducted a search of the city for Borden and located him within a few hours.  Upon completion of the investigation, Borden was linked to the four listed business burglaries

Fire Investigators Determine Cause of Beaverton High School Fire

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Following a fire that damaged several classrooms at Beaverton High School, fire investigators have concluded that the fire was caused by the failure of a small refrigerator that was located inside the adjoining classrooms. The fire is classified as accidental. A damage estimate is not currently available. Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore. – Gresham Police is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 65-year-old woman.  Linda McCain was last seen today around 1:50 p.m.  Linda is developmentally delayed.  She is described as a white female, approximately 5-feet-4-inches tall, 145 pounds with black and grey hair.   She was last seen wearing a light blue puffy jacket and black pants. Missing Person Investigation Continues-- Albany Police Case # 20-00214

Albany Police Albany Police Detectives continue to investigate the disappearance of 37-year old Tiffany Marie Lazon.  The last reported contact with Tiffany was around December 27th at the 16th Avenue address.  Since that time family, friends and law enforcement have not had any contact with Tiffany. Albany Police Detectives have not received any verifiable information on the whereabouts of Tiffany. Two Search Warrants Served in Crabtree Yesterday

Linn County Sheriff's Office Sheriff Jim Yon reports the Line Team served two separate drug related search warrants yesterday around 5:30 a.m. in the community of Crabtree.  The Linn County Regional SWAT served one search warrant at the address of 37565 Hungry Hill Drive where they detained twenty individuals.  There is a main residence, and numerous travel trailers and motorhomes where people were residing at this location.  Detectives seized methamphetamine, heroin, paraphernalia and firearms.  One of the firearms seized was confirmed to be stolen from Marion County. After detectives from multiple agencies searched the property, eight females and eleven males were arrested on drug related crimes and were taken to the Linn County Jail.  The property owner, Steven John Maneatis, 62-years-old, was charged with Delivery of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, and Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon.  He was additionally cited by the Linn County Buil

Sheriff's Office Case 19-25342 On December 7, 2019 the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a Theft case involving an elderly victim under the care of an in-home care provider. The victim suffers from dementia and lives alone in the Shady Cove, Oregon area. The investigation lead to the discovery of the care provider making multiple unauthorized cash withdrawals from the victim’s account using her ATM card at an ATM machine. The thefts occurred in October and November, 2019. The suspect was arrested on January 10, 2020 at his home in Central Point. The suspect is Tyson Chad Lee Sledge, DOB 04-23-88 of the 400 block of N. 1st St. Central Point, OR. Sledge was lodged at Jackson County Jail and has been indicted by the Jackson County Grand Jury on four counts of Criminal Mistreatment First Degree, four counts of Identity Theft and one Count of Theft First Degree. ROSEBURG MAN IN GRAVE CONDITION FOLLOWING HIT & RUN WEDNESDAY NIGHT

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office ROSEBURG, Ore.  – Deputies are investigating a hit and run incident which occurred Wednesday which has left a man in grave condition. On Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at 8:54 PM, dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call of a man in a wheelchair who had been struck by a car in the 5000-block of NE Stephens Street near the Buckeroo Barn. When deputies arrived, they located a 46 year-old Roseburg man, whose name is being withheld at this time, lying in the roadway suffering from critical injuries. The man had been in a motorized scooter at the time he was struck. The vehicle that had struck the man left prior to the arrival of emergency crews. The victim was transported by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg and later transferred to Sacred Heart Hospital at Riverbend where he is in grave condition suffering from life-threatening injuries. Deputies located evidence at the scene to indicate the vehicle involved was a white 2014-2016 Mazda 3.

41 year old Bend man posing as teenage boy on social media arrested upon return from Netherlands

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office In October   of 2017 The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office received a report of sexually explicit photographs of underage girls being distributed. The investigation revealed that three girls, who were under the age of 16, had been communicating with a male subject on Facebook. Two of the underage females believed the subject was the other girl’s boyfriend. One of the underage females received sexually explicit photographs from the male subject, and all three were requested to send sexually explicit photographs of themselves to the male subject. Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office detectives began investigating the incident and learned that neither of the girls had actually ever met the male subject in person. The only contact was through messaging or video calls. During the video calls, the male subject’s camera was blacked out to keep them from seeing him. Two Rescued from Cultus Lake Tuesday

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office GLIDE, Ore.  - On Tuesday, January 14, 2020, Douglas County Dispatch received a call from 33 year-old Brad Barron of Canyonville. Barron told dispatchers he and his wife were stranded in the snow near Cultus Lake and were in need of rescue. Cultus Lake is in Douglas County is located at 43.1188 -122.9505. Deputies learned that Barron and his wife had left their residence and drove to Cultus Lake on Monday, January 13th. While at the lake, they began to experience vehicle problems and ended up staying the night. Over night, a large amount of snow fell which added to the complications of their trip. Barron had walked several miles in the snow until he was able to obtain cell service and summon assistance.  Douglas County Search and Rescue dispatched its snowcat and a tracked side-by-side. It took Search and Rescue crews approximately 9 hours to reach the stranded subjects due to the significant amount of snow and several downed trees blocking

Crime Stoppers of Oregon The Washington County Sheriff's Office, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to locate a 20-year-old woman missing since December 22, 2019. On Monday, December 23, 2019, Washington County Sheriff's Office deputies received reports of a missing woman in a wooded area near the City of North Plains. Allyson Joy Watterson, 20, was last seen during the day on Sunday, December 22, while she was with 21-year-old Benjamin Garland. After Allyson was reported missing, Garland was arrested for multiple charges unrelated to the disappearance of Ms. Watterson. One of those charges included auto theft, as he was driving a stolen red 2001 Ford F-150 pick-up around the time of Allyson's disappearance. The truck was recovered by law enforcement. Snow-laden trees close Oregon 230, West Diamond Lake Highway

ODOT: SW Oregon UNION CREEK - Oregon 230 is closed due to hazardous trees leaning over the highway, creating hazardous conditions. This closure is from Oregon 138 near Diamond Lake to the Oregon 230/62 intersection near Union Creek. Drivers should use alternate routes and be prepared for winter driving conditions. Oregon State Police  The adult male and father of the two children is being identified as Jeremy Stiles (47) from Portland. The officer that entered the ocean is from the Manzanita Police Department and is requesting no media interviews at this time. On Saturday, January 11, 2020, at approximately 12:38 P.M., Emergency Services responded to the Falcon Cove area, near the county line of Clatsop County and Tillamook County, for three people that had been swept into the ocean. Preliminary investigation revealed a adult male was holding two children, a 7 year old female and a 4 year old male, on the shore and they were all swept into the ocean by a wave. A police officer arrived to find an adult male struggling to get out of the ocean and a juvenile female further out in the ocean.  The officer went into the ocean and was able to get the juvenile female and bring her to shore.  She was transported by Medix Ambulance to Providence Seaside Hospital (PSH).  The adult male was als

Idleyld Park Man Arrested in Death of 1 Year-Old

Sheriff's Office IDLEYLD PARK, Ore.  - On Thursday, January 9, 2020, at 11:01 am, 9-1-1 dispatchers received a report of a child who was reportedly not breathing at 7 Cedarwood Lane in Idleyld Park.  Dispatchers initiated telephone CPR until deputies arrived, who attempted lifesaving efforts. The child, identified as 1 year-old Ember Alice McBride, was transported by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased upon arrival. Detectives and the Douglas County Medical Examiner began an investigation into the death. On Friday, January 10, 2020, a forensic pathologist determined Ember's death was the result of blunt force trauma and ruled it a homicide. Wanted Felon Arrested, Guns Seized

Portland Police Bureau A wanted felon was arrested on gun crimes and firearms were seized from a home in the Mt. Tabor Neighborhood. Officers from East Precinct's Neighborhood Response Team (NRT) learned that a felon with an outstanding warrant had guns in a house in the 6900 block of Southeast Yamhill Street. On Thursday, January 9, 2020, officers with NRT and the East Precinct Street Crimes Unit arrested Richard D. Bond, 33. During the arrest, Bond tried to escape out of a back window but was confronted by officers. Officers seized two rifles, one handgun, and ammunition (photo). Bond was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on three counts of Felon in Possession of a Firearm and a warrant out of Washington County.

Hillsboro Police Investigate Shooting at Apartment Complex

Hillsboro Police Dept. Yesterday officers responded to reports of shots fired at Quatama Crossing Apartments, 650 Northeast Autumn creek Drive. 9-1-1 callers reported a man fired several shots from a pistol into a parked car before driving away in a Subaru Outback. An officer responding to the call found a car matching this description and stopped it westbound on East Main Street west of Southeast Borwick Street. As the officer got out of his patrol car, the Subaru accelerated away. The Subaru lost control at the intersection with Northeast Century Boulevard and crashed into the driver’s side of a Toyota 4Runner waiting to turn left at the intersection. The Toyota’s driver, a woman, and a passenger in the Subaru, a man, were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Portland Police Bureau On Thursday, January 9, 2020, at 4:30 p.m., Portland Police officers, with the assistance of the Hillsboro Police Department, took 22-year-old Luis Silva Echeverria-Navarrete into custody relating to a probable cause arrest. This arrest was the culmination of a two-year, fatal hit and run investigation by PPB's Traffic Investigations Unit. On November 26, 2017, at 9:56 p.m., Daniel Gene Ramsey III was struck and instantly killed by a speeding driver at the intersection of North Fessenden Street and North Alma Avenue while crossing the street in an unmarked crosswalk. Thanks to tips from community members, investigators were able to identify Mr. Echeverria-Navarrete as the driver of the vehicle. PPB officers subsequently located and arrested Mr. Echeverria-Navarrete in Hillsboro, Oregon on Thursday. Military deserter taken into custody at Cape Perpetua

Lincoln Co. Sheriff's Office On January 9th, 2020 at 8:24 AM, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a welfare check on a suspicious person at the Cape Perpetua Visitor’s Center.  The caller reported the subject’s name as Chris Gardner.  Earlier in the shift, deputies were made aware of a state-wide bulletin regarding 32 year-old military deserter from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington named Christopher Lee Gardner.  Gardner was considered armed and dangerous by the US Army.  The description and details surrounding Gardner’s suspicious activity provided by the caller matched the information provided in the US Army bulletin. Members of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by two Oregon State Police Troopers, closed off access to the Cape Perpetua Visitor’s Center and evacuated the area.  Deputies observed Gardner and confirmed he was the subject of the bulletin.  Deputies and troopers formed an arrest team and were able successfully take Gardner into c

Hit and Run Injury Crash

Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety UPDATE: Suspect has been identified in the hit and run crash. Please see the attached bulletin for more information. The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety is investigating an injury hit and run crash which occurred on Rogue River Hwy near Cloverlawn Drive on January 6, 2020, at approximately 5:45PM.  The crash involved a vehicle striking a pedestrian who received serious injuries.  The suspect vehicle fled the area eastbound on Rogue River Hwy.  The pedestrian was transported to an out of area hospital for treatment. The suspect vehicle is described as a silver colored 2 door, 90’s to 2000’s smaller sedan.  There may be damage to the front and/or hood of the vehicle from striking the pedestrian.  See attached photo. 20 year old male arrested for having sexual relations with a 16yo female

Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety On Friday, January 3rd, 2020,  a Grants Pass Department of Public Safety Police Officer responded to the All Sports Park to investigate a suspicious vehicle. The subsequent investigation revealed that 20yo Gabriel Rosencrans had engaged in sexual intercourse with a 16yo female inside the vehicle. Rosencrans was arrested on the above listed charges and lodged in the Josephine County Jail. ARRESTED:  Gabriel Rosencrans 20yo male,  CHARGES: Sex Abuse II (x2), Contributing to the Sexual Corruption of a minor, Public Indecency, and Sexual Misconduct.

21yo male arrested for having sexual relations with a 15yo female

Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety On Tuesday January 7th, 2020, the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety Detectives Unit received information from an unrelated investigation that Aystyn H. Boeggeman reportedly had sexual contact with a 15yo female. A subsequent investigation revealed that Boeggeman had been in a sexual relationship with a 15yo female, while he was 20 years old. On Wednesday, January 8th, 2020, Boeggeman was located at 4569 Dick George Road in Cave Junction and taken into custody. Boeggeman was arrested on the above mentioned charges and lodged at the Josephine County Jail. ARRESTED: Aystyn H. Boeggeman 21yo male CHARGES: Rape 3 (x12), Sodomy 3 (x11), Sex Abuse 2 (x8), Contributing to the Sexual Delinquency of a Minor (x23), and Sexual Misconduct (x23).
